Becky, yes my sister and her husband came up on Thursday and left Sunday afternoon. We didn't plan on going to IMAX, I wasn't even sure what it would be like, maybe 3D. When I asked the guy at the ticket booth, he said people were coming from all over just to see it. The tickets were twice as much, but I had movie passes, so they didn't cost us any more. We were so impressed with it, that we said we have to go to another one at IMAX. My sister said she would come up for it. (5 hour drive one way!)

There's an IMAX less than 2 miles from us and have never gone. Our neighbor used to go once a week until they raised the prices. The last I checked the tickets were $10. for a matinee.

I heard that Costco sells discount movie tickets. Do you have any near you? We get discount movie tickets through the union for state employees. It saved us $7.50 per ticket and there was 5 of us!

I finally got my new laptop up and running and it has Vista on it and I don't really notice a difference.(knock on wood) The difference that gives me trouble is Firefox, since I'm not used to it.

One opened last year, but haven't bought a membership. Been trying to talk a neighbor into going half on one. I think it's around $35. I went with her once and didn't think prices were that much different from the regular stores.

Hubby's one employer used to give discounts, but not anymore.

I think they've streamlined the newer release. The one I had was huge and clunky.

GOOD M aen Sudoluland and have a very good remainder of your day!

Checking in without reading, no time to read 10 pages you guys added over night! I am trying to do the necessities fore I leave. I have doc appointment today and I will find results of the latest tests, and talk about BP meds. So nothing major I think. I will try to check in when I get home late afternoon.

LIZ, Thanks for the info, and no cancer council shops here. People here have not caught on to the seriousness of the skin cancer epidemic. I will just look at local shops, I found my straw ones $3 I think at discount stores in the summer fun section. They were "on offer". My doc thoroughly approves of the 2 he has seen, although straw, they are tight woven straw, no sunlight gets through them. I might ignore the usual "straw hats are for summer" rule and wear them year round. If fashion police stop me, will tell them I have a doctor's excuse hehehe

NOW I must get dressed and eat breakfast and take meds, and empty dishwasher if I have time. I launch in one hour and 15 minutes.

All H*LL is breaking out here. Workmen have arrived, and IH claims he wasn't told anything about it, tho' he was here and a part of the decision making process. SO.... MAJOR tantrums! He says that he didn't know about the jack hammers. He says he didn't know about any disruption for 3 days. He won't let me leave the house to deliver the horses to the trainers, so I had to postpone that for a couple of days. This was scheduled 3 months ago, and he was told to put it on his calendar so he could arrange his work around it. He didn't.

Now I've got to feed the horses, then be back to read all the pages I missed overnight. You gals can REALLY talk!

Phew! Needed a second cuppa to get through the pages...I like Gail's idea to make it to page 400 (unless we break the site first!)
Bean - sexy faucets? ooo-la-la!
Stella - sounds like a fun time with your family...sometimes the IMAX experience makes me dizzy.
Speaking of dizzy - Liz...glad your photo shoot went so well. The DVD sounds like leaving the doctor's with a lolly pop! hehehe

Great to see Kate visiting SA!
Heidi - you sure don't need tantrums on top of the jackhammers...saying a prayer for you, sweetie! and sorry you had to rearrange your schedule with the horsies.
eaaaa! sorry I missed your furry lil self...good to see you popping in.

**NOTE: I found (because I have myself as a "friend"...I need all the friends I can get, hehe) that when you turn the option "on" or "off" on your Update Details page, you must sign off the site and back on again for the change to actually show in the "Friends" box.
Just so ya know

That's not how it works for me. (I also added myself as a friend so I can see if I'm on or off) All I have to do is turn off the pooter, I don't have to sign out. In fact, I never sign off.

I found out how to stop IH's tantrum. He's had a 180 degree mood swing, and is now very pleasant. I just told him what he's getting for Christmas. (a lap top pooter). He's too cheap to buy one for himself, and he really needs one.

good morning! i'm sitting here in my pj's trying to do some catch up reading. just can't get through it all. i need more ! elsa-3 was so happy to have daddy here this morning. she won't talk to me and dad has to do every thing for her...potty, snacks, dress etc. i don't mind that part, but i sorta miss her hugs! we played games with the older kids till late and had a great time. now with bret home "the house" becomes the first order of business. i just want the blasted thing done so i don't have to think about it anymore! bean's tap talk is right up my ally. know all about them...just bought a house full. how about lighting...any suggestions there?

Mariana - so glad your family is back intact...but sorry elsa is snubbing you (hehe - she's such a little daddy's girl, huh?)
No suggestions for you on lights as I know your budget is beyond ours...plus we have such rigorous building codes these days that everything has to be energy saving and they cost 3 times as much. Guess they'll save us in the long run, but we are conservative with energy anyway.

mizt- i like your hats! who knows, maybe you will start a new trend.
stell- i love a good imax film. we have one here in salt lake city and they do the normal hollywood films in 3-d and they have the normal imax films. they are spectacular! we try to go to all the new ones when they come out. our favorite one was an under the ocean documentary. beautiful!

i don't know about a big budget vici! bret has been helping people for 20 years! we have been calling in alot of favors. plus, with doing it yourself (no contractors) we save big....you know all about that though. i'm hoping that my cousin's wedding will happen soon. he is in italy and it would be the perfect excuse to go to murano (venice) and get handblown glass lighting fixtures. it is soooo much cheaper to go straight to the source!

Ever hear of generosity? I give big things to a lot of people. Most of them no relation.

Yeah Heidi, we know you do...but that's just it -most of them are no relation. I also imagine if they were tormenting you like IH seems to, you wouldn't be so generous with them (unless they were beloved critters)....
Heidi - somethings fishy here!
BTW - you know we love you to pieces, don't you???
