Pleased to hear you are getting some rain Tami, Susan has been telling us how bad it is over there.
At least you have the mornings to do something outside.
Tami the link I posted on here was our actual car, but will put photo's up once we pick it up.
Pleased your day went well Suzy.
Theresa, fingers crossed that your daughter doesn't have to have more surgery.

Live life looking forward, nothing in the past cannot be changed, but we must learn from our mistakes and hope not to repeat them.

I really must learn to count and to proof read before posting that was meant to read 'nothing in the past can be changed'

Brenda, I have been living in a state of fog since my daughter told me the surgery might have to be redone in the very near future. I'm not sure if I'm ready to do this all over again so soon. As Gail would say, it is what it is.

Yesterday's storm was a doozy. We did not get it as bad as Ottawa did, which is less than an hour's drive from us. The headline this morning says: Lightning strikes damage four homes, leave 11 homeless. At least no one was injured.

Theresa - did I read correctly? Redoing the surgery in the near future? How near? OMG - poor you, poor D - I thought great progress was being made towards recovery.

I had Leah (Glenn's daughter) and her boyfriend here for dinner tonight. Leg of lamb, broccoli, dish of mixed roast vegetables,and lemon delicious pudding. Enjoyed by all and enough left over for Ken and me tomorrow night. It is hard to realise Leah has been here for 5 months.
I am tired so off to bed (even though the tennis is interesting)
Suzy, Hope you get plenty more teaching next term.
Just nodded off at the keyboard and brought something up called 'sticky keys'. could not continue until I was able to get rid of it.
Have to take friend for some chemo tomorrow and then to do some shopping.

Theresa, glad your house wasn't one of them!

I'm usually asleep for a couple of hours by now, but work combined with the musical have left me a little hyper.

I saw the very end of the musical last night and was not impressed by the people doing the sound - the microphones were set too low and you could barely hear people - missed half of the jokes!

Tonight the first half was the same. At intermission I was talking to one of the mothers whose daughter had a major role (and did brilliantly by the way) and said - you know, they have microphones, all they have to do is turn them up! In the second half it was amazing - all of a sudden the microphones were turned up! I shrunk down in my seat feeling kind of guilty for possibly being overheard criticising people who had worked very hard to put on an amazing show... said that to hubby when we got home and he said, 'who cares? we heard the second half!'

Cyn, it's only a maybe so far, unless her hip doesn't stop clicking. So all thoughts, wishes and crosses (shared with Al) that it stops clicking now!!

Alie's birthday was a bit of a non-event. We woke her up early to get ready for school, got a quick hug each, came home, stuffed our faces, took her back to school, went off for coffee until the show started, brought her home, and woke her up when she fell asleep on the lounge.. not even a cake. Had one, didn't cut it!

Tami, any of the hyper sudoku friends can share my de caf coffee, I have a pot ready.

Suzy, glad the day was good for you. It is always best when the teacher has something oplanned I think.

Heidi, I would worry about you if you bought that bike! Did you sleep better last night?

End of page 133, and I have to run. Appointment today with doc, results of MRO and hopefully something done about the pain levels that keep going up. I will check back in later today I hope.

Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Great night's sleep for a change, despite Patch not wanting to share the majority of the bed or covers.
This morning, I drove to the post office hub in the next county to pick up a dozen month old Guineas They'll be penned up for probably a couple more months until they can fend for themselves. Predators got my previous guineas. I love guineas for many reasons, but their practicality is in that their favorite food is ticks. If you have guineas, you DON'T have tick problems.

I had some serious entertainment last night. I happened to mention to IH that I'd seen the most beautiful motorcycle I've ever seen. He started screaming at me hysterically! I said nothing about buying one. I've never even ridden on one. He immediately jumped to the conclusion that I'd already spent a fortune on a brand new motorcycle!!! It was fun watching him get all red in the face and hyperventilate.

Heidi, I agree with Brenda. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall. Next week you should tell him about something else you saw, just for his reaction.
Brenda, I know the car in the picture was your car, but it will be nicer to see your photos of it

Hi All,
Heidi glad you were able to get some sleep...that's a good thing...watching hubby jump through hoops because he THOUGHT you had spent money on the cycle had to be funny. When I first read your post about the cycle, I thought ..'go girl', but then I remembered how accident prone you are and said 'oh no'...lol, after seeing that you had never even ridden one, I realized it was just a neat but passing idea that struck your fancy at the time.
Suzy, glad your teaching day went well, and that you and hubby were able to hear the second part of the show. Improvements come about because, those affected tell those doing, what is in needed in way of improvement! I'm sure your comment, overheard or not, resulted in more enjoyment for all.

