I'm going to use this topp to send healing thoughts to Alie's BF. Definitely arthritis in all of his joints and maybe his spine and also maybe thyroid cancer.

Back from the dentist's. Best check-up in a long time! Absolutely no problems, and a big improvement in gum health. My dentist told me to keep doing what I'm doing.

The weather here has been delightful for the past couple of days. A front is now moving in and it's starting to rain. In a few hours, we're gonna plummet below freezing again, and go down to single digits over the weekend. I am surprised at what a mild winter we've had so far, tho'.

Thank you for the birthday wishes. I had a lovely lazy birthday. We all went out to dinner the night before. After the Melbourne family left at just after 7am we sort of went back to bed (Ken slept till almost mid day). Lots of phone calls and messages and then Laura's father came for dinner and I cooked a duck which is one of my favourites. It was a cool showery day. This afternoon I am taking Laura to see Alvin and the chipmunks.

Hi, Everyone!

Seems like Nola and Paul will soon be heading home. Sending wishes for safe and enjoyable travels for both of you!

Mama, it's good to hear the doctor has prescribed something to ease the pain and help you to be more comfortable!

Heidi, I hope this epidural really 'takes' and you are able to rest your back and pamper yourself for a while!

Suzy, so sad to hear about Alie's BF. NOT the kind of diagnosis a young person wants to hear. Will he go for a second opinion? Sending positive thoughts and healing energy.

June, I'm so glad your birthday turned out to be a very pleasant and enjoyable day shared by family!

MizT, have you tried any of the pencil grips on the market? Even a small squishy ball with a pencil-sized hole pushed through it might make holding the pencils more comfortable. I liked your BOPP from the previous page.! So sorry the flowering plants have now succumbed to the frost and cold temperatures.

Time to head to bed. Sending prayers, , positive thoughts, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, and healing energy for everyone!

Slow, quiet day today. IH has been at a meeting all day, so I've been able to rest.
Tomorrow Don and Barb are throwing a birthday party for Gil... tho' his birthday isn't until the 22nd.... because they won't be in town next weekend. I'm having fun reminding him that he's turning 67. He's having problems accepting it.

Julie, yes, I do have one type of pencil grip, and it does help, but not totally relieve the problem. I have had to put away a partially colored page today, but it keeps calling me. And sometimes my hands are just going to hurt, even without trying to color. Like today, bummer. Hot wax dip would sure feel good, if it was already set up and working. If hands still such a bother tomorrow I shall get Tanya to come get it from closet and set up for me. Amazing what you cannot do when your hands act up. Boring, too.

I find a lot of those people live here in SA.

Today we lost another resident. Cathy had been in hospital since Christmas Eve, she fell in her kitchen and broke both bones in her leg. She had some kind of complications, had never got out of hospital to rehab, as had been the plan. I read a mention of a lung infection. RIP Cathy, your year at EP was a short time to know you, but you will be missed. BTW, she had renamed EP, to Episcopal Palace

More later, fingers say no more typing, and my coffee is finished making. Just holding the cup will feel good.

Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Greetings and Salutations!

Heidi, I'm glad you were able to rest and relax a bit. Hopefully, you'll be able to do the same tomorrow.. If Don and Barb are throwing Gil a birthday party, then you shouldn't need to have one for him on his actual day.. Early Happy Birthday to Gil.

I'm so sorry to hear that another resident has passed, MizT,. I'm sure she will be missed. I hope Tanya will be able to get the warm wax dip set up for you tomorrow, and hope it will give you some relief!

Thinking of everyone and sending healing energy, , positive thoughts, prayers, and {{{{{HUGS}}}}}! Take care, Everyone!

Tricia, sorry to hear that you lost another resident. I do hope that you soon get some relief for your fingers.
Rest as much as possible Heidi. Let that epidural do it's work. Just tell Gil it is just 3 years till he will be 70! That will really freak him out!
We took Laura up to Belinda's place for a few days. We have a meeting (talk) and lunch tomorrow. Somewhere we could not take Laura. She will enjoy the animals at the farm. School holidays here till 27 Jan. Our summer break.
Yesterday we saw the latest Chipmunk movie. Luckily I had a free ticket for myself. Laura's ticket always costs twice the price of my seniors one. I enjoyed that movie more than some of the children's ones I have seen.

Sad news, MizT. But at least Cathy is no longer in pain. It's always hardest on the friends and family left behind.

Brilliant suggestion, June! I WILL remind him that he has only 3 years until 70! It'll give him a heart attack.

Back from a fun time at supper. Great meal, delightful company.

The temperature is falling quickly. At 4pm, it was 32˚F/ 0˚C out. It's presently 23˚F / -5˚C at a few minutes past 8pm. It's supposed to hit 5˚F / -15˚C in a few hours. Tomorrow's high will hit only 17˚F/ -8.3˚C. Winter has arrived with a vengance. At least the mud will freeze.

So sorry about Cathy, MizT.

Poor Bren has rheumatoid arthritis, at 19. One of the drugs he has to take will make him sweat orange. Hopefully he will be out of pain though. There is a very very small chance it is reactive inflammatory arthritis and will go away for a while, but the doc thinks no. He is shattered.

Hi, Everyone!

Hubby wanted to watch a movie saved on our cable box. Company says it must be replaced, but anything saved to it will be lost. We watched Saving Mr. Banks tonight. It's about Walt Disney's 20-year quest to convince P. L. Travers to sell movie rights to Mary Poppins. It was interesting and enjoyable.

Suzy, so sorry to hear of the diagnosis for Alie's BF. Hopefully the medicine will help! Also sorry you must go another 2 weeks without driving. Hopefully they will pass quickly!

Mama, sorry to hear that you have had some medical issues. Glad to hear that all is well. Hope you're pain-free.

Hi my friends,
Well life is never dull. Bella had a cyst removed from her butt and we are both on anitbiotics. We are both improving except for the bank balance! Peter has been to his specialists and doctor, things are deteriorating but he is doing the best he can. Nearly all the repairs have been done to the caravan and car. Spent some time doing maintenance on the house. I am ready to get away from the big smoke again.
Will be heading off on our adventure in about two weeks, will stop off home again in about a month before heading up the far North of Queensland. Should be gone for another year health permitting.
Sending love, hugs and healing vibes to you all.

Broni, Enjoy your time at home and getting ready to set off again. Enjoy life while you are able.
I bowled today. We lost but not a lot of fun when the temp. is over 30*c.
I know not being able to drive is frustrating but there is always a reason for these things and think of the safety of yourself and others. I am limited with my driving as either my shoulders or my feet start to give me problems when I drive for any length of time.

While all you freeze your buts off up north we have had another hot day. It was 38*c once when I checked our thermometer. We then got a storm which was right overhead. A house a few streets away caught on fire and I think it may have been a lightening strike. Apparently they have just had their roof repaired after a tree went through in another storm.
I tried to ring Suzy today but she was not at home.
Nola, you could cut and paste the letter you sent and put it on this page. After you paste you can just delete the bits you do not want on here before you submit.
