No one got the puzzle yesterday!

What number should replace the question mark in this series?

03 - 7 - 5 - 5 - 4 - 7 - 6 - 6 - 7 - ?

5

The circle and spots represent the sun and the nine planets in the solar system and the numbers represent the number of letters in each of their names!

I must admit that it proved to be a lot harder than expected. I was not able to solve it myself when I first encountered it.

I apologize to all and today's puzzle will be much easier!

Here is today's puzzle! It is much easier and there is no math skills required!

When our swashbuckling explorer, Captain Glenn, had successfully sailed around the seven seas from East to West, he saw a frightening sea monster!

Can you figure out what kind of creature it was from this cryptic clue?

As always - send solutions to me!

I'm heading out now, but I want to clear up any misconceptions about my visit to my oncologist. I had cancer six years ago and finished chemo five years ago so I am now classified as a survivor. My treatments, however, left some residual damage to my kidneys and bone marrow so I must go in every two weeks for blood tests and a shot of Procrit to boost my hemoglobin levels. I have been very stable at about 11.5 for several years, but I have to have the shots or it drops down precipitously. So no worries about me having cancer - I am still alive and keeping my promise to my wife and daughters:

I will stick around long enough to be an embarrassment to my grandchildren!

"Special word" of the day..
DISCONFECT (dis kon fect) v.
To sterilize the piece of confection (lolly/candy) you dropped on the floor by blowing on it, assuming this will somehow 'remove' all the germs.

from a lefty who is in her right mind! Although after Glenn's riddle yesterday, I had my doubts! I feel such vindication knowing NO ONE got the answer! That one was right up there with my "capitals of the states" fiasco.
Glenn, we want you to stick around and be an embarrassment in Sudokuland, too!
Now I'll give some thought to your newest offering.....

According to Wikipedia there have been many bodies of water refered to as "the Seven Seas" throughout history. I wonder if the puzzle is determined by which group of seas you are considering?
