Heidi, sometimes it pays to have realistic expectations, so you can be pleasantly surprised when things turn out better than you expected!

I hope the truck didn't get sprayed by the skunk, Heidi! It's bad enough that a couple of your dogs were sprayed.

Here's hoping that your trip to the pain management clinic provided lots of relief, Heidi!

LOL, DOrA!

Heidi, I'm glad you got more than you expected for the cows.

Thinking of everyone and hoping you have had or will have a wonderful holiday! Sending healing energy, prayers, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, positive thoughts, and

We decided to delay the epidural because I suspect that the first round of antibiotics didn't entirely destroy the staph infection in my sinuses. So the back still hurts. But at least I now have my pain pills again.

Okay, I thought I saw the light at the end of the tunnel. Just a few more bills and I’d be back in the black. A couple of months at most and I’d have my head above water and be able to put stuff away for the future. Then a pipe burst. Insurance covers any damage done, but not the pipe repair. Back to square minus 50.

greetings friends, I did not realize I had been away so long. busy with holiday stuff, having to do a bit at a time. I have finished and delivered 56 Christmas cards to friends here in our community. We go around and leave cards pushed under the door, so no expenditure for stamps. Took longer as my cards were blank inside, each message was written in, specific for that person,

My P
BP has been good, taking and recording that several times a day. The low bottom numbers have come up to normal, probably still just potassium in my system for a while. the leg cramps seem to be better. I went Saturday last to my sisters for our family Christmas. Enjoyed, but one sister could not make the trip from Georgia, bummer.

We are having pot luck lunch on Christmas Day for anyone who has already celebrated with family, as I have. I am making a BIG pan of southern cornbread sage dressing. Made it last year, and every bite was eaten. Gravy and cranberry sauce to go with. I have started making the cornbread already, a bit each day cause that is how I do it now

Past my bedtime, I read some of the posts, need to do more to catch up. Hope soon, Hugs to each of you with extras, till later,

Heidi, I'm sorry you didn't have the epidural. Will you have another antibiotic prescription to fight off the staph infection? At least you were able to get your pain medication.

DOrA, I also saw that this morning. The guy who developed the 'package' has some clever ideas. Apparently there have been many thieves stealing items delivered to houses, especially at this time of year.

Suzy, I'm so sorry about the pipe bursting. At least we know it didn't freeze. So, just wear and tear? I'm glad the damage is covered. I hope the repair can be done economically.

Thinking of everyone. I know this is a busy time of year for everyone. We're making some progress at our house, but much still to be done. I'm about to head to bed in the hopes of getting a good night's sleep. Sending many warm {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, healing energy, , positive thoughts, and prayers for everyone!

I just brought home 2 Belgian Malinois. They're 11 month old brother and sister. Real sweethearts. The male is named Smokey and the female is named Heidi. I may have to change her name.

Congratulations on your new puppies, Heidi. I think Heidi is a cute name for the female. Do you think having two Heidis in the house is too much? Will she be confused if you rename her? Does it need to be a name that sounds somewhat similar? How about Bridie or non-rhyming Riley, Kiley or even Miley? I'm sure you have much better ideas. We anxiously await photos of the sweeties.

I hope everyone is making progress in preparations for family gatherings, if they'll be happening. I should be working now. Just thought I'd pop in, as I'm not sure if I'll be able to in the next few days. Sending warm wishes, positive thoughts, healing energy, prayers, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, and for all of you!

I'm thinking Hedy, as in Hedy Lamar. She was a brilliant and beautiful woman. Meanwhile, since she knows the name Heidi, I'm calling her that while they adjust to their new home.
I won't be sharing photos until they put on quite a bit of weight. Their owner had been neglecting them and frequently forgot to feed them. They're both walking skeletons. The person I got them from was the owner of their sire. SHE cared about their welfare and insisted that their owner sell them to me. Because of the neglect, I got them for just $350 each. This is a breed that normally sells for $2000+ each. I lucked out. I think Smokey and Heidi/Hedy did too. They seem deliriously happy here.

Welcome to Heidi's farm, and by extension, Sudokuaholics Anonymous, Smokey and Heidi/Hedy! I'm sorry they had a rough start with their former owner, but so glad that their sire's owner stepped in to get them a better home! I'm not surprised that they're happy to be with you! We will gladly wait for photos until they have had some time to be fed on a regular basis. I'm glad you were able to get them for a good price, and I'm sure their sire's owner is thrilled to find them a good home!

