Mum is well, thank you for asking.

Good! I tried to talk to mine but she is on her way home and reception was too bad to hear her. Hopefully she will call later.

I think part of the problem with Mum last week is it turns out she had a case of food poisoning which we didn't know about. When we heard about her condition, given her heart problems, it didn't sound good. The doc changed her meds because she was retaining fluid and she got over the food poisoning (which was causing her not to eat therefore becoming very weak) and sounds right as rain now.

And now, I must leave you beautiful friends to attend to very mundane real life stuff.
I will be back later but in case I don't catch you again, have a wongerful evening.

Gail, pleased to hear that your mother is doing ok, what a relief to actually find out what had caused her to be that ill so suddenly. Not nice it being food poisoning but better than it being her heart.

Well we lost our bowls this morning but won this afternoon.
Back played up a bit but the fact that yesterday I was on the top of the step ladder pruning a tree that had grown higher than the gutter did not help.
I asked hubby when he got home tonight to finish off the couple of bits I could not reach and went I went out he had butchered my lovely port wine magnolia.(I had a phone call or I would have been out earlier)

VIV, men and whipper snippers, yep, know about that. my hubby has learned to stop when he gets a lemon smell! keeps him from mowing down all my lemon balm that has naturalized around our back porch hehehe. After I explained it would keep away mossies/skeeters, he is careful to leave some.

Gail, glad they found what was cause of the sudden illness in your Mom. do they know what food caused the problem? Here we have had big outbreak of salmonella, from hot peppers grown in Mexico, and eaten raw in foods, espically salsa. about 1500 reported , documented cases, so many times that many for sure had it and got better on thier own. They say the salmonella is so hard on elderly and young children.

BEAN, sorry you did not make the TOPPs, I have not had good luck lately either. ALMOST had one yesterday and my modem played up!

Suzy, when Ally leaves for school tomorrow, remind her to SMILE! That will keep the little darlings wondering just what she is up to!

Just a quick answer to your question MizT, yes, they are pretty sure they know the cause of the food poisoning.
Mum makes up her own muesli, but had not been eating it since her 'problems' last December. Thinking she finally felt like starting her routine again, she ate some of the muesli but of course, after such a long time, the oats had gone rancid, and in Mum's weakened state, it was enough to send her in a downward spiral.
Suffice it to say, the muesli got the toss, and she will be making up a new batch toot sweet!
She really did bounce back and was remarkably well while hubby and I were there last week, and she sounded bright as a shiny button today on the phone.

Gail, glad everything sorted with your Mum and even the problem with the muesli. So often it is hard to find where the cause of bad food.

Bean, you are around somewhere and I am off to bed. Just slept through all the TV I was going to watch so probably will have trouble getting to sleep now.
