Hi all.

Suzy, I agree with Heidi, just be straight forward and tell him you are not ready for anything other than friendship.

Cyn, glad Colin had a good day out with you. Hope they find the cause and it is nothing too serious.

Update on my mom. I told her Saturday afternoon that she was not getting the car back. She b*tched but I stood my ground. Told her she could accept it and if she kept complaining I would stop talking to her. She does not want to risk losing her daughter. As for the phone calls, she does not leave messages. She will call my house, then my cell, then the house again, then my husband or kids, then my cell, house, cell etc. It is non stop until someone answers.

Suzy, what a great 'almost-TOPP'! Good advice for all of us!

DOrA, you're right, they're some hard words to follow. All we can do is keep on trying.

Suzy, we're thinking of you and hope whichever approach you take will convey the message you want conveyed! Best of luck!

Tami, good for you for standing your ground. As for the phone calls, it seems you are all on 'speed dial' and your Mom is determined to talk to someone. Good luck to you and all of your family members. I assume cell phones need to be silenced when anyone is at school or work. Of course, that would probably contribute to her frustration, but there isn't much that can be done about that. Does she just want to talk to another human being? Wishing all of you luck dealing with it.

Broni, how's the puppy. Hopefully not wearing you out with her antics!

It's been a few days since MizT or Midge have popped in. I hope everyone is well! I think Heidi was here yesterday, & hope all is going well leading up to surgery.

Sending lots of happy, positive thoughts, healing energy, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, prayers, and for everyone!

Had a dental appointment today. First was to start work on replacing the last tooth I broke off, and then we were going to fix a small cavity in another tooth. We spent 4 hours working on the first tooth (I now have a temporary) and decided to repair the cavity in a couple weeks.

What kind of puppy did Broni get? I missed that.

Wow, Heidi! What a dental appointment! I hope the cavity repair in a few weeks is quicker! I also hope your mouth & jaw aren't too sore from such a long procedure.

I think Broni's new basset hound is named Abby. I'm not positive, though.

It's way too late, and I need to get to bed. Sending healing energy, prayers, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, positive thoughts, and

Hello everyone! I seem to have been busy this week. Have had Emily over here, she does her driving lessons through a local driving school so starts from here. Then when she went home, her sister Hayley came over for the 2 of us to go to a sculpting workshop where we made shore birds for an upcoming exhibition. I did some a few weeks ago at Art classes but they hadn't got their quota so asked for more help. We had a great time. And, we will be credited when the exhibition opens in December. So excited that my artwork will be exhibited, even though I only contributed 4 birds to the over 300 that were done!
Hayley is still here and she and I are going shopping today and then I drop her to her Dad's so she can get ready for her date tonight. New man, hope this one is nicer than the last who didn't impress.

I had my follow-up from my sleep study today. Not good. I HAVE to go on oxygen at night or I will not be allowed to have the bariatric surgery. They said that when I sleep, my levels drop dangerously low.

Cyn, how exciting that 4 of your bird sculptures will be exhibited and you'll receive credit! Congratulations! Will Hayley also have a bird sculpture in the exhibition? If so, many congratulations to her, as well! Will you be going to the exhibition? Do you have any photos of the birds you sculpted? If so, we'd love to see them!

I kind of understand your excitement, though you are definitely far more artistic than I could ever hope to be. The women's group of the national woodturning organization we belong to put out a call for wooden spinning tops in January. Four members of our club submitted a top. The tops were gathered into a collection of between 40 and 50 tops that were sold as a collection in an auction at the national wood turning symposium. A book was published listing all of those who contributed as well as a photo of their spinning top. It was so exciting to see the book!

Heidi, I'm glad you got the results of your sleep study. It's better to know what's happening so you can deal with it! I've been using a C-PAP machine for years, but I have no idea what my oxygen levels are. I just know I have many episodes of apnea. You might find that you wake up far more rested and may feel better generally if you go on oxygen at night. {{{HUGS}}}. It is what it is, and you will no doubt feel better as your body gets used to the higher oxygen levels.

Hello my friends.
'It is what it is' Gail used to say that when she was here and on TOS, family and grandchildren have her attention now.
Heidi, I keep forgetting you are not on TOS, the love of my life Lowset Dame Abigail aka Abby aka Princess Abigail Wigglebottom is named after Pauley Perrette who played Abby in NCIS. I will download some photos just for you. I am going back to Gin Gin next week to see the breeder and see if she is suitable for showing, this will be just for fun and to socialise her.
Sending loving hugs to you all.

Broni, thank you so much for sharing Abby's photos. It would be fun for both of you (I think) if you are able to show her. What a great idea for socializing her. Our neighbor has a curly coated retriever that she shows occasionally. She's learned to just do it for fun and not get caught up in the emotions. Good luck, if that's the route you both choose to follow. She looks like a sweetheart! Thanks for popping in for a visit!

Checking in because I cannot remember when I last posted here. Still trying to recover from all the unsuccessful medication changes, and gear up for other new medication. the blood pressure med really was frightful, mostly because the first symptom was confusion and inability to concentrate. Took about 3 weeks to decide that maybe all that was happening was because of the new medication. Now he wants to try another. I am not happy with this, but will start again Sunday night, not now when no one will be in the office in case needed. Rheumatologist wants to try another medication for the inflammation, one of the disease modifying drugs. Asked if I could take sulfa, I told him I was not sure, but looking at my records of drugs that caused problems, find they have given me problems. Living alone, there is no one to notice if I am behaving differently. Not sure what to do next.

