no no, please don't make me eat! Lovely to catch up with the girls today, we gathered at Judy's, made it easy and grabbed some fish and chips plus a wonderful casserole that Judy had made. Topped off with a coffee and bikkies and a lot of fun chat ♥

Morning all. Sorry I didn't get back last night. We got last minute tickets to the Marlins baseball game. Got home from work with enough time to change and have the kids change when it was time to leave. Got home late. Read the posts but don't remember most of what I missed.

Coffee is ready, help yourself.

going down straight after drop-off in the morning Brenda, so 10.30-11ish tomorrow morning, just over 12 hours. I asked hubby who was going to drive it out of the lot. He gathered by the terrified way I asked that HE will be driving it first! We did both test drive it, me first that time, after the salesman had driven it out of the lot :)))

TMI, all the medication has blocked things up. If there is a movement by tomorrow she will be coming home for the weekend. She was off for an Xray of the problem when we left tonight.
Ken has gone to the airport to pick up Son and family.

OH NO, did not mean to break the site last night!

Poor Hollie, glad she is in no pain.

June, hope your friend gets things moving, pain meds can really slow down the process. Here there is a mild laxative/stool softener called Miralax, and it is given daily for chemo patients or patients on a lot of pain meds. It really works, but needs to be started fore things come to a halt or else can take 3 or 4 days. It is an OTC medication, and generic forms are available.

Gail, congrats on pick up of the car, enjoy your lunch out. Hope your appetite for food has returned by then.

Slept better last night, after a middle of the night pain pill. I am so tired of pills and of hurting. Six days till appointment, and keeping fingers crossed he can do something to help.

Heidi, how is the ear doing? Can you tell if less drainage? Hope the antibiotics are helping.

I need to make breakfast, and cocoa, and might as well get the days formula done while in the kitchen.

Hugs to each of you, with extras today for June and her friend, hope she can get home for weekend. Extras also for Heidi and Hollie, it is hard to loose a pet, and having 16 others does not make it any easier.

To my surprise, Hollie has woken up. She cannot stand or sit up, nor even drink yet. I'm now suspecting a major stroke. She's had several small strokes in the past.

Poor Hollie. If only people would realize that older dogs and cats are just as lovable and need love just as much as young ones, and they are so worth the effort.

Oldest grandie was absolutely horrible this morning when I got them ready for school. She refused, absolutely refused to do anything - get dressed, brush her teeth, brush her hair, put on sun screen, and on and on. I finally lost my temper with her and we ended up shouting at each other. Her next appointment with the psychologist is June 15 and it's a 3 hour one - the parents are not invited. What is she going to be like as a teenager? It scares me sometimes.

My daughter started back to work today, Brenda - her day is now half over.

I just don't know what to do with the grandie when she refuses to do something. I threatened to take her DS away and she went and hid it - I didn't have time to look for it. I will be talking to her parents tonight as I don't think her behaviour this morning should go unpunished. She has already been grounded from watching TV for 3 days because of major attitude problems with her mother. When you take something away as punishment she just says, or I should say screams, "I don't care."

Good Morning my friends.
Gail enjoy your new car and have fun, you deserve it.
Still bl@@dy cold up here, coldest June day yesterday.
Theresa, hope grandie behaves this afternoon or will D be home by then?
Heidi, know Hollie will not suffer with you looking after her.
MizT, hope you are feeling better.
June, hope all goes well this weekend.
Forgot to tell you all I am working today and for another week or two.
Love and hugs to you all.

Broni, I only had the girls this morning -- thank goodness.

The storm last night more or less missed us, but hit Ottawa and Gatineau big time - trees knocked over, power out, an apartment building was hit by lightning which caused a fire which caused the roof to blow off and land on a neighbour's house. There are still thousands of people without hydro in the eastern part of our province and some won't have power restored until the weekend. I feel sorry for those people because it is so humid out.

Theresa, hope things get better with your grandie. I know it isn't easy but she should outgrow the tantrums, eventually.
Heidi, thoughts going out to you and Hollie. I hope she is still pain free.
June, share what you need to. It is better than keeping things inside.
Don't remember much else. I will be back later or tomorrow.

Morning all,
Breathing a sigh of relief, it was awful not being able to drop in on you yesterday! I have an empty house now so will be able to concentrate to read and see what everyone has been up to...

Theresa, good for you standing in the rain! I do it too! It didn't rain much at all when we lived in SoCal and when it did I encouraged my kids to go out in it and splash in the puddles. Of course I brought them back in to a warm bath and dry clothes afterwards, but if my SIL caught us she would be frantic until they were dry. They would get sick if they got wet in the rain!!! I've just checked the time in your neck of the woods and your D should be home from work now. I bet she is exhausted. A healthy person would be tired going back to work after so long! I hope it was a good day for her though.

Heidi, Gil is a bit rude complaining about you investing money in a property when he is spending money renting an apartment! Dead money! I know it's useful for his work and for getting him out of your hair, but it's a bit hypocritical of him... I finally got to see Robert's pic this morning - hilarious! Started my day with a good laugh! We only think we're the boss of horses!! So sorry to hear about Hollie. It's hard to see a friend that way.

Rolanda, when you've reduced your mountain range to a small hill, do you mind coming over here to help with mine? I don't know where to start!

June, I hope friend gets to come home for the weekend

Brenda, laughing at the poor sense of direction the guy who is buying your car has!! Glad you shared that with us.

Gail, the lunch sounds wonderful! One day I will be there for one of those - I promise myself!! I understand not wanting to drive a car off the lot Gail, they pack those things in there!!

Tami, I bet the game was great. I won't watch sport on TV unless I'm being a supportive wife, but I love a live game!

MizT, I hope the doc can help and if he can't come in here and vent. I read a very frightening statistic about the emotional toll of chronic pain so think venting is important and necessary. As are the hugs you get to help you feel better!!

Theresa, there definitely should be consequences for her actions. I hope her parents are able to talk to the counsellor about appropriate reactions to this type of behaviour, and to tell them about it before she goes in. The word that came to mind when I read your post is probably not really applicable considering the circumstances, but my brain screamed BRAT. With Alie it works to find something she really does care about. For a while it was time with boof. Now I think it is Forever Archie. At least for now, with a possible record deal out there... yes, that's my news for the day. They've been asked to send more music.. The words 'people from Warner' were in there somewhere...

Ah good, Suzy's back!
June - hope all goes well and 'friend' gets to come home for the weekend.
Poor Hollie - still holding on - I believe they won't let go because they know their humans will miss them.
Theresa - I hope the psychologist can sort out and help your grandie. It is unusual for a young girl to behave like that. I had wondered if it might have been because her mother was sick but now she's obviously getting better but the behaviour isn't, there's something else there.
Gail - enjoy the new car!
Broni - have fun working. But we'll miss you, it's been nice to have you around more lately.

I'm very impatient and I'd have probably told Theresa's grandie that she could catch the bus to school in her pjs if she wasn't ready.
I actually drove off and left James at home one morning. He was being a real little $hit and I'd had enough - he was still in primary school and probably about 10-11. I drove around the block and came back and got him. He said he would have walked to school- it was about 3kms from home.

Hollie was one of the girls that was rescued from the puppy mill that we shut down. She spent her first 11 to 12 years there, mass producing puppies and having no affection, training or interaction. When she arrived here, she had no idea how to deal with people, except be afraid of them. She now knows that she is dearly loved, and loves me back. Until a couple of days ago, she was sleeping on the bed next to me, sharing my pillow. She never learned to trust people in general, tho' she fell in love with Grass-hopper at first sight.
