Broni, I've heard of pulled pork but have no idea what it is. I asked hubby and he has no idea but suggested shredded pork. Kind of makes sense, you pull to shred...

I've kept a copy of the recipe - looks yummo!
Waiting to see if hubby's car starts today. Turns out that when the mechanic replaced the bracket he didn't connect the battery back together properly (well, we'll blame him anyway). Hubby charged the battery overnight using our new battery charger so we'll see what happens... I do think he should have put the battery back into the car BEFORE he changed into his work clothes.

eaa, you naughty thing, using up your allotment so quickly! Well, your wee hours you might find the topsiders about to chat with you! Hope you can keep your furry wittle nose here on site somehow!
I have one clean room. well 2 if you count the ensuite. Yeppers, bath and bedroom clean, neat, dusted, de-cluttered. I just need to vacuum, but that shall wait till tomorrow! I did a bit, sat a bit, and did some more today. The clutter in here was getting to me. I have a nice clean desktop now, and clean bedside tables. It is amazing how many things can be brought into a room and never taken out in one month hehehe.
almost time for flinging food, but I need a little lie down fore that, my daytime meds today made me sleepy.

Good morning All,
Just rang my grandson for his 3rd. birthday. (It was my son's birthday yesterday) Too much going on to go to Melbourne for their birthdays this year.
I think Sharon and Laura will be here today so Sharon can have a bit of a rest. Although they are back home Sharon still gets tired and is limited with what she can do. Do not have to nag!

No nagging June! You've had a couple of days rest so don't need nagging about taking anything else on. Sharon is doing the sensible thing by resting herself so don't need to nag her either. I would like to wave a magic wand though...

I NEED to have a rant.
I'm a childminder, i look after other peoples children in my home, Friday was the last day for a 8 1/2 year old boy, his mother (we will call her 2 face)
said that she was taking a few months off work so would no-longer need me, she never once said she had a problem with me. Standing on my doorstep at the end of the day, she gave me a present and said thanks for looking after her son, and that when she was ready to go back to work she would give me a call, and that she had a friend (Emma) who lived down my road who she knew was looking for someone to look after her 2 boys, she would give her my card, I said thanks but we had already talked and when she started work in a few weeks she would like me to have her boys.
On Wed morning Emma knocked on my door and told me I had a problem, 2 face had come up to her tue afternoon and said "I have to warn you about Nicky, I've had to take my son out of there."
Talk about back stabbing.

Hello All...Just checking in...I've had a buzy day doing stuff, grocery shopping, bank erands, etc, and a trip to the doctor's where I got a good report and a release unless a set-back occurs...which I don't expect to happen.
Tonight my home team baseball team will start their run to beat L.A Dodgers, so I'll be watching that and hoping we win!
June and MizT...sounds as if we older folk know how to pick and choose our priorities when things like illness crop up so that we can keep going...yes, we have to let some things wait and take a break between jobs...but we get there! Continue on ladies...Way to go.
To all who are still under the weather...take care..I care...hope complete healing comes quickly...

Oh Pioneer Lady...I understand your anger...Its so disappointing when people act like that. I do hope you and Emma had an open conversation and she will still allow her boys stay with you. Perhaps 2 faced was jealous that she wasn't first to let you know about Emma. I do wish you well and hope that things work out for you. Peace walk with you.

So now my business reputation is being bad mouthed around the school playground.
To tell you how small and petty this woman is, her list of problems with me are:
She didn't agree with the contract that we negiotated and she signed.
Her son was never ready and waiting for her on the door step when she got there.
When she arrived one evening, I was vaccuuming the carpets, instead of watching her son.
But the best one is I gave my children chocolate but not hers.
On Fridays after school, we go to the shop and I asked the kids if they wanted some choc. I asked her son 3 times, he said no. When we got home I gave the kids their choc and he asked where his was. I told him i had asked him 3 times and i wasn't about to walk back to the shop which is about 20 minutes away.
I'm done. I'm not being unreasonable, am I?

Mama, I have been missing for a while so didn't know you weren't well. Good to hear that you so far on the mend that the dr are happy with you.
Did you get to see your grand daughter and her daughter? the last I heard was that you were heading to see them.

Changed my avatar because I don't have smilies yet PioneerLady.
2 face is well named. People have different parenting/caring styles. Not better or worse, just different. If you don't match, you don't match. Simple as that. If it's more than differences you don't just take your child out of there, you make a report to the appropriate authorities, which she didn't. I can understand her not wanting to confront you about differences, but not her need to bad mouth you to friends and neighbours!!!! Her arguments must not have been very strong or Emma would not have come to you about them...

Yes Emma and I had a chat and she is still happy with me. And when 2F told her that her son was no-longer coming to me she was relieved, as she dosen't much like the boy and how he is with her children.
But it is still infuriating.

hi pioneer lady. rant away. i am ticked here with you. that was way mean of 2face! too bad she didn't talk to you herself and explain her concerns. it was probably something trivial and totally unintentional like telling her little boy to please not pick his nose. now you don't have the chance to fix it, and that is sooooo frustrating. could you call and ask what she found upsetting? hope she is willing to work it out like an adult! best of luck.

Hi All! Just popping in briefly - we have driven a good part of the day and are stopping for the evening in Lakeview (suppose to be a lake view of a HUGE lake - that is also very shallow - only the lake is a meadow this year. Can't believe how bad the water situation is all over. We sure need a long hard winter here.

Nicky, welcome and glad you brought your rant our way. I'm steamin' too at what I read, but not surprised. I think it's because people just don't take responsibility for their own lives...needing to blame others.
Usually when I hear someone going of like she is, I take a step back and consider the source. Sounds like Emma has 2F and her son pegged...probably others do too!

NICKY Welcome to SA6, I think this is your first post here??
I do not think you are being unreasonable at all. we recently had a discussion about children having to learn there were consequences to their actions, and his saying NO to chocolate and then not getting any , well, that was his lesson of the day!
Not watching him because you were vacuuming? Let's see, does his Mom sit and watch him all weekend and not tend to any chores or errands?
She did not like the contract? well why did she sign it?
She sounds like she is looking for reasons to justify her removing him. If it were me, I would want to see if she is placing him in another child care facility, and then go and warn THEM what she is like.
You came to the right place for a vent, we listen, we care. Hope it works out to the good for you.
Not I gotta ask, will Emma still bringing her boys to you to keep? Or has 2 face scared her away?
and 12 children? By yourself? (I checked out your page) Oh my.

PioneerLady sounds as if that woman is being very petty. How long had you looked after her son?
She wasn't just using you until she got some child care benefits. My next door neighbour used to be a registered child minder and this happened to her a few years back. she looked after the child for a while and then all of a sudden the mother said that she wasn't going to need her anymore as her mother was going to look after the child. Of course she had received her benefits by then so was well into pocket
