Thanks for the welcoming LK! By that house picture, it looks like someone has more snow than us in Toronto! BTW, nice pics on FLICKR too...what made ya decide to cut 13 1/2 inches??

wow, that's alot of hair....but if it was for donation, it was a great cause!

Thank you for the Pinot Noir. I just last year started bottling my own wine...I share batches with my cousins...So far I've had Australian Shiraz, Pinot Noir, Cabarenet Savignon, and a dessert wine...forget what it was called though...

Thanks for the comments on the Flickr site...the kids didn't want me to put their pics on there, but of course, I won that fight lol...and there's a chat room here somewhere??? (now really feeling like a rookie)

Linda, on my page you said ''one more week.'' Well, if it's still the same after one more (hope not) all you can do is go one more again and one more until you find the edge and leap off, as rosemary says. Let's all hope it happens next time.

NO NO NO dont give up
it is just one of those glitches, stay strong .... we can do this. Isnt the whole thing the fact that you felt better about yourself and to continue you can build on that feeling and then the weight will just start to come off.
Dont give up, that is so self defeating and depressing. You havent failed, it will all fall into place, remember how good you felt after 6 months when you weighed yourself and you had lost 18 pounds. I suggest you continue and dont weigh for a month and see how it is going then. Be really really committed, put all your ducks in order - watch what you eat, cut down portions, drink lots of water and exercise. change what exercise you are doing every so often. Maybe all that walking on the treadmill has created lots of muscle and that is why you havent lost the weight. we have to keep giving the body a shock so that it doesnt get too complacent. Once all those ducks are in order then the weight loss will take care of itself.
just that you are feeling better about yourself because you are doing something positive for you is a great bonus.
sending hugs to Linda for all the effort that you have put in so far. ((O)) xx
cheers
water of course.

Hey did I hear right?? its just a silly weighing scale.. what does it know about you, nothing. You are feeling better, keep it up and soon it will pay dividends. Right there with you x

The one thing you are not doing is giving up. I didn't lose anything last week and I'm off to Spain for two weeks so it will be hard. You haven't been able to walk due to the weather, and there is more fluid retention when exercise is less. As soon as the snow has gone and you put on those walking boots you'll soon see the pounds melt away

I was so sorry to find your comment and disappointment. It is so easy to say stay positive and keep trying, but just a year or so ago, I was about 20 pounds lighter than I am now, and put it all back on and more because I lost my momentum and that made me give up. So I was ''on break'' for a year or so. It didn't make me a worse person, just disappointed in myself. All these fine folks (including you) have helped me get back on the right track. I hope you can find the right frame of mind to let the group have the same effect on you. However, if it turns out this just isn't your time, so be it. It will happen when you're ready for it.

Knock, Knock, Linda you home?
Oh bugger you must be out, Ok will leave you a note:
Today is Feb 8, 2007 and I just happened to notice that a certain SM member has lost her SM. She mentioned yesterday she was going to throw a a party when she got it back. So I've used the back door, her post to me, to let myself in and have decided to get things ready for the party.
Would you mind popping over and giving me a hand, we could do with some of your wine.
Thanks Linda, cheers cya soon

Good Morning Linda or evening for you
I am so pleased you wont give up. I think the not weighing for a bit is a good idea because we do vary a lot from day to day. I weighed half a kilo less yesterday than this morning and am going to have to stop jumping on the scales each day as I completely agree it gets depressing when you think you are doing well and the scales tell you differently.
But even if things are not as good as you think they should be in a months time, please, please dont give up.
If you are doing more exercise, eating healthier and feeling better then it has to be good. Imagine when the weather gets better and you can get out in the sun and walk around your neighbourhood. Make sure you put you first for a bit, the laundry can wait and it is time the family supported you and you take time for yourself to walk or swim or whatever feels good for you. Remember to put all those ducks in order food, water and exercise. forget about the scales for a while and WE will eventually get them to read a better story for you.
cheers
water of course

Linda, rosemary is the one for sure. Best of luck. If I was your scale, I wouldn't even think about giving you bad news.

Hi Linda! Really like your new photo! a wonderful picture. As to your efforts on the reduction plan, don't worry. It will happen if it's meant to happen. If you're healthy and happy, take it slowly. You look like you are in okay health to me!

Hi Linda, and thanks for the push on my page. Brew your own wine places are big here in Ottawa, and very successful as long as the premises are clean (key factor) and the people running them are friendly. I guess the success depends on the variety of concentrates offered and the ease of accessibilty for people to find the place. Most of the places here require people to bring their own bottles, so that cuts down on space requirements and costs, but you need clean bottle washing facilities (of which I'm sure you're aware). Might be worth trying if you don't need to make a big outlay of capital to start up.

LK, Just a great big Happy Valentine's wish for you. Having met my plateau, I too felt as you did and wanted to throw in the towel, so I now know how you felt, but after reading how the others were doing, I knew I wasn't going to give up. Dealing with this snow and cold really doesn't help, so I need you to help me keep going and I'll try to help you a little more. We both will just enjoy each other's fight to see if we are going to beat our fat, or be beaten by the lack of sticking it out. I think we can do it together....what do you say???

So what are you girls going to flash? If you were men you might be charged with assault with a dead weapon, but I guess in this case it might be gross negligence for indecent exposure!

Happy Day to you too!

Linder, is that my card? Or did you find one first? I just want to know which one of us has to get a pink car. Hi Libby! Did ya bring me back some tequila?
Happy hearts day! x

Actually I should be in bed and sleeping right now, but I just went on with my work and forgot to look at the clock...
I just want to say that it was very nice talking to you today, and it really gave me loads of courage to go ahead with my life.
Thanks, and have a Happy Valentines Day!!!!

Oh, one more thing: is there room for me in your car? I am tall, but I am slim so I suppose there might be a possibility... :)
I promise to bring chocolates and sweets enough for the whole trip!

Can I join the road trip? I am in southwest Arizona. Maybe I can get Canuk Greg to join so I'm not the only guy...but then again, that might be fun.

I'd stand by the side of the road and moon you as you drove by, but then I'd miss the flash ... such a dilemma, do I moon after the flash or ... what's a guy to do? Too funny picture.

I added a link under the Paul Bunyon picture on my Flickr page to the Trees of Mystery site.
