Theree are so many things that are causing our young people's deaths. I have a friend, grandaughter, bright, responsible, straight A student, driving alone to school ran one wheel off the road, and hit a tree, died on the scene, she was 16 and her second week of driving. she was talking on cell phone.

That happened at my kids' school. The boy was a senior and bright and just spoke to the school about repsponible decision making since the prom was the next day. After school he went to pick up his paycheck and hit a bump on the road, lost control of the car and hit a tree. He knew of the bump and they think he was just so excited about everything that he took it too fast.

I think that girls death was caused by lack of experience driving, she had never had a wheel drop off the pavement before. and also distraction from the cell phone and only one hand on th e wheel, you know?? But i agree with Gail too, we cannot legislate common sense. Kids need to be taught.

I try to convince my son that he is not an experienced driver with less than a year driving, but boys tend to think they can do anything. We just had 5 rotaries put in by us and they are dangerous because people don't pay attention to the signs and don't know how to use it. I'm just waiting for him to get hit by one of them.

No, I don't have the problems on Easy, but then again I don't usually chat and make several posts on Easy. The odds have got to be in your favor there. Have a nice lunch!

Gail and/or Rola...Just checked the honey chicken receep and need you to clarify the following please....bake 30 minutes 190 or 170 fan forced'. I understand the time, and that it shoud be uncovered...but does 190 represent oven degrees? also the 170? What is meant by fan forced?

MAMA, I am answering for Rola or Gail. yes, 190 is temp, but in C, not F. 190*C = 375*F
Conversion of temps can be done at this site.
http://www.webmath.com/cgi-bin/tconvert.cgi?param0=190&p aram1=%B0+C¶m2=%B0+F&back=tconvert.html
The fan forced I think, but do not quote me, is convection oven temp.

Mama, will also leave a note on your page but a fan forced oven has a fan in it to assist the hot air to circulate. I think it is possibly called fan-assisted? The temp setting in an oven with a fan is always lower than a conventional oven therefore 170 degrees Celcius for a fan assisted oven is about 350 degrees F, no fan 190C=375F

Stella, just having a quick read through and you made a perfect point about the numbers on the road. We do not have anywhere near the same numbers of kids on the road as in America so of course it isn't as big an issue here as it would be stateside. We do not have the same situation with the number of universities either.
At the moment, the big safety advertising here is 'don't be distracted while driving', mobile phones being the main target but also things like changing the radio or temp controls etc are just as bad, especially to an inexperienced driver. Cell phone use while driving is a big illegal no-no here, just ask D#1!
ps Not more ranting, just finishing!

Good Evening - Could an oven with a fan in it be called a convection oven?

In Aus, I think a convection oven is one that incorporates normal cooking with microwave cooking???
When I say a fan-forced oven I mean like a conventional oven with a fan in it.
Does that make any sense?

HI Gail - I had a hard time getting back also. Yes, that does make sense. We have ovens that are microwave/convection. I know, in the past, ovens in regular stoves have been offered that were convection. I haven't been 'stove Shopping' in a long time. I don't know if they are still offered. It sounds like an oven with a fan in it would bake nice.

Good morning everyone - I am also not really here, just checking in.
Just wanted to say that I enjoyed our conversations last night, Stella & Gail. I have also enjoyed reading the follow up chat on the topic of drinking age, & I can see what you northeners are saying.

A rotary is a small driving circle. Instead of a traffic signal, you drive in a circle and exit where you want to go. There are two lanes, an inside lane and an outside lane. People get confused which lane to go in and also enter when someone else is already there. Don't know if that helped?
