I'm starting to notice a pattern with me. Whenever things go wrong, I have to buy something to cheer myself up. The plumbing problems have gotten to me. So, instead of buying a motorcycle or autogyro, I just bought another horse. Whimsey is a yearling Gypsy Vanner filly. I'll see if I can post a picture of her.

Heidi, Whimsey is adorable.

Judy, I was reading the books at school and my one female student mentioned her older sister read them. I told her they were really good but she should wait a few years before reading them. I didn't think her mom would appreciate it.

Rolanda, good luck with the pictures and the open house.

Cold, wet and miserable day here, but it is to be expected for the season. Sure beats a 12 year drought!
Nothing much happening here either. Hubby and I are going to have a shed and carports put in, he desperately wants a manshed, and I desperately want him to have it! We would love to have garages for the cars, but not sure if we can stretch it to that, we are getting sick and tired of coming out and seeing cat prints all over the bonnet of the new car...grrrr.
To have all these things erected, we will need a lot of earthworks done, plus we would like to have the whole driveway bitumanised, and a concrete floor for the shed. All of this will need council permits and lots of $$$ (time to sel one of the children on eBay methinks!)

Is there a good market for used children on eBay, Gail? If there is, Suzy may have a whole class to sell.

Good afternoon everybody...
Have dropped back in to apologise for being so rude yesterday... and not greeting you all...

I was feeling a bit stunned.. but that is really no excuse for my lack of manners.

I have, as you all know, been MIA for so long now knowing that I would never be able to catch up that I had just concentrated on reading all of Junes posts. I have been off the air [in more ways than one] since my brother died and when my phone stopped working I didn't bother to get it fixed.. was enjoying the respite from people ringing when I really wasn't ready to crawl out from under my rock... Big problem is that I also missed so calls that would have been very welcome.. namely Junes friend.

Love and big hugs to all that need them, good luck etcetera...

Hello, Everyone! Just popping in for a few minutes.

June, I'm glad your friend seemed to be feeling better when you went back. I think MizT's idea to have an early birthday party makes sense. A second smaller one can be held as time and conditions permit. You are dealing with so much, and we are keeping you and your family and friend in our thoughts and prayers!

Broni, I'm glad to hear that everything is progressing well with the boat!

Cyn, hoping your visit with your Mum will be a good one. They say it's such a good idea to let a loved one know that it is OK to go. I hope it's not prolonged.

Suzy, thinking of you and all of the ferals! It's nice that you got an extended sub position, but it would be nicer if the students would show some signs of humanizing before your assignment ends!

Just thought I'd let you know that our friend Paul's wife said he was exhausted from all of his visitors the past few days. His breathing tube has been removed, and he is breathing on his own. The hospital was able to provide a small appliance which has letters and generic questions to point to and records the ones you select to make sentences. (Much easier than yellow legal pads.) Therapy continues with people in for breathing, movement, speech, etc. Thanks again for your continued positive thoughts & prayers for them!

Heidi and MizT, I'm so sorry to hear about the continued plumbing difficulties! I hope a "simple" patch will solve the problem quickly for both of you!

Tami, thank goodness for the rapid car repairs. I hope Dylan is soon feeling 100%!

I apologize for not finishing reading and comments, but exhaustion has set in and we must rise early tomorrow. I have thought of all of you many times during the day, and now I'm likely to dream of you.

Prayers, positive thoughts, and {{{{{H U G S}}}}} for each of you, your families and friends!

Well, I have no idea how I got a duplicate within the post. At least you will know I'm thinking of all of you.

Hi, Bean! I'm sorry the last few days have not been good for posts/synopses from me. I will try to find time to do better, though things are getting VERY busy around here!

Rolanda hope there was a glimmer of sunshine when the photos were taken of the outside of your house, a little sunlight makes everything look so much better (not that your house doesn't look wonderful all the time)
Broni, hope you can have some lovely excursions on your boat now you have done all the hard work to prepare her.
Heidi it must be costing you a fortune buying things after something has gone wrong... you seemed to have had lots of things go wrong lately.
MizT, definitely didn't mean me to crawl under her house. Hope the repair doesn't take too long.
Bean lovely to see you back.
I've forgotten everything else I was going to comment on. ((HUGS)) to everyone.
I'm waiting for someone to come and give me an estimate for plastic fascias and new guttering, he should be here soon.

