I forgot to look to see if it was time for a TOPP. I don't feel inspirational. I laid down late morning 'cause I was feeling nauseous, and didn't wake up until 6:45 (pm). Tummy still feels upset. And I didn't get the hay moved.

Oops, how rude - Good Morning all!!

I would love to be spending today curled up with a good book, but instead have to do the ffuts I didn't do during the week. When my body and brain adjust to krowing again I will do more during the week so I can have a lazy day on the weekends.

Thought I saw some blue stuff outside this morning, but it's gone already! Drats!!

Hello to Everyone!

I must first apologize. Last night I had a long comment in regards to pages 158 and 159. Just as I was about to press "Submit Comment," we lost our power. It was out for more than 18 hours, and we have had LOTS to do, so I am just getting to the computer. I just don't have the time to go back and try to reproduce it, but I have been thinking of all of you and sending positive vibes and {{{{{HUGS}}}}}!

I will try to get back to the computer later. In the meantime, be well!

My internet is down again grrrr, and I've just got the news, working for the next two weeks, with no lesson plans and the same feral kids....i am looking forward to the pay checks though.

I hope june and cyn are having better news types of days, not because I don't want to hear bad news but because I wish there wasn't anything bad happening

Great quote for a TOPP on page 160, June! Thinking positive thoughts for your friend and all of your family! {{{HUGS}}}

Cyn, positive thoughts for your Mum and hoping for peace for her and you! {{{HUGS}}}

Happy Anniversary, Theresa and Mr. Theresa! So sorry I'm late!

Heidi, your new chicks sound like fun! Too bad your tractor isn't!

Gail, thinking of the families of those young men!

Happy Anniversary to Theresa's D and SIL! I hope they enjoyed their movie and dinner!

Very sad day in Norway today. Does it seem there are more "crazies" in the world these days?

Mamacita, thank you (as always) for your words of wisdom!

Tami, I hope Dylan feels better tomorrow! Enjoy your reading!

It's now 1:30 a.m. and I must get some sleep! D and fiance are coming tomorrow. Somehow we need to make up for the 18 hours without power in the few hours before they arrive. We'll get done what we can. Always more ffuts waiting to be done.

Positive thoughts, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, prayers and for everyone, whether named in my comment or not. You are in my thoughts! Take care and be well!

Hi all - busy day today, sorry it's taken a while to get back here.
Mum was slightly improved today in that she was more alert and knew both my sister and brother when they visited. She's still frail and weak but time will tell. I didn't go today but Karin and I will go up there and help feed her lunch tomorrow. Karin's been so worried about getting to see her but has had a Japanese exchange student since Friday. Poor little fellow (9yo) has been a handful as he was so homesick yesterday. Today they took him to the Gold Coast and he got his first ever swim in the surf - he was delighted and has cheered up immensely. Tomorrow he goes to school with the kids and gets taken to Lone Pine sanctuary to see the koalas and kangaroos.

They have removed the drain from my friend but she cannot breathe without the oxygen. Tomorrow they will move her from the 'medical dependency' ward to the oncology ward. Belinda spent four hours with her today. We had Laura but we handed her back to her father when we were at the hospital tonight. We will visit again tomorrow after our lunch. I am a bit emotionally drained tonight but have just spent several hours asleep in the chair.

Morning all. Thoughts and hugs to all.

Last evening we took the grandies to a park in a nearby town and let them run loose. We were there for at least 2 hours and they were exhausted when we got home. I bet they slept like logs last night.

Today we go to a BBQ at my sister's place in Ottawa. They have a cousin and her hubby from Holland staying with them for a few weeks. The high for today is supposed to be 26C, so it should be a very nice day.

Hubby is not working this weekend and he is liking the time off. He is thinking about retiring from his regular job and only keeping the part-time job. The part-time job is very physical and he is losing weight and getting lots of exercise, so it is keeping him in shape. His regular job at the museum is getting more and more stressful. I would like him to retire from that job, but I haven't said anything to him because it has to be his decision. He used to enjoy his regular job, but it is getting so "political".

Off to have a coffee outside and then get a few groceries. Hope to catch you all later.

Morning friends, a relatively cool and cloudy morning for us today. I have been out to my flowers, will do a flower update below. I did not even get sweaty our this morning, it is still in the 70's and that is cool for July.

Yesterday I discovered we had no hot water! Leak obviously was in hot water line and got worse, emptying the tank. Al came and turned off hot water to the house. Handyman is scheduled to come "sometime this morning" after working on his auto. I do hope his auto repair goes well. I have a dishwasher full of dirty dishes to run, and a shower would be nice.

Flower Update: I have one container of purple verbena
http://www.clemson.edu/extension/hgic/plants/landscape/flowers/hgic1175.html

that has been a riot of blooms. Today many dead or dying blooms, along with many buds, so not as showy. It got a good deadheading today.

