and I'm near Chicago and we are in the Memorial day weekend - so no work tomorrow for me, I get to go pick up my son and help him move from the townhouse to a house on campus, I beleive cleaning a kitchen is also involved - anyway, he will be home for the week then back to his new digs for the upcoming year. I thank all of you for your warm welcome. I try to visit Sudokuland every day but can't always make it. I remember Canuk Greg from when his avatar was a Royal Mountie! Wow! Someone asked me what Rome I lived in - Italy for sure! I still haven't figured out how to answer everyone. Maybe I have to do it individually.

Helen, don't let people steal your joy. I'm sure your photo was great without a plant in it.

I remember once how hard I worked at capturing a photo that exemplified a certain texture. I was so proud of the result that I put it into my final portfolio. The instructor's reaction was to count it against me because it didn't have a focal point. That was the point. It was a Jackson Pollock type of thing.

Moral of the story: There are a lot of people out there who don't get what you're trying to do, so you can ignore them and share the joy with the ones who do.

I just saw your post on 'easy' and realized I've never been to visit. I have spent time in your beautiful city and loved every minute! You live in an amazing place. I live in Bowie, Maryland. It's about half way between Annapolis (capital of MD) and Washington, DC. Please stop by my page, I love having company and the door's always open

Helen, saw your viaduct/aquaduct post today and it looks as if I have never visited your page before! So, ...Hello from Michigan!
Enjoyed seeing your cat. My grey (but with stripes) cat likes to lay the same way as yours. He lays that way every evening at 10PM. We call it his "ten o'clock position!"

I know exactly what you mean. I had a cat named Simon that I will never forget. He was a rust-coloured Tabby. A real 'Teddy Bear' of a cat. Sounds as if Romeo and Simon were both wonderful additions to our lives and greatly missed.
Thank you for the invitation. Likewise, if you ever come to Michigan! I will actually be in your lovely Italy in October, but alas, will not be going to Rome.

I know what you mean Helen, I keep a fairly low profile on easy these days and usually do not make comments on 'issues' that are brought up. Not that I don't have opinions, but as I am not as articulate as some, I find my replies either bring a whole bag of nothing or a maelstrom of nasty replies. That is why I flit in, do the puzzle, leave an appropriate comment for the photo, maybe have a jape or two but then I duck my head...been bitten by the same nasty too many times!
