Loud night here tonight. I'd say the storm is moving, but the thunder is pretty much constant, it just gets louder sometimes. Ditto the lightning, except brighter.

Greeting friends, Tanya came last night about 11 PM, I am waiting till she she is up and about as I need her help today. My auto needs to go to the shop, and I need a ride home, also someone following me there in case it decides to stop. did I say earlier it did a strange thing, a light flash and a ding, while I was driving, but over so quickly I could not tell what trouble light came on. I phoned the auto shop today, mechanic seems to think it is OK to drive it, since the engin did not ever stop.

We are having fall weather again, highs near 70, lows in 50's. I have my windows open. Of course when I had a phone call, there was all kinds of noise outside interfering with my hearing the person calling. first the garbage truck backing up and that OSHA required back up beep beep. then a HUGE low flying airplane (we are near airport) so I gave up on the call.

Suzy, I hope you got a bit of needed rain, but no flooding and no damage from the storm. the ones that seem to stall over an area can cause the most damage from both water and lightning and wind.

Heidi, IF I can figure how to copy and move tht photo, I will either send to you or post here. Not sure how to do that at the moment. Perhaps I can figure it out. I do hope you get over your fever soon. anything hurting? Having a cough or trouble breathing? do you need to phone the doctor?

GEKKO to you, Broni, it is good to see you drop in. I hope you enjoy your house guests, but am not sure what the eek was about. did the date just sneak up on you sooner than you expected??

June, so sorry to hear that both you and your hubby (senior moment, forget his name, sorry) soon get completely rid of your cold/bronchitis. With it getting worse for you, and your puffer not working as it did, perhaps you need to either phone or see your doctor again?

I am off to do something, if it is wrong. I have a long list of 'Need to s' today. Hugs to each of you, with extras till next time.

Stay safe, June.

I still have the fever. I put a call in to Pain Management about it in case there's a connection to the epidural I had last week. The doctor will get back to me if he's concerned.

Hello all - Heidi hope your fever is just a bug going around. Would hate it to be connected to your epidural. Have read some of the past week or so whilst I was away. Belated birthday wishes June, happy Thanksgiving to the topsiders. Hope your FIL is settled Theresa. MizT - glad to see you are adding a bit of spice to your gossipy neighbours - what fun you can have with this one!! I spent the last week at lakes Entrance with the Kidney Bus - set up to facilitate 3 dialysis patients at a time. We stayed at the same place so it was easy for my early morning sessions. Had a great time (or as well as could be expected). Fell and broke my left wrist on the 2nd day so was a bit restricted - I had been looking forward to my first swim in 4 years but the plaster put an end to that one - also the great fishing from there. Oh well, maybe next time. It is a bit hard as I am left-handed and my right arm is out of action a fair bit of the time with the dialysis. Last year I was in hospital for Xmas and the New Year - this time I am stuck in plaster - getting a bit p**d off. Sorry for the misery but I feel better now!!

June, that was the scariest storm I remember. It was so LOUD. We got 54mm according to BOM. We have roof leaks so it's not fun.

MizT, hope your car is fixed soon!

Broni, I hope you enjoy your guests!

Midge, I don't know what to say. What a bummer! Yet even p**d off you manage to not sound like you're complaining! just telling it like it is. Big hugs!!!

Heidi, I did not want to voice my concerns that your temp. etc could be from the epidural. I do hope that it is just a bug.
Midge, like Heidi, you have so many health problems but always manage to stay on top of them. I feel ashamed that I complain that I have a cold and find the humidity annoying.
Suzy, we did not get a storm like you. I woke at about 3am but ken did not hear it at all. It was not as noisy as you had. we had a bit of noise this afternoon but no rain.

Greetings friends,

The auto is still at the shop. The owner phoned me saying it seemed there were a long list of things wrong, then began to name all the things they repaired LAST visit, in April. When I told him so, he went back to check records and consult with the mechanics who worked on it before. He now thinks perhaps the computer was not reset properly last time to clear all the codes, because there was one non essential item we did not repair. they are now going to replace that, an oxygen sensor, and see if the codes will all clear. Nope, not gonna pay for the same things I had done in april all over again. So I am still waiting for the final results. the oxygen sensor by itself it not too bad, just last ?april with some very expensive items we chose not to do it to reduce the outlay of cash. After they get the electronics cleared, then they will check to see if it does need the tune up I requested. So no car today.

