I think this is a TOPP, so instead of a thought/quote, here's a YouTube link to the music that Julie is learning, hope I'm right. It's being played on a cello.

Gosh, I know how to stop a conversation!
Just waiting for the dog-clipper to arrive. This woman is the dog-whisperer and Jewel loves her more than anyone else. She knows that she inherits Jewel if anything happens to both of us.

I think I mentioned the leak in our kitchen during the rain a few weeks ago. That insurance claim is all going fine.
Then, yesterday morning Col noticed that our walk-in-robe carpet was wet and realised there was a leak from the ensuite shower on the other side of the wall. Put in a call to the company who built it only a few months ago. They will find it and fix it. We knew that and he has insurance to cover it. Just a bit more inconvenience. Ho hum!
What is going to be # 3?? Things come in threes, right?

Hi, Everyone!

CynB, what great detective work! The youtube is the concerto movement I'm TRYING to learn. It will take months, I think. The fast passages are especially tough for my old arthritic fingers, so I'm likely to play it somewhat slower. It's a great brain workout! (BTW, I have no idea how you found it, as my searches only found Janos Starker playing with orchestra and a Suzuki teacher playing it at tempo, followed by a slower tempo.)

Great TOPP and TOPP + 1, Cyn!

By now, I guess Jewel is trimmed and beautiful! Our 'grand puppy' (a miniature schnauzer) is due for a trim. Because the 'spa days' are somewhat traumatic for 'Jeet,' our D is giving her a bit of a reprieve. In July Jeet was due for a teeth cleaning. The vet put her under for her X-rays, then called D saying Jeet needed 15 teeth pulled. (We now know there's a genetic pre-disposition in mini schnauzers, so all of their tooth brushing & mouth cleaning for Jeet didn't ward off the problem. She's only now seeming to be comfortable, and they're concerned about how she'll react to a bath & clipping.

Cyn, how awful you've been having problems since your reno! It's great that insurance will cover it, but the inconvenience and hassle getting things repaired & redone must be frustrating!

This year, my birthday present was the discovery of copious amounts of water flowing up around the well casing. The pump discharge line had broken, again. So far two days without running water. Hope to get it fixed, tomorrow.........

DOrA, how awful! That is NOT a birthday present! Is this a common occurrence (as you said it had broken, again)? Two days without running water is not pleasant. I hope it can be fixed quickly, or you can find somewhere to stay until it's fixed! {{{HUGS}}}

This is the second time. The first was about 3 years ago. Tomorrow I'll contact an 'expert' in an attempt to make a permanent repair.

Bought 5 gallon jugs of water and just 'camping out' until repairs are made...

Oh yes, Happy Birthday DorA. Sorry we missed it.

Julie, I just copied what you wrote about the concerto and pasted it into the search line on YouTube. It came up with a few options. I could see that girl was playing a cello so I went to it first. Pleased I got the right one, to be honest.

DOrA, I hope the days after your birthday are all MUCH more enjoyable! Happy Birthday! You certainly seem to have a good attitude about the problem! Having experienced it before seems to have helped you adjust and know what to do to get through. I hope a VERY permanent repair can be made by the expert, and without 'breaking the bank'.

Heidi, hoping tomorrow's (or maybe now it's today's) epidural is/was a doozy. Hoping you can get some rest and have no major tasks that need to be done and could limit the effectiveness!

Cyn, you may be our most effective member when it comes to searching the internet for information! Good for you. (I bet you've done some searching on ophthalmologists/surgeons and various possible treatments that could be in the works for Col.

Midge, I hope your son is home and doing well! How was the footy this past weekend?

MizT, I hope your pain levels have improved, and your phone and internet are working well!

Julie, yes I've done lots of research about Col's eye. The worst was looking at a YouTube of the way the do the Corneal Transplant. It is simply done by using an implement like a cookie cutter over the eye, cutting out the damaged cornea and replacing it with the donated one. That took a while to digest even though it is really the obvious thing to do.

Glad it was a doozy Heidi - good luck with your psych evaluation and sleep study - hope they can help you.
Julie - son is now home thank goodness. It was a worry with him so far away and on his own. Now to worry about no. 1 son - going to Las Vegas for a holiday - hope it doesn't work out to be expensive! Our team won and now in the Grand Final on Saturday - have tickets and so looking forward to it. Go Pies! My only trouble is having to walk a fair way even with disabled parking. We have the Royal Melbourne Show on at the moment and cannot go because of this. I really love the animals and the craft section. Next year I will be exhibiting gloves I have knitted in two colour 2 ply with fair isle patterns - very complicated but a joy to knit as I first did them for my mum and she was so happy (although I don't think she knew who I was at that stage). I am currently crocheting market bags and enjoying doing them as I can watch tv at the same time and don't feel like I am wasting my time.
CynB - the corneal transplant is unpleasant for the carer who puts the drops in as it is scary to see the colour the eye goes but it doesn't take long for the eye to return to 'normal'. Col will be so glad when this is all over (and so will you). Wish for a good outcome for you both.
Must be the time for leaks - one of our bathrooms was flooded over the weekend and $400 later and many soddy towels the plumber was finally able to fix it. (The 4th attempt.)
Julie I so envy you your musical talent (even though I know it is hard work). We have a piano I was hoping to tackle. So far one of my sons can do the Funeral March - he says it is for me!! Haha
Hope you are feeling better MizT - do you have any help now with your plants?
DorA - belated birthday wishes - good luck with your 'leak' too.
Best of all to everyone, Cheers.

