Good Evening, Everyone! I finally have a bit of time to get caught up on my reading here.

Heidi, what a shame you finally found your friend from when you both worked in a zoo, only to find that he had recently passed. I'm so sorry. Thanks for sharing the link to information about him! It sounds like he was a lovely man.

CynB, I hope you will soon get some rain and put the drought and possibility for bush fires behind you.

Heidi, thanks for sharing the good news from the bariatric surgeon! I hope you're as pleased as he is! You certainly deserve the good results because of you effort!

Hi, Midge, you expressed a desire to retire. Is there any hope of the happening in the coming year? Congrats on selling one of the cars!

Nice to see you here, saltie! We would be happy to see a post from you that says Hi! Long posts are not necessary.

DOrA, I like your household tip about cats, and I'm glad you didn't find that out from experience. Cats certainly prefer to make their messes on the carpet, rather than an easily cleaned floor.

Thanks for the TOPP, Can! Excellent advice!

AAARRGH! I also forgot that it's 'Talk Like a Pirate Day,' now nearly over. I hope everyone has enjoyed the day!

Hi, Everyone! I just read my comment above this one. I apologize, Cyn! For some reason, my computer often 'corrects' your name to Can, especially when it's the first word of a sentence. I will try to remember to check for that before hitting 'Submit.'

Heidi, I hope the days are passing swiftly and you're able to deal with your pain!

I hope the weekend is off to a great start for our friends down under, and hope the rest of us will soon be starting a relaxing weekend!

Today has been one of those 'crazy-busy' days. Unfortunately for hubby, yesterday was even more so. We're hoping to find some time for relaxing in the next couple of days, and wish the same for everyone here!

Thinking of all of our fellow Sudokuaholics and sending warm and positive thoughts, healing energy, prayers, , and {{{{{HUGS}}}}} for each of you!

Julie, I knew what you meant! I answer to any name beginning with C or even S. I have been called Sylvia, Celeste etc. Lol

We're off to an 'All British Day'this morning. A gathering of classic British cars and their owners. We own a Triumph Herald but it broke down last time we went out in it and hasn't been fixed, so it won't be going with us. I love British cars, my Dad always owned them and I've had a few myself, an Austin and a Jaguar.

Everyone!

Cyn, I'm glad you don't mind too much when addressed by the wrong name. (Luckily, the computer didn't 'self-correct' this time.)

The 'All British Day' sounds like fun, Cyn! (Computer tried to correct it this time.) I hope you enjoyed it and saw lots of British cars! How lucky that you have previously been an owner of an Austin and a Jaguar. Hubby and I (and all of our relatives) have never owned a British car, but certainly enjoy looking at them and watching them. He really enjoyed watching 'Top Gear,' a British TV program about cars and challenges. I think it is now off the air, but he has recently found a few reruns to watch.

Thinking of you, Heidi, and your dogs (including Reeses), your alpacas, birds, horses, cows, and assorted residents at your farm. I hope you have been able to deal with the pain. (Only a few more days until your appointment, I think.)

I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend! Sending positive thoughts, healing energy, , {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, and prayers for each of you and your loved ones!

Still very quiet on here.
I'll be waiting in a few hours for a car air-con repairman to arrive and fix the air in our car. After our 3-4 hours of strolling around the British car display on Sunday, we got back to our car which had been parked in the sun all that time, to find no a/c. Nothing! It was so uncomfortable. I wonder how I lived so much of my earlier life without a/c in any car. Windows down, I think.

Hooray, Heidi! You survived the time without your pain meds. I'm so glad you feel like a new person! That is FANTASTIC!

WOW, CynB! That would have been a warm car when you got back to it, probably really looking forward to turning the air conditioning on for your drive home! I'm trying to remember when we first had air conditioning in a car - probably around 30 years ago. I know we didn't have it when our children were infants, toddlers, or lower grades at school. I certainly hope the automotive air conditioning repairman has your car A/C in working order again!

I hope everyone is well and having a great start to the week! We have been so busy - basically the last 6 months or so. I think we need to slow down a little. I just don't know which of our commitments we can eliminate.

Sending healing energy, positive thoughts, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, prayers, and for Everyone! Take care and stay safe!