The two containers of petunias are leggy again, and not as many blooms, but they have been spectacular.
http://landscaping.about.com/od/colorfulflowers/ig/pink-flowers/pink_petunia_big.htm

I need to get back to cutting them back to encourage blooms.

My 4 containers of impatiens are doing well, that is 3 of the 4, one of them looks a little tired. Perhaps it is time for a little mid year fertilizer?

The Christmas cacti are growing, I see new leaves at all the tips, and they are branching nicely with many double and triple leaves to a tip. That is good, more tips, more blooms when they bloom this winter

The Spider plant I started from cuttings this year, the old one was no longer attractive in the center, has put out shoots and some little bitty babies are started, yeah!

I must remember to check out front daily now, I did not plant any flowers out there, but have some volunteers. there is one nice sized Cleome in bloom. Came from seed from last year. this one is a nice salmon color. I have a small purple petunia out there from seed also. One container is full of what I think are young vinca seedlings. they have a distinctive dark, shiny green leave and that is what I am seeing. I have some moss rose volunteers both our back and out front, and it has been years since I bought any, Enough volunteers come up each year to leep leaving seeds. I have a tiny pink petunia in with my cactus, I leave it , it does not drink much water and adds nice color, keeping two blooms constantly as it gets longer and longer.

The big container of coleus are showy and dark purple, love them.

the Vinca have bloomed profusely, and they are what I notice each time I pass through the kitchen. My vinca is more a watermelon pink,
http://www.florifacts.umn.edu/2007%20Annual%20Trials/Vinca%20Nirvana%20Rose%2009060064.JPG

The red salvia are blooming nicely too. These 3 are on the sunny south side of the deck and what I see from inside.

I am so glad I did get some flowers this spring, also so glad I cut down on number of containers this year. Just enough I can water them all

I am so glad I did get some flowers this spring, also so glad I cut down on number of containers this year. Just enough I can water them all before getting tired, but enough to give me a nice showing along the south sunny side of deck and on the more shaded bakers rack.

OK, lets see if this will post with all the links, but first, to copy hehe.

A very disturbing bit of information surfaces from Norway. It seems campers tried calling emergency services as early as 10 minutes after the gunman arrived, and were told to stay off the line unless they were calling about the bomb in Oslow. A tragedy within a tragedy.

MizT.... There was probably no right way to handle the dual disasters. The emergency services people thought they were doing the right thing. No sane person could imagine the reality of what was happening.

Yesterday, as Gil was leaving for Roger's funeral, I handed him a signed, limited edition print of a ewe and lambs (by a well known artist) and told him to take it to the visitation and funeral. Roger had been one of the top sheep experts in England and the U.S. , and I felt that there should be sheep there to say good bye to him. Roger's widow loved it, and a lot of people told him that it was the perfect touch. When Gil got home and told me about the reaction, there were tears in his eyes. That was my good deed yesterday.

Heidi, a very good deed for yesterday! Just the perfect thing for a sheep expert.

Yes Heidi, I agree, there was no good way to handle the dual disasters. The police thought they were doing best, but this piece of news just disturbed me more than other sad news from Norway.

It is one hour into the afternoon and no handyman. waiting, waiting. I am so glad at least we have water in the house. Perhaps I have not been appreciative enough of hot running water. It is not something I use often, I wash clothes in cold water, I wash my hands in cold (takes too long to get hot to K sink) I use hot for showers and for dishwasher is about all.

I have hung out my bed pillows in the sunshine to fluff up and air out. They will smell so nice tonight. Feather and down pillows do need a good sunning about twice a year. Needs to be a good dry, low humidity day.

I can tell I am feeling better, less achie, cause I am bored with computer and games and reading. I want to DO something. Oh lots of gninaelc to be done, but I want something interesting and fun hehehe. Well, boring can be good, I shall not complain. Perhaps I should kooc something.

Just came in from outside. I have been mowing grass! A neighbor lady came and cut it last week, with a puch mower no less, came and worked 3 different days. I do not want her doing that again. Al got the battery charged for me, and I was able to mow the back yard, the harder part cause it is larger, and that grass grows taller, faster. So if Audry thinks she has to come back to mow, she can mow the front, hehehe. I do find the steering a bit difficult, hands just do not want to make it turn, but it got better when I set mower to faster speed. I have to start off slo, and build up my courage, get accustomed to mowing again fore I can put it into a higher gear. Silly Tricia.

Morning all,
Hugs June .

Theresa, I love the idea of your husband being able to retire! I hope he chooses to and that it works for you financially. The physical job sounds like it is doing him a lot of good.

MizT, I love the idea of volunteer flowers! You have a lovely neighbour..

Heidi, wonderful good deed...

Well 2 weeks work with no lesson plans done.. busy time ahead of me. It seems like the teacher I am subbing for never does practical lessons. Actually I don't see many practical lessons happening at all! Since the curriculum requires 50% of time to be spent on pracs, I think they rely on the computers as they technically count.
