I sent one to school and D1 rang and said'what am I supposed to do with the dress?' I told her to try it on a couple of girls and also was it the right style.
She had done that and was happy with it. I will do some more cutting out and sewing tomorrow and the go to her place (1 1/4 hours away) and cut nad sew more on Monday. Still have to buy material for the under petticoat and zippers. Material very dark so will not be doing any sewing at night.
And you are right, I am a very good procrastinator when it comes to cutting out!
(By the way D1 will be 42 in a couple of weeks but still comes to Mum for help)

June, you do not have to always have your chair, just wanted to be sure we did not leave any when we moved house. now that it is here, no problem if you sit in it everytime or not. your choice.

I washed out all the mugs as i unpacked them, and I have put on the coffee, and it is very good today.

OH, did I tell you of the buy hubby got on Konah coffee? At Aldis, he found a 13 oz bag for $4. I mentioned that to my daughter in CA and she said, MOM, that is usually about $16 a pound! We do not usually drink fully cafinated coffee, but hubby said I shall have some of THIS!

I think we will have the hottest weather so far this weekend. The LOW for the night was 75 (23C), and it is up to 77 (24C) already this morning, at 6 am, and the sun is not even shining, it is cloudy. AAAAAAGGHH, Dew point is also 71 (22C) , that makes it very muggy. I think I shall stay inside today!

I need to water plants before sun gets hot.

need to mow front yard, too, but that will wait till dusk, since hubby is still asleep and so are most of the neighbors!

JUNE, you could submit your flower avatar as a smilie, and have BOTH on your post, the chair as a avatar, the flower as a smilie you put up first! Or visa versa.

I have been doing some research on keeping the body away from sun's harmful rays. Seems I must now avoid the sun, religiously. When at the dermatologist, he did biopsy on 4 more suspicious spots. I should get results by end of the comming week. He said there is no doubt they are skin cancer, BBC, but gee, they did not any look like or act like what I had before! Too many different looking things can be skin cancer, aaaaaaagggggh. Must do the biopsy though, that is what insurance says, so I wait a week again.

So now, I need a hat, my straw hat is not good enough, and I need a long sleeve cover up when I go out. I am reading that dark colored clothing of a thick or tightly woven fabric is better than light color loosely woven. BUT this sun protection is just the opposite of the heat illness protection advice, light colored, loosly woven fabrics, straw hat that breathes to let the head cool, and loose fitting clothing. HOW can a body do BOTH?

Sun screen is not an option for me, I have never found one that does not sting my skin.

OK, I know the aussies have done some good research on this and have several campaigns to educate the people (slip, slap and slop), since you are in one of the danger zones of the world for exposure to the bad rays. So, if any of you know any good websites with good research based inflrmation on sun protective clothing, could you let me know?

I do have a hat I can wear for now, it is ugly, camaflague color, Aussie cowboy kind of hat, the kind that can snap up the brim on the sides. I have to wear it UNsnapped, of course, and the dern thing is HOT on my head, take it off and my hair is soaky wet. AAAGH, this is not fun.

JUNE I am Central time zone, NOT same as New York, but Same as Chicago. It was about 6 am here when i ws posting.

Just back inside from my airing, in the covered deck, in the shade of the trees and plants very early morning. Al and i are talking about putting up a shade cloth panel on one end of the deck to reduce the sun there longer. be good for the plants there too, as the sun can get rather intense mid morning as it gets up above the trees.

MizT we have 'Cancer Council' shops that stock clothing, wrap around sunglasses, hats etc with all the best products for protection. I will see what I can find out for you.

JUNE, thank you mush for the information. I found the Cancer Council shops online and some sunsmart information. I find it confusing, they say darker colors are more protective, but they show and sell white and pastel shirts. I imagine they are treated to make them more sun smart.

What I need is a shirt to slip on and off, button front, to wear over my inside clothes cause i cannnot stop to change clothes every time I need to run out to the dome, or get clothes in from the clothes line, or go to the mail box.

I do need to see if I can find a source of the sun rating for the day on the weather channel. I did get some good information about that.

Now, they do have some nice looking straw hats with high sun protection ratings. I guess I should just look online for things closer to home, but it has given me some ideas.

I did see online somewhere, not in your council shops, a product you can "wash into" clothing that makes it more protective, that is interesting.

MizT, one of the good things about medical treatment in Oz is that I now have the biopsies done AFTER the spot is removed. And the doctors haven't been wrong yet. They were right in the States too, but still had to do the biopsy first.

My visit was last week and I had a spot on my arm frozen - says it's an early BCC so might end up having it removed next time if the freezing didn't work. I think I've mentioned the spot under my eyebrow/above my eye. I see the plastic surgeon next Tuesday to find out what will happen with that one.

I wouldn't worry too much about damage done during the trip out to the dome. Most of the damage has already been done in our youth. Perhaps a high SPF umbrella would do the trick? It's a bummer about the sunscreen because that definitely makes life easier.

Suzy, the trip is too short a stay to warrant the expense of the airfare for me. He will be back Friday morning and we are going to Malaysia in August. I have been to Vietnam a couple of times with him and one trip to London where we were able to stay extra time for ourselves.

Suzy, I wish they would do that one biopsy after the cancer is removed here, too. But they did not ask me.

I hope your plastic surgeon is as good as my dermatologist was at stitching and cutting. this guy left me almost no scar, I was very pleased with him. He does reconstrictive surgery and bunch of other cosmetic surgery in his practice, and he is good at what he does. I was lucky to find him.

Hi all, Broni that Mudcake sounds interesting but not for breakfast.
Last time I was on SA4 I was wondering whether a new site was getting due, so when I logged in today I wasn't surprised at the change over, but was surprised at the number of posts.