I have finished decorating my tree, now to put away all the boxes till time to take it down in a month. I just ran out of steam. Tanya is here, to help staff decorate the public rooms for Christmas. I think she put together two trees and decorated them. She is taking a nap now, her medication does that to her, and a nap is part of her daily life.

I think I will take a nap myself, waiting for the pain meds to work and hopefully give me energy enough to get all the boxes put away again. I am happy that I was able to plug the tree decorations into the outlet controled by a switch. It is intended for a lamp, but I can reach the lamp better than the tree, once everything is back in place. the tree is on a sofa table that is behind the sofa, which sits at a small angle across the corner, just room for the 4 foot table top tree on the end of the table. I had one string of very lovely beaded garland, not really enough to put around the tree, so this year, I put it on the gold lame tree skirt, it is peacock blue and silver, and looks very nice on the gold background. Just mixing it up a bit.

Did I say there is a mirror on the wall close to the tree? In the mirror I can see the back of the tree, so it had to be decorated to look as nice as the front this year. Easy to do with the mirror to guide me.

Need to get off the puter now, hope to be back later. Hugs to each of you just cause.

The fever seems to have broken. Finally. I talked to the Doctor's office and they told me what other symptoms to look for if the fever originated in the epidural. If I had a single one of them, I was to go to the ER immediately. Fortunately, I had none of them.

Suzy, I had not thought the mechanic did not do the work. there were several things that needed doing, they even videoed the bad timing belt to show us, it was obviously very worn and loose. Because we did not choose (Joy and I) to have one of the items repaired at the time, part of the emissions control that is NOT checked in Alabama, they could not clear the codes. I thought at the time ONLY the code for the one we had not done had not been cleared, but it seems none of them cleared. Computers on autos these days, you know.

He just phoned again, the sensor that previously was not working is now, so they will proceed with a check of the auto to see what needs replaced for a tune up. I had not had a tune up since I have had it, so this is at my request.

WOW, Suzy, you have had some nasty weather lately. I do hope the rains are coming to the catchment areas, if you must put up with the storms let them do some good for all. another spring, almost summer day here. It is 63*F as I get up this morning, headed for 70* today. Partly cloudy, no rain forecast.

some weahter front came by yesterday, says my sister who watched the weather report section of local news. Both of us were hurting terribly, and weather fronts di cause that, so that was her explination of why. Notsure what it was, it did not turn cold, no rain associated with it, but it really did bring the achies that put me to bed to ride it out. Better so far this morning, hope it stays that way. I can tell it is close to time for meds again, though.

I will be leaving via bus shortly to get the yearly mammogram done. Taking the bus means I have my power chair once I get to medical center. I am not sure how much walking would be required, so having the chair is best. this is first mammo here at this location.

I am off for breakfast and to see what other clocks need resetting. Our power was out last night, some glitch in our building, not sure what had gone on, but happy the power was only our long enough for me to find and turn on my battery lights Hugs to each of you, with extras.

There would have been a lot of walking, so very glad I did go by bus with my chair. that chore is done and dusted for another year, unless they call me back. Has happened before, just hoping it does not happen this time.

No scrabble today, 2 of the players could not make it today. the third one said she is still in her Jammies here at 2 pm

My auto should be ready tomorrow morning, yeah. the inspection did find a few things, all of which were not pressing, and will be on the to do list for later. they did find one thing I am having them correct. One of the lugs on one of the tires is stuck, will have to be drilled out and replaced. As he pointed out, it is very good I have not had a flat in that tire, roadside assistance could not have changed the tire. It was worth the price of the inspection just to find that, in my way of thinking. The service trucks roadside assistance send out most times are not a tow truck, would mean another wait to get a tow truck, all because of a flat. He found a small leak around valve covers, I shall go buy a can of Stop Leak, should take care of that for probably as long as I have the car hehehe.