Knowing what I know after watching the repair tradie, I could've done the job and and saved about $150.... Live and learn.

Of course it would have meant head and shoulders in a 3 ft deep hole while fitting the new section of pipe. Me thinks the expense was worth it.

Wonderful news, Heidi! So glad the epidural was a doozy! I hope the psych test went well, and hoping you are sleeping comfortably tonight for the sleep study!

Midge, what a relief it must be for you that your son is home! But now Son #1 is heading to Las Vegas! I hope he enjoys himself and returns home with nearly as much or more money than he left with.

Good luck to your team in the Grand Final on Saturday! It's a shame that you can't go to the Royal Melbourne Show. Will you be able to go next year when you'll be exhibiting the gloves? Have you posted a photo of them here? They sound lovely!

Midge, I'm sorry to hear you have also had a leak. I hope the repair will be permanent.

I must admit that I don't seem to have much musical talent - just determination. When our children were young and took piano lessons, I tried to learn to play. For the life of me, I couldn't seem to read two staffs of music at the same time. I could kind of plunk out a chord with my left hand that sort of went with the music being played by my right hand - on REALLY EASY pieces.

DOrA, hooray for the plumber! I'm so glad you have running water again, and clean dishes. Seems like you deserved that adult beverage! Based on your description of what was necessary for the repair, I would agree with you that the expense of calling in a plumber was worth it!

Thinking of you, MizT, and hoping all's well

Sending warm and positive thoughts, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, healing energy, , and prayers for everyone!

The psych evaluation went very well. So did the sleep study. I won't get the official results back for another week or two, but the technician says I won't need a c-pap machine, but I may need to go on oxygen. My lungs have still not recovered completely from the pneumonia.

Great news Heidi - everything starting to go your way finally.
DorA - it doesn't seem too expensive to keep out of that hole! Hope it is fixed for good now.
I hope no 1 son is going to come home with an intact wallet but I doubt it. He plays the US stock exchange for a living so it doesn't bode well for going to a gambling city.
Beautiful day here - sun is out and the baby birds in our work building are chirping away - I love this time of year.
Magpies are swooping - one council actually wants to eradicate them - they are only protecting their nesting area. As a child we used to wear plastic buckets on our heads on the way to school. So what's different now? It is time our 'nanny' parents taught their children to cope and enjoy these lovely birds and accept their behavior for such a short time. I love their caroling.

Hooray, Heidi! You seem to be passing all of the hurdles with flying colors! Psych eval and sleep study: done. First nutritional seminar: done. No need for a C-PAP machine! Seems like you're well on your way! Will you plan any of the scary things during the first 3 months with us?

Midge, I'm enjoying hearing about spring and the baby birds. The magpies don't sound all that scary, so why should they be eradicated? If we could avoid every scary thing in life, we'd be a bunch of wimps/pansies/spoiled children. The plastic buckets seem to be a good idea, and children could make a game of it.

Midge, I hope you're guessing wrong & your son will come home with more than an empty wallet. Hubby and I have never been to Las Vegas and don't understand the appeal, but I have some cousins who go regularly.

I'm turning into a pumpkin, so it's best that I send some {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, , healing energy, prayers, and positive thoughts for everyone!

Got the people out to fix the leak in our walk in robe only to find that the leak wasn't from the new shower but from the laundry taps that the washing machine attaches to. That wall backs onto the ensuite wall both of which are tiled. The only place the water had to run to was through into the robe. All fixed now.

My daughter, my baby, is 46 today. So we are going out for dinner with her family tonight to celebrate. It will be a strange evening because she and her husband are having problems and he has moved out temporarily. I am hopeful that they will get back together. They have been married 21 years. It was a complete shock to everyone and it was my daughter who made the call. I feel sorry for the whole family. All 4 of them are going away on their regular September beach holiday, I am hoping they come back reunited, but I doubt it.
This, of course, is just between us on this page. We won't be mentioning it on FB.

Hi, Everyone!

Hey, CynB, you got a CP ('Cereal/Serial Post')! Do the rest of you remember those from the regular Sudoku page? It seems like years ago - and I guess it was.

Cyn, I hope all goes well at the hospital on Tuesday. I think it's helpful to know ahead of time what to expect. I'm glad you and Col willl have that opportunity!

I'm glad the leak could be fixed rather easily! Was it necessary to break through any of the tiled walls to get to the plumbing? I sure hope not!

Happy Birthday to your daughter, Cyn! I hope the birthday celebration was relaxed and truly happy for all in attendance!

I hope the September beach holiday is helpful for the family to relax and remove themselves for a while from the craziness of the world! I'll be thinking of them and sending positive thoughts.

Cyn, thanks for the update on Suzy. A good book can suddenly capture hours of our time. I'm wondering if the same thing has happened to MizT. I know she enjoys a good book, as well!

Thinking of everyone and sending , healing energy, prayers, {{{{{HUG}}}}}, and positive thoughts!
