CynB, our system may be more complicated, or maybe it's just me. We also have problems waiting for snail mail information to come in. I just want it all to be done!

Heidi, hooray for a quiet day with only a few quick errands!

Great (and well timed) TOPP, CynB!

My heart says chocolate and wine, but my jeans say, please, please, please eat a salad!

One minute you're young and fun. Next, you're turning down the car stereo to see better.

I'd grow my own food if only I could find bacon seeds.

Losing weight doesn't seem to be working for me, so from now on I'm going to concentrate on getting taller.

Some people are like clouds, once they disappear it's a beautiful day.

Some people you're glad to see coming; some people you're glad to see going.

Common sense is not a gift. It's a punishment because you have to deal with everyone else who doesn't have it.

It's raining lightly today. Just enough to keep things damp. We're supposed to have rain and thunderstorms for the next 3 days. I had been planning on mowing today, but that's been postponed.

Thunder's transmission is acting up again. At least they gave me a 1 year warranty on it. It's just an inconvenience.

thanks DorA - needed a smile.
So sorry about Sandy Heidi - she was lucky to have you in her life.
We are still in the apartment and trying to rent a house or townhouse for the next 6 months. Very hard to find one that is furnished. Can't stay where we are unless they come up with a 1br as well as it is not fair on son no. 2 to have us oldies around all the time. He is busy trying to clear out everything from our house - we are about 2/3 the way. No. 3 in quarantine in Darwin (Howard Springs) - the security come around on golf carts to check on them. He is allowed outside on a small balcony during the day but otherwise inside his little room. They wake them up with the fire alarm - could only happen here. He didn't tell them he is a diabetic so has had a bit of a problem with sugar levels. We will be very slowly coming out of lockdown over the next 2 months and we still have covididiots who steadfastly refuse to be vaccinated holding protest rallies. If they weren't going to affect other people, i couldn't care less about them.
Hope you all stay stay safe. Cheers.

My pain management doctor put me on a couple of new meds. I finally read the information sheet, and it says it can make you drowsy. NOW I know what my problem is. I'm gonna stop taking it and discuss it eith the doc in 3 weeks. I REALLY feel out of it.

More people in the US have died from the Covid pandemic than died from the 1918 Flu. And yet, a lot of people here still refuse to wear masks, practice social distancing or get vaccinated.

I figured out one reason I'm feeling so crummy. My new pain management doctor prescribed a muscle relaxant for me recently. I finally realized that I have been out of it ever since I started taking it. I'm going to stop taking it and see if I feel better.

Heidi, maybe Thunder just doesn't like the weather. I sure am glad you have a 1-year warranty on the transmission!

Midge, I hope you'll be able to find a furnished townhouse or home so you can have some room for everyone! You and son #2 are making good progress on clearing out your house! Quarantine in Darwin certainly doesn't sound enjoyable. Sorry for son #3. I know you will be so relieved when you can finally come out of lock-down! What a crazy time this has been! If only the crazies could finally wake up to the need for masks, social distancing, and vaccinations! Hubby got his Pfizer booster a couple of days ago. We still need to consult a few of my doctors for an opinion if I should get the booster.

Heidi, it's too bad your new pain doctor didn't take the time to explain the new medicines and their side effects!

DOrA, yep, that sounds about right. The New Year is just around the corner.

I'm off to bed. We have another busy day.

We have a large Covid outbreak in NSW which wasn't managed well by their powers that be in the early stages, so they are getting daily figures over 1000, and several deaths as well. It spread to Victoria and caused their lockdown after them already being in one long lockdown, thanks to NSW, it's on again. Our State, the other side of NSW, closed it's borders and we have short snap lockdowns if there is a case. Each has worked brilliantly and we are living normal lives, except that we must have masks in public if we can't distance. Our state is thriving, businesses are mostly doing okay. Tourism is down.
But the criticism of our Premier and Health officer is vicious and nasty both from NSW and Federal governments and the media. Fortunately she is a strong, tough woman who doesn't let it get to her. Bravo, Annastacia, love you and thank you for keeping us safe.

I heard last night that 2000 people A DAY are dying from COVID in the USA right now. This is insane. The only good part is that this is Darwinism working. It's mostly the covidiots that are dying.

The horses decided to make me walk to the far end of the 12 acre pasture in the pouring rain to get them. Naughty horses. The kittens were fascinated to watch the farrier in action. This was the first time they'd seen such excitement in the barn. Definitely broke the monotony of a rainy day for them. They were smart enough to avoid getting under the horse's feet, too.

Heidi, I hadn't heard about 2,000 people a day dying, but heard that the death toll is now higher than from the 'Spanish Flu' in 1918.

Your farrier likes to get an early start, Heidi! It sure would have been nice if the horses had been more cooperative. Do any of them respond to a whistle or being called? I guess you didn't need to worry about getting enough exercise today. . It's nice that the kittens enjoyed watching the farrier in action.

DOrA, another great list of 'ponderables.'Thanks so much! I can definitely relate to them!

The horses normally come running when I whistle. They just decided to refuse this time. I think it was the heavy rain and arthritis issues. Most are elderly.

Heidi, I imagined that you would be able to whistle to bring in the horses, so was surprised you had to go get them. A rainy day combined with arthritis are a good explanation for their reluctance to 'come running' when you whistled.

DOrA, another great one! You must have quite a source! I really have been looking forward to your posts!

What a day! I've been working on taxes all day, except for meals. It's now after 2 a.m. Friday morning, and we need to deliver to the accountant during the day on Friday. His office isn't handicap accessible, and I'm still in the wheelchair (because the bone in my foot isn't healing) and hubby is currently using a walker. I guess we'll need to call ahead and ask someone to come out to the car to pick up everything we have found & hopefully prepared.

I'm enjoying the cooler Fall weather. It's funny, but it was a scorcher on the last day of summer, then the temperature plummeted the next day. It went from a low of 74˚F/ 23.3˚C at night to a low of 48˚F/ 8.9˚C..... and it's stayed cool. The alpacas are especially enjoying it.

Taking it easy today. I got all the mowing done yesterday, and then the ear started bleeding rather heavily. So I decided to take a day off from any but essential feeding chores.

We're back up into the upper 80's duting the day and mid-70's at night. I was really enjoying the cooler temps. At least I know they'll be back.
Mike's steers are leaving Friday evening. The ancient cow will be put down over the weekend. It's been hard work trying to keep her in the best flesh possible by feeding her heavily on soft food.
The chickens aren't laying as many eggs as before. I'm getting only a dozen a day right now.

My back is in major spasm today. I have no idea why. I'm spending most of the day on my bed with a heating pad to try to relax the muscle spasms. I think I'm going to resort to one of those muscle relaxants that the doctor prescribed... the ones I had such a bad reaction to. They knocked me out for 12 hours when I took the prescribed dosage. But better that then this pain. All I have to do tomorrow is pen up the 2 steers for Mike to pick up. That will be easy. No errands to do.

The back is still bad, but a little bit better than yesterday. I was able to get down to the barn and do the feeding, with the help of a cane. I got the steers penned up in the barn and ready to load up in a couple of hours. They got a good feeding and they have plenty of water.

Hi, Everyone!

Heidi, I'm glad to read that your back is a little bit better than yesterday! It amazes me what you can get accomplished in spite of the pain you must deal with. It must be a relief that you got the steers penned up in the barn (with plenty of food and water) and ready to be loaded