More hugs being offered, one for each of you, with extras, till later.

Good luck with the car MizT - something always seems to need to be fixed but would hate to not have a car. Hubbys car had 2 tyres shredded 2 weeks ago on rough bitumen near the airport - had to be towed home (nearly $300 worth) and then the fun of taking one wheel off, getting a new tyre and then the next. Took son no. 2 most of the day but we had to have it done straight away as my car off the road for a few days. Now mine needs 2 new tyres and a wheel balance - think daughter has hit the kerb once too often!! She will be taking my car to a weekend festival up bush (Meredith) soon and will be out of phone range if anything goes wrong. I have an Avensis so it is always being borrowed for music festivals as it can take 7 passengers. Son no. 2 has his 4 wheel drive in bits on our front lawn so my car is getting a lot of use. We look like a car yard at the moment. You are one very tolerant person Heidi - IH should have to return your truck in the same condition (and with petrol) as he gets it. Had an earth tremor this morning - haven't had one for a while. Suzy and June - send some rain down our way - we really need it. The paddocks around us are already turning brown and summer has only been here for 4 days. Ditto Julie - need to do some Christmassy things - might actually get my cards done this year by daughter - can type but not write with this plaster. Best wishes to all

It's not really being tolerant, Midge. I just try to look at the big picture to see if it's worth getting upset about. I ask myself if it'll be important 100 years from now, then if it'll be important 10 years from now, and finally if it'll be important 1 year from now. Few things are really worth getting in a lather about. IH has ''promised'' to fill up my gas tank tomorrow.

Last time Hubby got tyres for my car they asked if he wanted to take out insurance. For some reason he agreed. I had one flat at the back and wrecked the tyre before I noticed. Then we had a puncture. Both were covered by the insurance.
Looks like a storm heading this way but not for about an hour. I do hope it does not flood down the kitchen window again.

Auto is home, and no problems with it so far. Not too bad a price tag, so I am happy. I also went to grocery to get a few things, was completely out of milk, half and half for the coffee, and almond milk for the cereal. They had chicken breasts on sale, got about 5 pounds of those also. I looked for more pansies, but none at the store I visited. I think I saw some at a small nursery on the way home, will have to check that out later this week.

Nuttin else going on here. June, I hope you have no rain inside your house. Heidi, I hope your truck comes back all in one piece and a full tank. Julie, hope you got your full 6 hours of sleep before another busy day. Suzy, you are having more than your share of storms, hope this one did no damage. Midge, sounds as if auto tyres were playing up for your family. Hope all vehicles are once again road worthy.

I think that is all for now, hugs to each of you, with extras.

Random thoughts:
The bandage on my biopsy didn't even make it through the first night, but the wadding they used to stop the bleeding did. The wadding didn't make it through last night, which is a relief because the instructions I had to remove it were rather intimidating and I was told I may bleed uncontrollably again and to have stuff ready to put pressure on it. But it's all gone with no drama. Phew!

I just saw a link on fb to this amazing little 'car' thingy that is really a raincoat with a motor for someone in a wheelchair. Really very cool. I think it's called a kenguru. A woman in my town owns one. Several months ago, idiots egged her when she was driving it home. For months she was too scared to use it. I saw it in town this week so thankfully the losers in this town didn't win for long!

Remember the s3x compo case - a woman had s3x on a business trip and a light fitting fell and hit her in the face (not letting my imagination even go there). She tried for a workers comp claim saying it was an injury on a business trip, so it should be covered. She lost, but it went to court first. Well, she was in my town when she was injured! I swear this town infected her brain and she lost all sense!!

Another spring type day here in late fall (we count winter as starting Dec 21, at the winter solstice). I am not complaining, enjoying the shirt sleeve weather a lot. It is just difficult to get in the Christmas mode with such warm temps.

We received notice yesterday that ' a man will be coming to inspect EP2 apartments Thursday or Friday, you should let him in to inspect.'. This is the third or fourth inspection, all supposedly to prepare for the Big, Official HUD inspection in January. Took me all of 10 minuets to get apartment presentable once again. So easy with a small space and having Mary once a month to keep me caught up on things I get behind with.

