I did NOT find your stories offensive. I can tell you a similar one. Last winter, my fish pond froze over (a frog got into the pump and plugged the intake valve, so the water stopped circulating). My 1 1/2 year old smooth Blue Merle male "Patch" decided he loved to ice skate... getting a running start, then sliding from one end of the pond to the other (20 ft.). I kept ordering him off the ice, but as soon as I would walk away, he'd do it again. One of the other dogs, a 2 year old rough Tricolor girl,"Cindy", a rescue, thought that it looked like a lot of fun, so she imitated "Patch" and went sliding across the ice. And fell through into 4 ft. deep icewater. I pulled her out and brought her into the house to dry her off. When we came back out, "Patch" decided that he was going to show her how it was done, went to sliding, and fell through himself. Dumb dog. "Patch" is a world class clown and keeps me on my toes.

GREAT STORY, Lori. I loved it! I bet that was one proud Weimaraner! I too have a turkey story, though a little gorier. One of my first rescues, "Duke", a Blue Merle rough male, had been starved during his short life. When I got him, he was 1 1/2 years old, was very tall, but weighed less than 30 lbs. The Vet said that he would have been dead in less than a week. I had to slowly build him up to a normal weight, and in a reasonable time, he weighed 85 lbs. But he always thought he was starving. Until the day that one of my turkeys flew over the fence into the yard. This was a BIG bird (he would have dressed out at 30 lbs), and "Duke" grabbed him. He wouldn't let any of the other collies near, and he promptly ate the WHOLE bird, feathers and all. He did not leave anything! He was so full, that he just laid there in the yard for 3 days, with a HUGE grin on his face, belching frequently. It was worth losing that turkey to see him SO happy.

The females are all in a 55 gal. group tank, and most of the males are in individual 1 gal. tanks, with a few in larger ones with dividers.

It's been great chatting with you, too. Believe it or not, I don't spend as much time as you think in front of the computer. I have a very bad back, so I do farm work for a short time, come in and rest (in front of the pooter), then go back out for a while, then back in. It just looks like I'm here all the time.

Lori, to answer your question about my personal smilies..
I am embarrassed to tell you I spend waaaay too much time looking for them. But I like hunting them down. I mostly just Google a subject (for example, "cartoon dog". Always use the " "!!) and then wade through the sites that come up. I'm leaving a snack for your beautiful dog (s?)
For that one I Googled "dog bones" If you need help finding something, let me know. I love the challenge!

Lori - are you still having problems with your avatar? Or got it all figured out. If you need more help on it, let me know.

Re: the Quilts. The church quilters, make quilts for those in need. Women who have left tough situations (especially with children). Some go to missions and others are sold to get materials for more quilts & donations to assist the needy. The pews were covered with the quilts one Sunday before a Quilt Sale - to bring attention to the beautiful work the quilters do. I bought 2 of them at the sale for gifts.

Hey Lori! I live in the Torrance area near the Del Amo Mall. So we may have been neighbors! Ventura is where my hubby bought our first sailboat a Schock 25 thirty years ago. We had progressed greatly from there. Finally retired from racing, my body's too broken for it (but my older son has gone further than us). But not from work, although the mind is going too. Hope to see you often!

Hi Lori, you're not that far from me! Funny, I always thought that Thousand Oaks was in LA County. Hmm Ventura is closer than I thought!
Oh yes the paintings in the background of the pic you saw were my hubby's. We were in his studio, messing about with his brushes and paint! My grandson loves to bang the brushes on anything,

Hi Lori, I am so remiss in not visiting your page sooner. I have to ask are you in Ventura or Thousand Oaks?? Many years ago [early 80's] when hubby was in the Navy we lived at Pt Mugu. I did know that area fairly well at that time. My husband grew up in Ontario, so the 4 years we lived at Mugu went there many times. We would either go through Thousand Oaks or down the coast through Malibu.
Leaving a little something for your table.

Hi Lori!
I occasionally have the same problem with "missing" smilies. I'm not sure why it happens. I try to remember to click on "Your Smilies" before I post. If they come up, fine. If not, I have the site on my "Favorites" list and I re-open it. Or you could try clicking on "Refresh". But do it after you check your smilies and before you post, because you will lose anything you've written. I'm going to put this question on the 'easy' page to see if anyone has another answer....

Hey Lori -
http://www.ivertech.com/freeOnlineImageResizer/freeOnlineImageResizer.aspx
This is a resizer I use. I use it a lot for smilies and for reducing pictures to submit to my gallery...but you have to adjust the pixel size so that there aren't dark lines on the edges of the pictures. I have submitted a few pics for puzzles, but am not very skilled at reducing them either. I've been using the photoshop on my puter...sometimes I get it right...then I can't remember the next time how I did it! Angie from Melbourne is a great help with that stuff. She usually responds if you write her a question.
Hope some of that helps - I'm afraid I'm pretty dense when it comes to this computer stuff!

Hi Stranger! Sorry about not communicating much, I've been spending a larger percentage of my online time on SA 5, instead of Easy. That's Sudokuholics Anonymous 5 in the forum section of the site, if you didn't know.

That photo of the Zony or Zorse is real. No photoshop. Amazing, isn't it?

Yes, so sad about Murphy. I felt so bad for Heidi. She was having a rough enough couple weeks as it was. I'm sure this just broke her heart. She is such a dear girl and so good to her animals. Been keeping her in my prayers and sending her lots of cyber hugs.
Have a good evening...don't stay up all night playing with your new toy!

Hey Lori
Thanks for stopping by. I love your picture of your dog. I miss ours and it has been a while since she passed away.

Anyway, math had to be put on hold this week. My grandma passed away, so helped my mom with all that entails.
I have passed the test but my score is still too low to get into the program I want to get in. So I am back to the studying and scheduled to take the the test again this week. Seems I have the world (literally) supporting me, so there is no question I have to pass this exam. I am not an exam fan of anything. Even in lesson plans I made in school, I never scheduled exams, just evaluations.

I could really get on my soap box about exams. So I think I will stop with that.
How are you doing? There are a few of us avoiding the chat room at the moment so I feel like I am missing everyone. It seemed like I had more time for the easy page when I was in school than I do now when I am staying home all day. So I feel like I am out of touch with everyone.

Hope to chat soon
