Took Laura to see her mother today.Wanted to know what all the tubes were for. She was told they were getting the rest of the bugs out of Mummy's tummy.
Sharon has about a 6 inch cut as there was also an abscess on the intestine. She will be out of hospital next Monday and cannot drive for 4 weeks. Laura goes into hospital on 17 Sept. to have the ulcer situation checked and also remove the tonsils (very large) and adenoids removed. Looks like I will have two patients.

So many people have sent nice messages for Sharon which I have passed on but have not had the time to reply. Thank you all.

Hi June, sounds like Sharon is doing better. Laura will probably recover faster than her Mom. Hope the ulcers are better.

June, sounds like they did a good job on Sharon, it is just the road to recovery now. Sounds like you will have your hands full so make sure you look after yourself as well. As we keep on trying to tell Heidi if you don't look after yourself how on earth can you look after anyone else. Big hugs to you, Sharon and Laura.

Hi everybody... STILL up. Costa Rica would be PERFECT!!! The central plateau, where most people live, is 72 degrees f. year around. That's 22 degrees c. From there, it's only 1 1/2 hours to the Pacific Ocean, and 2 hours drive to the Atlantic Ocean. The weather is totally predictable. During the rainy season, the sky is clear in the morning. It starts to cloud up at noon, and it rains gently from 2 to 6 pm. Then it clears up until noon of the next day. The countryside is a veritable garden.

I'm game for a get together there!!

ok so what are all the ailment of sa5? i got june's sharon and laura sort of figured out, heidi's problem is that she is as obstinate as an ass and won't go the the dr. for ongoing feeling yuckiness, what is broni recovering from? bean has stuff to recover from too? was it viv that had a bug along with her twin vici? mizt has had a life time of tests (any results?)and wasn't rolanda under the weather as well? or maybe it was rena. wow people! how does sa5 clip along so quickly when almost all of its poster are so unlucky in health? argh! please get better ladies!

Yeah mariana... kids can get ulcers, too. I nearly bled to death at 15 from monster ulcers. It'll be necessary to figure out WHY Laura has ulcers, and June and Sharon will need to make some changes in Laura's stress levels. In my case, I had to get away from my family. Permanently.

Heidi, I read that 200 mg magnesium (less if you should get diarrhea) and 600 mg calcium each night will help sleep. Do you slow down your breathing and slowly feel weight being place on your body starting at your feet and working up to your head? I hope you're not just lying in bed making mental lists and worrying about what still needs to be done. Good luck tonight!

Suzy, instead of weighing yourself, take measurements (waist, hips, etc.) Muscle weighs more, so you're probably firming up and it won't show on the scale.