I am sure what I need to do now, and that is get myself to bed. Past time, my meds are making me sleepy as planned, so good night to all. Hugs to each of you till next time.

Do we change clocks tomorrooooow night?

Suzy and Saltie, I can't remember the last time I shaved my legs. My hair isn't really blonde, more a light brown, but now graying. I mostly wear slacks, shorts only rarely and only in the house. If hubby cares, he hasn't mentioned it. There's certainly less bristly stubble than when I shaved my legs every couple of days.

MizT, I hope they get your medications sorted out soon and find one or two that do the trick without crazy side effects! When you try a new medication, can someone from the office or a friend check in on you once a day, at least for the first few days or week?

MIzT, yes, the official change of time (fall BACK) is at 2 a.m. on Sunday, but most people just turn back their clocks before going to bed.

Tami, I hope all is going well with your Mom.

Thinking of everyone and sending warm, positive thoughts, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, healing energy, prayers, and ! Good Night!

Hi all. I don't always shave my legs regularly either. Hubby doesn't say anything. When it annoys me enough I shave. I do tend to shave more in summer than winter. I just don't care what people think anymore. Mom is still annoying me but she knows she is not getting the car back. It now belongs to my oldest son. If one of us can't take her where she needs to go, I will hire a driver for her.

Not posting on TOS yet so I can post here. Dylan received his first college acceptance the other day to University of Central Florida. He is still waiting to hear from 2 others. One he will not know about until at least Feb. 9. As he said, the pressure is off. UCF was one of his top 2 choices so there is no problem.

Tami, I admire your strength in doing what's right to keep your Mom and other people safe. You're doing the right (but certainly difficult) thing! Good for you.

Congratulations to Dylan. What a relief to know that one of his top 2 schools has accepted him. Now it's just a waiting game to find out which of his other choices responds favorably. (Probably both of the other 2!)

I'm hoping to get to bed soon-ish. So, here is the daily dose of healing energy, prayers, , {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, and positive thoughts for all of you!

Risqué, maybe a little Risky, but I’ll take a chance… (Actually I'm ''going out on a limb'', here.)

The Husband Store

A store that sells new husbands has opened in Nashville, where a woman may go to choose a husband. Among the instructions at the entrance is a description of how the store operates:

You may visit this store ONLY ONCE!
There are six floors and the value of the products increase as the shopper ascends the flights. The shopper may choose any item from a particular floor, or may choose to go up to the next floor, but you cannot go back down except to exit the building!

So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband. On the first floor the sign on the door reads:

Floor 1 - These men Have Jobs

She is intrigued, but continues to the second floor, where the sign reads:

Floor 2 - These men Have Jobs and Love Kids.

'That's nice,' she thinks, 'but I want more.'

so she continues upward. The third floor sign reads:

Floor 3 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, and are Extremely Good Looking.

'Wow,' she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going.

She goes to the fourth floor and the sign reads:

Floor 4 These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Good Looking and Help With Housework.

'Oh, mercy me!' she exclaims, ' I can hardly stand it!'

Still, she goes to the fifth floor and the sign reads:

Floor 5 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Gorgeous, Help with Housework, and Have a Strong Romantic Streak.

She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the sixth floor , where the sign reads:

Floor 6 - You are visitor 31,456,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please.

Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store.

Just to show that I believe in equality -

To avoid gender bias charges, the store's owner opened a New Wives store just across the street.

The First Floor has wives that love six.

The Second Floor has wives that love six and have money and like beer.

The Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Floors have never been visited.

Good ones DorA!

Sorry I haven't been here much lately. Our lives have been so incredibly dull because Col is so miserable and uncomfortable. His bad eye and the supposed good one are constantly streaming, as is his nose - he described it as a 3 week (so far) head cold. The aversion to light is awful. He can't go out, he can't watch television, he can't go online, even though we have cut brightness down to a minimum. It was 3 weeks on Monday. We expected that he would be on the mend by now. The graft is doing fine but the aversion to light is because of the absence of a lens in his right eye. Since that can't be amended for 12 months, we have to come up with coping strategies. Nothing has worked so far.
He really needs a pirate patch.

Hi, CynB! Has Col spoken to the doctor about using a patch part-time? I'm not sure if his eye needs to have good air circulation. If that's the case, use of a patch might be limited. But I would think it's worth asking. Is he still unwilling to try wearing a baseball cap? What about a visor? Something with black fabric on the lower side to cut down on glare? I found a 'Solergy Visor Glare Blocking Wrap Around Polarized Sunglasses, 100% UVA/UVB protection for sports and every day use. cushioned case, XL cleaning cloth & sport band included' on U.S. version of Amazon for $49.97 (link follows: https://www.amazon.com/Solergy-Polarized-Sunglasses-protection-cushioned/dp/B009SYTFG4?SubscriptionI d=AKIAILSHYYTFIVPWUY6Q&tag=duckduckgo-d-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B009S YTFG4