Still on that roller coaster. When we (my sister was with me) went today they had just brought her back from Xray and it had really taxed her reserves and she was on mask oxygen and struggling. They then gave her morphine, then lunch. With the morphine there was no way she was awake enough to eat. Before we left she had improved and was sitting back in the chair.
Ken just home so we will go back to see her.

Vicki, I hope your OS visitors are enjoying the culture shock - the best part of travelling if you ask me!

My internet has decided to stop working, even though it says it is there at its usual speed..

MizT, sorry to hear about your water. I hope he can come soon! I can’t imagine being without a shower! I’ll strengthen my vibes, see if it helps.. I don’t think I’d fit under a house anymore, I’ve gained back all the weight I lost after my stroke…

I’m reading this on my phone and hit the ‘report this comment as abusive’ button again when trying to scroll. I cancelled it so I don’t think any posts will disappear. If they do I aplogise profusely!

Heidi, when you go for retail therapy, your really GO for retail therapy!! Well, if it’s in the budget I say ‘Go for it’!

Rolanda, good luck with your open house. I got a shock when I got home and we started looking at houses. Open houses in LA went all weekend! Trying to fit houses in with such a short window here was annoying!

Gail, good luck with eBay - hope you make enough to get garages too!

Snort Heidi! It’s been a long time since I’ve snorted. Three whole classes! Or should I say bits of each of them. One girl who gave me a hard time today, and called me that S word that would get me kicked off here, was at the sport I helped supervise his afternoon. She and another girl did the wrong thing and had their land turned off!! I was so happy for her!!!

Julie, semi good news about Paul. A long way to go, but at least he’s here to travel the journey..

Daily anecdote: I was having trouble with a girl in my class today and had to send her out of the room. For sport I was helping to supervise ten pin bowling. The same girl was there. I wasn't worried about having trouble with her, I was one of 4 teachers and there is also the owner of the rink to consider. She did the wrong thing and he just turned off her lane! Instead of going up to him and apologising for doing the wrong thing she just called out 'can you turn our lane back on?' Of course he didn't. Karma? I think so!

Visit to Mum today was a bit sad - although she was awake, she was just mumbling to herself and showed no recognition (a bit hard to take). Very agitated and upset. At one stage she asked me 'What's happening to me?' What do you say? I just told her it was part of getting old.

Morning friends, I have my cup of coffee, first cup is always wonderful!

Broni, good to see so many posts from you, and I hope I do not have to wait till you can get here to crawl under my house hehehe.

Theresa did not break the site, the criteria for a "break" is two hours. she just bent it a bit hehehe.

Cyn, so sorry your visit with your mum was not better. It is hard enough for an elder to accept they are dying, but with dementia it is just so hard for them to grasp. You gave her a good answer.

SUZY, I do admire you for choosing to teach under the circumstances in schools today. When I was in school, when my children were in school, there might be one or two in a class who would act out occasionally. The rest of us were afraid too! Parents supported the school and the teachers. Happy you figured out internet problem, but must you blame it on the cat?? hehehe.

Rolanda, I thought there was a typo when I saw hours of open house Sunday. Suzy's post made me reconsider. Really? Less than an hour? Open house is at least all afternoon on Sundays here, and sometimes all weekend. I hope there is a line waiting to view your house, and you get an offer first day!

Gail, glad you are getting needed rain, but I understand the cold and wet thing. I hate cold rainy days myself. Sounds like some major improvements slated for your home, I hope they go well.

Heidi, I left a message on your photo page, but will say again, very nice animal you have there. I hope you have great success breeding her.

I must go and boil water again. I have a dishwasher full of dishes that were only partially washed. Now there is dried soap on them, needs really hot water to get them clean. I got part of them done last night, plus all of yesterday's dishes. Need to tackle them again. At least I have cold water.

Hugs to each of you, with extras.

June, so sorry your friend was so exhausted from her trip to X ray. I am glad that she "perked up" a bit fore you left.

When Al was in hospital so sick, and they needed chest X ray, they brought portable one to his room. boy that was much better than any test he had to go and wait.

Hugs to your friend, to you and yours. thinking of you constantly, haunting the SA site for news from you, sending prayers and best wishes that today is a comfortable day for her.