June, how nice that you were able to have Leah and her boyfriend over for dinner..you are a wonder lady!
Miz T, I have not only read all of the Earth Children's book (Cave Bear Series)...I own them and reread them. Currently I have the latest and supposedly last one,(THE LAND of PAINTED CAVES) on my book stand, but refuse to start it until the
This is one of the best series that I've ever read, and hard to put down...such research and detail..oh, I just love the way this author writes...the only thing I didn't like is the time between the books, but the reason for the delay is also the reason they are so very, very rich in detail...really special!!!!

Just got back from the Bunk House. We had the water turned on, and quickly shut it off again. There's a broken pipe under the house. So the plumber is off getting the materials he needs to redo it right. I want to make sure that we get everything well insulated for winter freezes, while we're at it. Never a dull moment.

Even tho' I've never ridden on a motorcycle, I AM wanting to learn. This one I've fallen for is a slender, elegant, light weight chopper that already has a reputation for stability. They're about to come out with a metallic blue that's gorgeous. So far they only come in burgundy (the one I saw), silver and orange.

Rainy day here, but it has cooled down considerably - yeah!

Yes Cyn, you did read right. My daughter has a cracking in the hip, which causes sudden severe pain and tends to cause her leg to buckle. At first the doctor thought he could go in with a scope and file down whatever is rubbing together, but he doesn't think this will work. It looks like he wants to redo the surgery. She will know more when she sees him next (not sure when).

June {{HUGS}}

MizT, fingers crossed for the results. {{HUGS}}

Mama, you don't need to be crazy to go through life, but it helps.

Suzy, this is the chemo that 'worked' last year. Just trying to slow the progress and reduce some of the pressures. It does not make her sick but does make her tired.

Heidi, I like that Gil was worried about you spending money rather than being injured! You might want to have your first riding experience on something a tad less powerful than a chopper though. I'd start on a small 125CC, you'll be tired of that within a few months depending on how much you ride, and how many limbs you've broken, then move through 250CC before you go to the big ones, again depending on how many limbs are broken. I started on an 80, went to 120, then 250. That got old after a while, but I was a student and didn't have the money for a bigger one then.

June, I guess tired is okay, at least she can still be around, while sick would have her confined to bed (or bathroom) most of the time.. {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

Tami, I believe you would make that phone call too!!!

Oops, my manners! Morning all! And now I'm off to take Alie to school, she is exhausted and so is running late. She gets home so hyper from the show she can't sleep immediately so has a very late night, and then has to get up early in the morning to go to school...

Yesterday she said when she walked in the hall the band started playing happy birthday and everyone sang it to her!!! How many people are lucky enough to have that happen?!

Suzy, I most certainly would make that phone call, if Heidi asked. I never have a problem helping a friend. What a great present for Alie. I don't remember if I told you to wish her a happy birthday for me. Mitchell will be 15 in December. Time goes so quickly, doesn't it.

Hi everybody, hope you're all well.
MizT, I've read all the Clan of the Cave Bear books except he last, which I'm saving for a rainy day. I let my daughter read the first one and she enjoyed it (aged 13 or 14?), but I decided the second was WAY too explicit, so told her NO. Of course she sneaked it away to read in secret, but was pretty horrified and only got halfway ... Mum DOES know best! Maybe we were weird parents ... I thought reading Lord of the Rings when she was too young might put her off it, because it was so long, so on her 12th(?) birthday, along with the usual presents, we gave her a card with "Permission to read ..." and she's always loved those books.
Ok, I've just watched the sheep, also the cows - amazing, but very strange. A bit Monty Python, a bit ... creepy!
Suzy, school musicals can have unexpected consequences ... my son never recovered from them, that's why he's in Qld right now!
June, Hugs to your friend, hope she isn't in pain, and will soon be over the sick feelings. ♥
Heidi, glad you made your hubby anxious - nice that he's so concerned for your welfare ... ;)
