Welcome everyone to our new SA page.  We had 9037 posts on the last one, WOOHOO.  Hopefully this one will not have the problems that we were all noticing with the last.

UPDATE: After 10,000 comments on this thread, it is slowing down too!

Time to begin a new thread, And here is the link.

Cheers,

Hi, topper! Sorry I missed you! I had a little trouble finding SA at first until I realized what Gath had done with Clips! If you're off to bed, sleep well.

Hi all! (I was lost there for a while!) It's been a whirlwind here getting ready. I just have a moment because my mom just left for the hotel with my sister. My bil, niece with her 3 kids, another niece and nephew are staying here tonight and then we'll leave tomorrow at noon. I'll go with my mom to settle her in and Jerry has to wait for D#1 to get out of work, so he won't get there until 9pm. I'm utterly beat.
Gail and Rola, thanks for the message. I don't know if I'll have any internet access in the mountains. If I don't get a chance to catch anyone, I hope you all have a great week! Take care.

Brenda, I've looked at Stevenage on Google Earth. Very neat. Are the homes inside the square formed by the traffic circles the oldest?

Brenda, how's Callie doing? I didn't realize she was an English Cocker until I saw her picture. I think their coats are much lower maintenance that that of the American Cocker. Am Cockers are much worse than the Sheltie you had.

Hi Ruby, No the oldest houses in Stevenage are in the old town, where some of them are 16th century. The town was a stagecoach stop on the great north road from London to York

I must confess, I can get lost on Google Earth. Actually, I get lost on real earth, too. There's a local joke that the only thing I can find is a golf course.

Brenda, I have the impression that Stevenage was one of the towns built after WWII for the returning soldiers.

Callie's breeder is very wise. 49 - 63 days old is best.

Stevenage on the whole was built about 61 years as a new town to house people who lost homes during the war. It was the first of the 'New Towns' to be built. The area has and is expanding daily and is quite large now. The house I love in was built in 1978