I feel SO well rested, finally. I got my first full night's sleep in 2 1/2 weeks last night. Bless the inventors of methadone.

Now that I've rejoined the human race, I need to get work done. My lawn is in desperate need of mowing. I was hurting too much before to sit on the mower for an hour and a half. And that's with my new Bad Boy Zero-Turn mower with 54'' (137 cm) cut. It's a fancy mower. It even has a fuel gauge like a car. First lawn mower I ever saw with a fuel gauge.

Heidi, glad you're feeling great! About time. It must be a fancy mower to have a fuel gauge. Sounds good.
Julie, the talk of aircon in cars got me to thinking abou when i first had or drove a car with air-con. It must have been in the early 80's when my partner at the time had a Jaguar. I used to drive it occasionally and it had aircon but it was so cold and wasn't easy to regulate, so I'd drive with it on until I felt like I was a block of ice, then I'd turn it off until I'd start sweltering. Fun times!

I got the lawn around the house mowed. I'm going to do the lawn around the parking area and around the barns and barn lot tomorrow. I got tired out after having to get more gas for the mower (it holds 5 gallons) and unloading 100 ibs of dog food.

My bull, Duke, had an injury to his reproductive organ last Spring. I hoped it would heal, but it hasn't. He's now sterile. We just loaded him up in a trailer and he's off to the sale barn in the morning.

Hi, All!

Such good news that you had a good night's sleep, Heidi, and were able to do some mowing. I hope the 100 pounds of dog food weren't too much for you to be lifting! Your new lawn mower sounds wonderful, Heidi! Good for you!

Wow, CynB! I guess that was the early days of car air con with the Jaguar. I could just imagine you driving with it on until you became an ice cube, then driving with it off until you could wring yourself out. NOT a pleasant way to drive, but I suppose it would help to keep you alert/awake on a boring drive.Thank goodness for the improvements made since then!

Heidi, I'm sorry to hear about your bull, Duke. I hope you get a good price for him at the sale barn. Will you be in search of a replacement? (Sorry, I can't remember how many cows you have.)

I hope everyone is well. It's been a while since Suzy has posted, and a long time since MizT has been able to drop by. I hope she has finally found some pain relief!

I need to get some more practicing done tonight, as I have a cello lesson tomorrow, so I need to wrap things up. Sending an abundant supply of {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, healing energy, , positive thoughts, and prayers for Everyone!

Pleased to hear you have your pain relief back on track Heidi. Besides all the work you have to catch up on you will enjoy your animals more. I would love to see them all - your place sounds wonderful. I spent a lot of my youth on a sheep farm and loved it. (Except for crutching time)
Glad no. 5 is behind you CynB and Col is still going ok. Side effects from meds can be cr*ppy. I understand the cold and numbness only too well - anti-rejection meds do that too. Hopefully with your warmer weather it will not be too uncomfortable for him. Sometimes all the little changes when you are having treatment become just too hard to put up with at times. I too had a British car - not as fancy as a Jag - a Hillman I had to push start every time. Blasted nuisance it was. My first car was a Vauxhall Viva - dad made me pull the engine out and put it back together again so i would never get stuck on my own with it and would know what to do - I don;t think my daughter could even change a tyre now.

Good morning,
Yes, Chemo #5 is over and done with. It's really been savage with the reflux. He had a very uncomfortable night until about 3am. He's still sleeping now and I'll leave him asleep for as long as he needs, we don't have anything planned.
I never learnt how to change a tyre. About all I can do is check the oil. That's bad, I know. I am a capable person in many ways but mechanics is not one.

I am about to start on another project. I already have a partly finished mosaic tabletop, some decoupage, a few watercolour projects and some knitting for charity on the go. Now I am putting all of these on hold to do a photobook for my grandson Lachlan, who turns 21 on November 2nd and is having a big party on the night. I want to put together a book of our memories (Col's and mine) with him. He's our only grandson, oldest grandchild and he and Col have always had a great relationship as do he and I. I have given myself one week to do this. Today I start trawling through hundreds of photos. We have listed many memories to feature, now to see if I can find a record of them.

Great news, Cyn (and Col)! Being almost half way through the chemo is wonderful news! Hopefully you both had a very good day!