Thinking of everyone as I get back to work/cleaning. It has been a frustrating day with many unanswered or unreturned phone calls as we try to firm up plans while visitors are with us.

Sending warm holiday thoughts and wishes, , healing energy, prayers, and {{{{{HUGS}}}}}!

DOrA, that's an interesting idea! My hubby says part of my problem is that I am a controlling person. I'll admit to that, at least partially. Another part of the problem is that I'm running out of time and getting easily frustrated. I know everything won't be ready in time and hate to lose the little time I have to waiting for others. Oh, well! Back to work!

Sending healing energy, prayers, , {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, and positive thoughts to Everyone!

DOrA, thanks for sharing the 'feel-good' story.

Oh, Heidi, not another skunk experience! I hope there won't be any more. I would have thought that there would be fewer during the colder winter months. Maybe that's just because I have not had experiences with skunks in the winter.

I found the information about the Australian boy and his find after reading what DOrA posted.

I actually made some progress today, but still MUCH to do, so I'm heading back to work. Sending warm & positive thoughts, , healing energy, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, and prayers.

Oh my goodness, I haven't been here for days, we're even on a new page!! That's what Christmas does to us.
It's Christmas Eve here already. Shopping done, gifts wrapped - just some last minute cooking to be done. Our celebrations are at my daughter's place this year. A fairly low key Brunch because both families of grandies are off for lunch with their other grandparents. We will come home. We are not big drinkers but found a new sensation recently of Ouzo and orange juice. Bought some freshly squeezed juice today. Tomorrow afternoon we veg out, drink a little too much in our own home and eat leftovers when we feel we can eat again.

Thanks for warning about the space, DOrA. I forgot to look for it.

CynB, it's good to 'see' you. I certainly understand how the 'busy-ness' of the season can have an impact on our day-to-day activities! Your holiday plans sound great! How nice to be able to spend some time at home & just relax! I've not had ouzo, so I'm not sure how it would taste with orange juice. Right now, I could really use some freshly squeeze O.J.!

Thank you for the bright and cheery Christmas greetings, Cyn!

Broni, how nice to see a post from you! Wishing you the very best and relaxing Christmas! Love your Santa!

Wishing all of our Sudokuaholic Friends a very Merry Christmas! and Happy New Year or whichever joyful holiday that you celebrate with family and friends!

It's quite likely that I may miss the next few days, so I'm sending an extra supply of healing energy, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, prayers, positive thoughts, and

Still Christmas Eve morning here. I need to chop veg for the dressing I am making for our pot luck lunch tomorrow, and make the orange/cranberry relish, and gravy. I will mix everything for the dressing today, and bake in the morning.

Residents here got an unexpected gift Saturday. A friend of a staff member brought a lot, a truck load really, of Christmas potted plants from his florist shop. He did this last year also, just anything Christmas related that had not sold by time he closed for the holiday. I got a nice large red kalanchole , last year one I received bloomed until spring. So happy to have this bit of cheer.

into the kitchen with me, chop the onion and celery, thaw the drippings from the Thanksgiving turkey, grate the orange peel, that should keep me busy for a few.

Best wishes for a very happy holiday season and a Happy New Year to all! Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Home from my brother’s house. It will be the last event they host there. It has been amazing how well they have done coming together for events like this since my SIL moved out almost a year ago. When my nice and her bf finish building their home, the house will go on the market. It won’t be cheap to buy. It’s absolutely perfect except for internet. Though they were told different, it just doesn’t work out there.

It’s really really hot. I was going to use Australian slang, but decided not to get kicked out. I was melting up there!

I don’t know if I told you or just tos, but a few months ago I saw an advertisement for a concert about 2km away with bands that were big in my music era. Unfortunately the tickets are over $100 each so I resigned myself to seeing if I could hear from my back yard. My brother bought me a ticket for Xmas!

Greetings to Everyone! Belated Christmas greetings. The last few days before Christmas we were on 'high alert' trying to get everything done. Well, we didn't quite make it, but our children and grannies all arrived mostly on schedule. (There was a flight delay which helped only a tittle.) This is the first time I've turned on the computer to check here or emails. Haven't even been in touch with siblings. The house is once again empty and mostly quiet. (Hubby keeps the TV on and loud.) Son, though I thought of everyone, my Christmas wishes for all of you were delayed.

Merry Merry Christmas to all of you. And, just in case it takes me as long to recover and find the things stuffed in boxes, I'm also sending good wishes for a wonderful and healthy New Year!
