In truth a family is what you make it. It is made strong, not by number of heads counted at the dinner table, but by the rituals you help family members create, by the memories you share, by the commitment of time, caring, and love you show to one another, and by the hopes for the future you have as individuals and as a unit.

Tricia, please send Joy my deepest sympathies. Family is not always by birth, but by choice.

That was to the Timmy comment. I like your words of wisdom, too.

Heidi, of all the people I know, you will be able to teach Timmy to trust people. You have the best animal sense I have ever seen. I hope you will post a picture of Timmy after he has put on some weight.

When I arrived at the shelter, and met Timmy, I petted him and told him that he was a sweet boy. He happily wagged his tail at me. The staff was surprised. He'd been there a week and had never wagged his tail or shown any sign of friendliness. Just acted scared. They commented that I had a way with animals.

Timmy will only be here a week at the most. There'll be no opportunity for "after" pictures. There is a possibility that I will be getting 2 other collies. They're not that old.. only 7... but they need to be kept together, and that's hard to do for most adoptions. Their owner went into a nursing home and isn't supposed to come out again.

Heidi, you must have a heart bigger than the universe. I don't know how to say this, so I am just going to. You deserve the best, but got IH. I hope he someday realizes what he has, although I don't think he will.

Hello, Fellow Sudokuaholics! Just popping in for a few minutes. We have had a long day and will have an early morning tomorrow (7:15 a.m. departure). There is an all-day demonstration by a woodturner from Switzerland. (He was at the annual 3-day symposium/seminar last weekend, so extended his stay.)

Thinking of all of you with positive thoughts, prayers, {{{{{HUGS}}}}} and for everyone who can use them. I hope to be back tomorrow. Good Night!

Hubby and I toasted them all tonight, Lynda, Ruby, Sully, JD, P, and my Mum whose birthday it was yesterday, She would have been 85 this year, and as all my sibs said, if she was still with us we would have all been with her celebrating ♥

Morning all.

Take care of yourself, Broni.

I was just talking to a lady walking her 2 dogs - she is going to be dropping off cat food now and then for the feral cats I'm feeding. Someone else also drops off food in my daughter's porch from time to time for the feral colony. There are some really nice people out there.

It's going to be a hot and humid day today, so I have decided to get back to cleaning out boxes. I am in the mood to toss, toss, toss. My daughter and her MIL want to have a yard sale here at some point this summer, so I think I'll join them. If I make enough money, I will take hubby out for supper.

Off to have a coffee outside before the sun hits the lawn swing. Catch you all later. Thinking of all of you, whether you want me to or not.

Theresa, yard sales can be fun, but can also be a pain. Hope yours is successful.
Heidi, yeah that the bunk house is almost done. Glad it is getting finished.

MizT, loving thoughts for Joy.
The older one gets, the more friends and family that are absent friends that are always in our thoughts. Just remember all the good times Ouma,
Interesting time in Clown Town this morning (Laura had a birthday invitation)
my friend was here tonight and I cooked her favourite, corned beef and vegies. Unfortunately was not feeling as well as she has been.
I was watching TV and then the tennis but slept through most of it. Must to bed as Laura is here in will wake up early.

Drove to the plumbing supply store (half an hour each way) only to find it closed for the 3 day holiday weekend. We can't complete the job until Tuesday.
Then, on the drive home, I started feeling nauseous. I've spent the rest of the day alternating between sleeping and worshipping the porcelain god.

Have to drag myself out of this comfy house with it's AC, out into that 93℉ / 33.9℃ heat, with high humidity, to move the hay wagons stacked with hay into the barn. We won't be able to unload it until Tuesday, but it's supposed to rain tomorrow.

It's been a lovely day today, about 24C. We picked up the new car and the weather was perfect to have the roof down. I'll try and put a couple of photos up tomorrow.

I've just got back from the hospital. Had to take my son as he isn't feeling well and hasn't for a couple of weeks. Doctor thought it might have been glandular fever, but has decided that it is probably just a viral infection, he has to rest.

Viral infection is MUCH better than glandular fever. I know.

Did my good deed for the day. I was hauling hay wagons from the field across the street to store them in the new hay barn until Tuesday. While hooking up the first wagon, some new neighbors approached me wanting to buy a bunch of bales. I need all I have, and apologetically told them, but I went home and brought them the phone number of someone who does have square bales for sale.

Brenda, best of luck with the new car. Can't wait to see photos. Hope your son is feeling better soon. Please keep us posted.
Heidi, that was nice of you to give them a number. That will really help them if you can't sell them any.

A daily good deed doesn't have to be a big one. Just something nice that you don't HAVE to do.

Morning all,
Vicki, sorry to hear about hubby's rotator cuff, but glad he has the time off work, though that will probably make more work for you.. I wish I was a glow worm too.

June, I hope the Xmas in July went well. Alie has pulled a huge pile of clothes from her room and today I hope to start going through them. The ones in good condition I will wash (I use a 15 minute refresh cycle) and send to Family Services, the rest I will put in a rag bag or the bin.

Rolanda, Dana might as well have moved to Melbourne.. I moved to Sydney first but came home a lot of weekends, then I moved to LA, so I did to my mother what s2 has done to you. If it helps, I became closer to my mother after I left than I ever had been when I was close.

Theresa, I sooo know what you mean about mixed blessings. How nice of the lady to offer food for the cats! It must cost a fortune to feed them... Do you only feed dried food or canned food too?

MizT, hope the scan went well. Hugs and thoughts to Joy. ♥
