Hello, CynB! How are you and Mr. CynB and the puppy? Are you making progress with training? (The puppy, that is.)

Susan, I missed it but just went back and found it! Thank you for checking... Guess I can't help hubby that way either!!! I forgot to tell him! He didn't get home until after 11 last night and I had fallen asleep on the lounge waiting for him... See what I mean about snowed under? He left home around 7am.

Gail - sorry to hear about your pet.
They become one of the family and it's hard to lose them. Most of us have been there, we understand how sad you feel.

Yes, Julie, we are slowly making progress with the puppy but she is so full-on. I often feel like I did when I had my first child and he demanded all of my attention. But I am learning strategies. We've only had big outside dogs and learning to deal with an inside 'lap' dog is a new experience. But she makes all the effort worthwhile in the way she loves us!

Cyn my kids want an indoor puppy. And a kitty. Or two. Hubby wants a feret and some more birds. Some fish would be nice too. Oh and a turtle.

Foot down firmly here!

Susan, meant that I forgot to tell him that I had looked and couldn't find them. I really should re-read my posts to make sure they make sense... Life without a brain, it really is unfun.

Suzy, when my kids still lived at home we had 2 dogs, a cat, a budgie, a fish tank full of tropical fish and a white mouse. Guess who did most of the feeding, cleaning etc - moi! Don't get sucked in!!

Susan, also meant to tell you that I have 'lost' all the buzz words. Everything I'm writing is very colloquial. I think I will have to go back and do a bunch of reading to get the knack again.

And that mouse - his abode needed regular cleaning or it was baaaad! Had to put a bomb under my son every Saturday morning to do it.

Cyn, I told them that we couldn't have a cat or a feret unless the litter box was scoooped every day by someone other than me, and as I knew that wasn't going to happen, they couldn't have a cat or a feret...

ewew Sounds like an outdoor pet to me!

I read somewhere that people who smell nice smells at nice tend to dream good dreams, people who smell bad smells tend to have more bad dreams. A good excuse not to have smelly pets!

friends, you know it all helps.
Yesterday was a very melancholy day for me. Losing Scrap was of course very hard, and not long after I got home from the vet, I had word that Mum had taken a turn! News today is she is much better, in higher spirits and well rested. I spoke very briefly with her last night and she sounded very tired and flat.
To top that all off, a twinge I had in my shoulder the day before ended up being a stiff neck I could hardly turn by last night. Went to bed feeling very sorry for myself!

That is what they call a pupil-free day here, I think that makes them feel a little better about it! She also has one next Monday, then Tuesday is a public holiday for Melbourne Cup Day, then she said they have another one the following Monday...but she was jumping the gun, that's not till December. Wishful thinking, I call it!

Oh Vic teachers get lots of pupil free days! NSW only get 3. So far the girls schools have always had them on the first day of the first 3 terms...

Public holiday for Melbourne Cup Day??? NSW fans have to take televisions or radios to work!

Apparently, they didn't have any last term, so they are making up for it! Poor teachers, must be tough!
When D#3 told me about the ones she thought she had, I said I should go up there and ask for the fees back...not too sure how that would go down.

I can't believe how different the systems are in different states. Truly weird. I find it amazing that children survive when their parents move around a lot - like military people do. Even from one school to another can be a problem. They syllabus covers 2 years and schools can present the material in the order or combination that they feel is most effective. Which means if you move schools you may cover some material twice and other material not at all!

Just a quick fill in for those who didn't know -
Scrap was my 16yo ginger cat who had been on arthritis medication since Feb 07. He has had a very up and down time of it since then, and I have had him booked for the long holiday a couple of times but he has gained a reprieve each time. That cat had more than nine lives! His condition deteriorated over the weekend and he was looking very sad and sorry for himself, so I thought it was time and the vet agreed.
I was with him when he went to sleep and it was very peaceful. The vet and nurse couldn't have been kinder to us.
I hadn't told the kids last night, I always find that yucky, but D#3 came into the pooter room as I was changing my page details and saw it, so we had a cuddle.
This morning was hard though, when I fed the cats. His son and daughter knew something was up, he used to be the noisy one at breakfast and it was way too quiet.
How do you tell cats that their father has gone?!

Pretend I was never here..ok?

Thanks guys for the wishes for Mum. We are as prepared as we can be.

to everyone else on site.
Someone asked about why I had finished up the Nutrimetics and UnderCoverWear.
Mainly as I could not get parties let alone enough sales to make any money out of these two jobs.
People have had to tighten their belts and something has to go.
On the other hand I had people continually saying to me if I did return to Avon that they would be my customers again.
Avon does not have the party plan and is of course a lot cheaper than the other two.
I think it is all part of this spring clean thing I am going through at the moment.
Also having personal problems does not help and I just needed to streamline things.

Also we are moving the computer shortly to the sunroom.
At last I may be able to have a chat with those of you that are on after 9.30pm.
Ethans room has been completely sorted through and cleaned out and so has the sunroom.
We have an old pianola in there that has to come out and go in the garage.
My hubby has to take more holidays from work as it is so quiet and they have already put 3 people off.
He will be off for two weeks starting next week so hope to move it then.
