Back from my trip to the water company. I have everything set up in my name now. They won't be turning the water on until tomorrow. They'll call first so I can have the plumber here to watch for leaks. I set up the water bill for automatic payments as well. There will be no late fees, and no threats to turn the water off.

For anyone who likes really crazy videos, go to YouTube and look for "Baaa Cyriak" It is a crazy sheep video. Do not let little kids watch, it might give them nightmares. It is not gory or scary, but a little creepy. Suzy, you should like it. There is a lot of geometry in it.

Heidi, I meant diapering her during T storms only, I did not make that clear, I guess.

With the humidity today it feels like 33C ... I'm wilting and don't seem to have any energy. We are also under a severe thunderstorm watch. Always what I like to hear when I am home alone!!!

I've had a quick look at the car - love it!

And Baa Cyriak is twisted, but very creative.

Now I have to leave you all with love, plus hugs and thoughts for our 3 SA friends and their friends who seem to need them the most at the moment.

Not only am I teaching today, but it's Alie's birthday.. 15 today. Can you believe it?

Brenda, I like your new car!

Good luck, Suzy.

Storm is apparently fast approaching. There's the possibility of large hail. There is supposed to be a cooler front following the storm. Thank goodness because I am just like a limp wet rag today.

We have had a cool rainy day today. I sat out on the porch during one thunder storm, not a lot of thunder in that one, but a bit of wind, and the first of the cool down, nice.

I can tell you when the cold front associated with this came through, twas when I laid down for a nap. Longer I laid there, the more I hurt, till I had to get up, napless. Al rubbed my lower ribs with Voltaran Gel for me, and some relief.I do prefer topical pain relievers, feel better without the sedated feeling.

Theresa, no one at home at daughters house to ride out the storm with you? Is she working full time now? Hope the storm was over quickly and you now enjoy cooler temps.

SUZY, nope cannot believe Allie is now 15, time does fly/

Later friends, and hugs all around.

MizT, daughter was with a friend. She is only allowed to work 2 days a week. She told me something today that she has known for a while, but she didn't want to talk about it. If the cracking in her hip doesn't go away, she may need the same operation over again. The surgeon is hoping the inserted piece will wear down a bit from natural wear and tear, but ....... I didn't really want to hear that.

The storm is finally starting - better sign off. The hydro went off for a few seconds, just long enough to mess up the digital clocks.

Good morning all
Happy 15th Birthday to Alie - how did she get to be 15 so soon? Hehe - I'll bet you're asking that yourself, Suzy.
Off to look at some of those YouTubes/videos - back later.

Gekko All,
Hope the weather has eased for you Heidi, or more to the point, for Hollie.
Some dogs are always affected by storms and others pay them no mind...sorry that Hollie is so spoofed that she loses control...no fun for sure!
MzT, I taught defensive driving for a long time and enjoyed it a lot..sorry I was no longer able to transport the materials needed and all of the other logistics that had to be dealt with became a pain...but the people bit was so much fun and I learned as much as I taught.
My teaching experiences from K through 12th grade, my government teaching experiences and the driving years were all great...and Suzy, many times I learned on the job...especially when subbing..never knew what position I'd be assigned, but had a bag of tricks that kept the youngsters busy and usually interested. It always came in handy. Word puzzles, picking out words to start stories with each child adding a part were faves. These saved me when ever I was called to cover math or art classes that I couldn't handle well. It also helped me maintain class control. I even held contest...doing board work..much fun! As Tami always says...remember you are smarter than the kids. Have fun,but be sure to establish that you are in control, and it'll pay off in the end.
Treat yourselves well everyone...especially if no one else thinks to do so. Peace!

Interesting afternoon. I went to load Robert's motorcycle on the 16 ft trailer to take it to the mechanic, only to find that the trailer had a very flat tire that won't re-inflate. So we loaded the motorcycle into the horse trailer and took it to the mechanic (45 minutes each way). Then I saw the mechanic's motorcycle, and fell in love. It's the prettiest machine I've ever seen! It's a new design called a Honda Fury. I feel a STRONG urge to get one. I'm drooling, still.

The first part of the storm has passed - boy was it close. So glad hubby did not have to work tonight. I managed to get his supper made between power outages. There are more dark clouds approaching, so I don't think Mother Nature is done with us yet. Luckily no hail so far.

Happy Birthday Alie!

Heidi, get some more birds instead, they're safer.

Good Evening, Everyone!

I have been spending some time reading pages (and pages) that I've missed.

June, I'm so glad the trip to the snow went well and your friend was essentially comfortable. The making of memories is so important! You are both in my thoughts and prayers every day! I hope the bowls tournament provided some diversion and companionship, even if the weather was miserable.

Nola, I am so sorry to hear of your sister's PET scan results. You are both in my thoughts and prayers! How awful that she must deal with it again.

MizT, I hope the biopsy yielded good results, as Al's PET scan seemed to be essentially good news! Sending positive thoughts and prayers for both of you each day!

Heidi, thinking of you and your ministrations to Hollie. I hesitate to mention her, since I have another 6 or 7 pages to read, but hope all is well!

Theresa, I hope it was a beautiful day for the wedding and hope you weren't exhausted from all your preparations for it.

Rena, I hope your Mom's results will be good! It's great that your computer is back in your possession and working!

Broni, will miss you as you get to work on your boat again.

Suzy, hoping the situation at home has improved. With luck, Alie will have a number of other occasions when she can wear the dress!

Rolanda, I hope your Mum's check-up went well! Sounds like you and Peter will be doing a LOT about the house as you become empty nesters! Be glad you were able to have S#2 at home through college. (Was difficult for us when D#2 went to college in California - a 4-hour airplane trip - at age 18, so I can imagine what you're dealing with.)

Lots more comments were planned, but forgotten. I am going to submit before turning the page, as I don't want to lose what I have written.

Afternoon all,
Another quick drop in. Home for a little bit in between work and the musical. We're going to watch it tonight! I'm looking forward to it. Year 7 laughed all the way through it today and if they laughed it must be good..

I hope the water turned on without a hitch Heidi, And don't buy that bike!! We'll be hearing about more broken bones soon..

People with storms around I hope they are gone but the cool change has come - feels weird saying that when I'm freezing and thinking about putting on the heater!

Brenda, it went pretty well because she had the kids watching Babe for 2 of the periods, they were supposed to think about domestication while they were watching it. One of my favourite movies and the kids were mostly quiet. The seniors had to define some words and do summary notes. One spent her time writing a story and the 2 I thought weren't going to do anything, did the most! It was a brilliant day because although I had some really feral kids, but for 4 out of the 5 periods I taught, I had a support person with me. Having 2 people in the room makes a huge difference, especially when the kids are feral (which is the reason they have a support person in the first place).