My computer mouse is acting up, not moving the cursor when I want it to move. So if I drop out of sight for a bit, probably waiting for a new mouse to appear and install itself.

I did see Dave for a few minuets yesterday. He and Warner were having their coffee and chatting in our elevator lobby. They knew each other many years ago in the news business, radio and TV and print, they all knew each other it seems. He said he had been holed up in his apartment a while. I think his trip to Atlanta, and 4 hours on the train not being able to elevate that knee were a bit much. He did admit he would never have been able to drive that far, he had trouble just driving himself to the grocery On Wednesday. It seems he is not going to phone for help, so now that I have my auto back, I will have to check with him to see if he needs a ride to grocery. My auto is much easier for him to get into and out of, his is a sporty, low to the ground Fiat that reportedly 'takes 10 minuets to get this knee in or out', and his is a manual transmission, lots of work for that knee. Why are so many men so stubborn that they will not ask for help?

Hugs to each of you, with extras, till later.

Just found out today's inspection is of the sprinkler system. Good to know that would work if needed, and big hopes it never is.

Making ham bone soup today. I had bought a spiral sliced ham last week, packaged for the freezer most of the ham, and then boiled the bone for a rich broth and to dislodge the pieces of ham that a knife did not remove. Okra, onions, tomato, green beans, corn, and ham, with a few drops Texas Pete's hot sauce and some liquid smoke, it is tasting yummy. Perhaps a splurge of calories/carbs, and make a bit of pan fried cornbread to go with?

Greetings! Somehow, I keep running out of time each day, but I'm not getting the things I want to do done. Well, I am practicing the cello, as I have much to learn/memorize. Just added a Christmas song for the required holiday program. I'll be playing Frosty the Snowman this year. I'll try to have it memorized, as I have about a week, but my teacher said not to worry if it isn't memorized. Tomorrow we'll be helping all day at a fund-raiser for local food pantries. Sunday afternoon & evening we'll be getting together with 2 other couples for our annual Christmas gathering. Luckily, I was asked to bring dessert - ice cream & toppings specified - so I don't need to worry about getting home tomorrow night and making something.

Lots of car issues, it seems. Midge, SO many new tires & your son's car in pieces in the yard. June, thank goodness for the tire insurance; I'm not sure if we have that here. MIzT, some more things fixed on your car so that it can be driven. Heidi, truck repairs that IH promises to help pay for. One of our cars (the only one I drive) has been in the shop since Monday morning due to intermittent refusal to start. I'm VERY frustrated, as hubby wouldn't let me drive it as he tried to figure out the problem, so over a month. That means he drives wherever we go, including if I have errands or shopping to be done. VERY inconvenient, especially this time of year!

The alarm is set for another early morning, so I'm off to bed. May all of you have good health and healing energy, positive thoughts and attitudes, much love and , {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, and enough prayers for all to be accomplished!

IU have Laura and we spent the afternoon decorating a gingerbread house that I bought at Aldi's. I will take another photo tomorrow with natural light. The flash reflected on all the white 'snow'.
The house next door sold this morning and I wanted my queen bed back as I wanted to use it tonight. They were out when I went in at lunch time and when they were home it had started to rain. I want to take Laura shopping in the morning so I do hope they are home in the afternoon. While Ken and I have had colds and lots of coughing it would have been nice to have the extra bed so we did not wake one another. (They borrowed the bed 5 weeks ago as they had got rid of an old bed and the estate agent said they needed a large bed in the room for appearances).

I'm off in a short while to pick up a horse. This is one I used to own and sold years ago. The owners are having health problems and cannot keep him any longer. His name is Shadow, and he's a jet black wild-caught Mustang that I gentled and broke to ride. He's in his 20's now and will live out his life here. Buddy and Miss Kitty know him and will be happy to get back together.
After that, we're sorting out some more calves to sell. We try to grab the biggest each time. We're gonna try to catch 5 of them to take to the sale barn tomorrow.