Wow, Midge! Your Dad obviously wanted you to be very prepared with your car! To pull out the engine and put it back together is a big undertaking, but certainly would help you to understand the workings of the car! It must have been a bit aggravating to have to always push start it.

Cyn, what a wonderful idea to make a book of memories for Lachlan! It will be a lot of work, but I'm sure he will greatly appreciate it! I hope you can find all the photos you are hoping to find. It's a big undertaking! As you sort through photos, you might want to be on the look-out for photos you could use for your granddaughters, in case you should decide to do something similar for them when they turn 21.

Sending positive thoughts, , {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, healing energy, and prayers for Everyone!

Hi, Everyone!

It's already into the weekend Down Under and just starting in the Northern Hemisphere. It seems like I may be the only one who doesn't have much of a life. I did quite a bit of practicing today; did some cleaning; prepared and ate a dinner meal, and actually have already cleaned up, including hand washing & drying dishes, pots & pans - with hubby's help, no less. It's been a long day, and I think he has fallen asleep in the recliner without even turning on the TV. We have made the transition to autumn, including shorter days and longer nights. Besides the snow and cold of winter, I dislike having less daylight.

Thinking of everyone and sending healing energy, , prayers, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, and positive thoughts!

I've got to 88 photos to decide on for Lachlan. Now to go through the hard drive for some more that I couldn't find elsewhere. I can't find a photo of his first car that he and Col bought when he was still 15. He has only just replaced it!!

Col's reflux is a lot better today. We've been up to the cancer unit to get his pump unhooked. That always cheers him up. He's got used to dealing with the pump (his man bag, we call it) but it gets in the way of any movement.

Cyn, you're doing great if you've already gathered 88 photos! I hope you can find some photos of Lachlan's first car. No doubt he and Col took quite a few photos documenting the work they did on it!

Great news that Col's reflux is better today! Also, apparently it's quite a relief when they unhook his pump! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Heidi, I hope you're continuing to feel much better and enjoying your birds, dogs, alpacas, cows, and horses! If you got to the sale barn, I hope you got a good price for Duke!

Nope, I got a lousy price. Mike took him to a sale barn that I don't like, and I got half of what I would have gotten at my favorite place.

I'll tell you what is really weird. I just looked at the ads on this page (I still get ads I don't subscribe any more) and found it was some real estate ads including a photo of the house next door to us that is on the market.

I decided to change avatars. I found this one of our dog Jewel when she was a puppy. She is now over 11 years old and showing no signs of ageing. She bailed up a carpet snake outside our back door the other night and didn't let up until it got back into our boat where it has hibernated all winter.

Did some serious weeding today to get a paddock ready for alpacas. It was full of burdock, and that stuff can ruin their fleeces. I filled 5 large trash bags with the stuff. I've decided to get a male alpaca instead of paying stud fees, and he'll have to be kept seperately most of the time. This particular paddock has a built-in shelter.

Julie - sounds like a good weekend - with all of the running around you do it would have been nice to catch up on things to be done at home.
We have had an up/down week - first of all Double the Magic won her race well but we couldn't change the syndicate vote (55/45%) to sell her. Some of them want to invest in the new horses coming in to spring racing now. She was sold on Inglis online auction during the week to a trainer/breeder in Western Australia. They intend to keep racing her for this season. Sad to see her go. Had new floor finished and room painted - no. 1 son moved into it yesterday. He leaves for Chile next Sunday but still cannot focus properly, eyes painful and has tinnitus. Worried about him but he feels he has to get away from everything - this assault has really turned his life upside down. He is hoping to sell his car today - someone will get a bargain - he only wants 6k for it, 2011 Audi with 86k on the clock - barely driven, and he bought it new. Mediation for my court case tomorrow and starting to get nervous, I wish it was all over, it has taken 6 years.
Sorry you got such a lousy price for Duke - will you be getting another bull? How many cows do you have left now Heidi?
It is creepy to be stalked CynB - I wonder how much info of our private lives is spread around amongst these parasites.
Cheers to everyone

On Saturday morning I'm going to look at some more alpacas. I've decided to get a male or 2 for breeding. I may being home another female as well. I find the alpacas easier to manage than the cattle.... and I'm down to only 5 cows and a bunch of calves (only one of which is a heifer).
