Afternoon all. Looks like I'll have to read a couple of days of easy and D&D, though I'm not sure when. It sounds like it has been 'turbulent'...

can you tell that my home computer is up? hooray! i could be on here all night, (and i kinda want to) but i must get a shower in before bed time. i gave three hair cuts tonight and i am itchin all over. also 7 come around early for me. i could sleep till noon if no one needed me. that last post took for ever to go. that was a first for me. i have had good posting luck until now. hope that was the worst of it!

hi suzy! good luck on all the reading to do. i keep telling you gals to keep it down while i'm gone, but no one listens to me! you just keep talkin' and talkin'! it makes for a very stressful return. especially if vici isn't up to giving amazing updates. i do have to go to bed in a bit so you have about 20 min to chat it up. ready, set, go!

Mine is always slow mariana - dial up! I just have more than one tab open and go and read something else while my post is going through or the page is refreshing....

I haven't had as much time in here lately... how dare life get in the way!

Must go to bed. I have a Dental appointment in 7 hours, and it's nearly an hours drive away.

Teacher's strike today - the kids didn't have to go to school until 11.30. Which is of course a waste of time as so many kids decide not to go at all that the rest of the day is wasted too. But I send mine anyway. They might get to do something fun!

My kids have never had a problem with their teeth and don't understand why anyone hates the dentist. I hope it stays that way!

Don't people put videos of birthday parties and such on the web for distant friends and relatives to see? I'm proposing that we do the same with our meet-ups. Stills are nice, but they don't talk. I'd like to hear your voices.
Someone cleverer than I can work out the details. I'm just an idea person.

Good idea Ruby, but I'm not clever enough either and we don't have a video camera any more. But I'd love to see a video of a Sudoku meet-up. It's a shame we didn't think of that for our Coolangatta one earlier in the year because there were a lot of us there.

Sharon had a major op this morning as her appendix had burst and was tangled with the bowel causing the obstruction. I have been to the hosital and seen her but she was still very groggy.
I passed on all your good wishes.
I have a giel on my lap who is trying to help and lost my last post for me. Ugg

OMG...that is dreadful June....I hope that she starts to turn the corner soon....she is very lucky if her appendix burst to only be feeling groggy [+sore].....other alternative isn't worth thinking about. Thank heavens for modern medicine.

Not the best thing to happen but at least they know what it was and have taken action.

Well Bean, Viv and Suzy - if all you cacklers and snorters ever get together it would be worth investing in a video camera and an airline ticket to catch that one.

June, I think this is good news from my own experiences. Hopefully they will have her on massive antibiotics since it did burst and they should have cleared the obstruction, so it will be just healing and getting the body back into sync. Well I am an optimist I survived! Send her my love and let her know others have been thru this and get thru.

This is how my retirement and Col's unemployemnt is going.
We agreed that Col would stay with the truck for 10 working days for training. He has trained a new driver and the new owner. The owner left for a week in the US today (booked months ago). The new driver took off for his first day alone. The fan belts snapped in the truck and he nearly blew it up. Col had to go out there (100kms) to fix it. So much for peace and quiet. We did get to have a coffee together before all h#ll broke loose.
I wish I had a good smiley for this - wake up Vici and Heidi. Gail - can you help?

In case you have not noticed I feel like I have turned a corner today and I feel sooooo much better! Yes I know all my Sudoku Mums, I still have a way to go but the body is feeling much better today.

5 more working days and the truck can blow up and we won't care! (We probably will because we have maintained and serviced it and looked after it properly for more than 2 years, as we did any previous ones we owned!)

Hey Cyn all I can say is 'THEY' own it now, not really your problem! Both Col and you have your morales and I commend you both and would expect nothing less.
But tell me how many days till you go on holidays is it??????
