The plumber is back, cutting a hole in the floor under the shower stall to patch the fiberglass liner from underneath. He's found a guy who patches fiberglass boats, etc, who can fix that liner as good as new.

(Sorry.... no words of inspiration from me)

Heidi, so happy for you that the plumber found someone who can patch fiberglass. MUCH easier on you to do it this way. faster also.

Al Pnoned our handyman. I hope he will be back late afternoon fore he has to go to his factory job. Did I say he had to take that job cause of the economy? Not enough building/repair work to keep him busy, and too many others with a "day job" hunting "side jobs" to meet rising expenses.

Hi all. Finally home after a long day of running errands. Dylan had a doctors appointment. He has a skin condition called Vitiligo. It causes patches of the skin to lose color. It is what Michael Jackson claimed to have. He will be using an ointment to try to bring back the color to his few white spots and we can only hope he does not get more of them.

Tami, I thought I read that Michael Jackson's autopsy confirmed he had the condition. If the cream doesn't work, I hope Dylan can learn to like himself just the way he is!

I don't remember that. So far he only has a few patches: wrist, shin, finger and toe. I hope it does not get worse. He is a good kid and I think he will adjust.

The plumbing repairs went smoothly today. Finally. Everything is fixed.
I also stopped at the tractor dealership to pay for the last repairs on my tractor, only to find out that all the repairs were covered by warranty and I had NOTHING to pay.
IH has been gone all day.
I wish I had more days like this.

Hubby sent me this funny, thought I would share.

Getting away from their high-stress jobs, a
couple spends relaxing weekends in their motor
home. When they found their peace and quiet
disturbed by well-meaning, but unwelcome, visits
from other campers, they devised a plan to assure
themselves some privacy.

Now, when they set up camp, they placed this sign
on the door of their Recreational Vehicle:

"Insurance agent. Ask about our term-life package."

Hello folks, I am pleased to read some better news today, glad June's friend perked up before June had to leave and hope she becomes more comfortable as the day moves forward, good too that Heidi and MiZT are soon to have their plumbing fixed and that one of Suzy's demon kids had to pay a price for her misguided behavior.and that Dylan was feeling better, and has been diagnosis and treated early on for the vitiligo skin condition...hope the ointment helps. Finally, I was so happy to see Broni and Bean grace the pages once again. I appreciate the break in our clouds here at S.A and do hope we are able to keep finding joy where it may try to hide from us...It doesn't stand a chance of staying hidden from this group. Julie..hope you get some rest...don't worry about the summarization of the post until you are less busy..We enjoy them , but not at the expense of your health....
June, hope your fall and the roller coaster that you have been on allows you to find more time to rest your body soon. I know that your spirit and mind won't rest until something changes, but do hope a bit more rest will help you to deal with all of the drama.
To all of my other sister/friends...may life's joys be greater than your challenges too...Peace.

I HAVE HOT WATER! and yes, I am shouting, from joy. It did not take him long to find and repair the problem. Defective piece of pipe, it had a split. It is so nice to have hot water again. Even almost enjoying gnihsaw dishes hehehe.

Hi all - just a quick update on Mum - she is showing a marked improvement today which is good and hopefully (for us) takes away the imminence of losing her. So please reserve your thoughts and prayers all for June and family, whose need is far greater than mine. This may be temporary for Mum, Lord knows she has no quality of life, but for me, it gives me more time to accept the inevitable which I freely admit I hadn't even started to accept until the crisis came late last week. Since then, I have been gathering my thoughts and memories and accepting the fact that she is fading away. Thank you for all your support these past few days. I love you all!
The strange thing is that after I left yesterday, they were moving her into her bed with a sling device. She was so agitated and uncooperative that she threw her arms in the air and slipped right out onto the floor (not blaming the lovely staff, we know how difficult she can be). Soft landing, she has plenty of padding since she doesn't get exercise and will only eat dessert, but maybe it had some sort of positive effect on her. Odd, but who knows??

Good Evening, Fellow Sudokuaholics!

I hope the plumbing repairs are proceeding in a timely fashion for both MizT and Heidi! MizT, you can count me out for crawling under your house; I can guarantee I wouldn't fit.

June, thinking of you and your roller coaster ride. Must be so difficult for your friend, as well as for you and all of her family. You have no way to anticipate whether she will be comfortable or exhausted when you arrive for a visit. {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, and positive thoughts for all involved! Thinking of you all!

Rolanda, I hope the photos look terrific and the Open House produces lots of interested people!

Suzy, I'd say the girl received her "just desserts" when the lane was turned off; it's good that the owner enforces appropriate behavior! I'm glad you realized that Dimmie was the cause of your internet worries - at least for now.

Broni, are your aches from working on the boat subsiding yet?

Cyn, what a shame that your Mum was confused and agitated when you visited! I think you answered her well!

MizT, I hope the boiling water helped completely clean the dishes!

Gail, I hope the weather has improved! Great news on the coming upgrades! A man=shed and carports sound like great additions! Good luck selling on E-Bay!

Theresa, Tami and Heidi, I hope you have all had a good day!

On to page 164!

Heidi, great news that your plumber has found someone who can do the fiberglass patch!

Tami, I've heard about vitiligo before. There was an author who wrote about having it and taking medication to return the skin to its regular color. Although it has been nearly 50 years since I read it, I think the title might have been "Black Like Me." Does Dylan still have a fever?

Heidi, what fantastic news to find out that the tractor repairs were covered by warranty! Also so nice to hear that IH doesn't plan to be around for the day!

MizT, please thank Al for sharing the joke! Very enjoyable and too true!

It's always nice to see posts from those who aren't able to visit here frequently: Bean, Broni, Nola and Suzanne! Take care, Girls!

If I hurry, I'll be finished here before midnight. Sending {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, positive thoughts and prayers for all of you and those you know who could use them!

It's sunny in Melbourne, and very mild - even pulled up a few weeds!
Thoughts and hugs to those who need them, especially June and CynB.

Daily anecdote: I can't tell you most of it because the stuff the kids say would get me booted out by the hall monitor. Today I had kids tell me that their friends, had tourettes, were autistic, had ADHD, and various other ills. I was told by the farm manager that the guy I am subbing for lets the kids run wild. No wonder I'm having so much trouble with them!!

Suzy it sounds like the guy you are subbing for should maybe think about a change in career.
I was missing in action most of yesterday... as Heidi puts it 'worshipping the porcelain god'. I had a bit of a fever..felt hot to touch but to me I was cold, slept most of the day too. Still tired now.

Thanks. I've had about 22 hours sleep and still feel tired, the other symptoms have passed but I haven't had anything solid to eat yet.
Waiting for someone to give us a quote for replacement fascias and guttering, he should be here soon, so will wait until he has gone before trying something to eat.

Morning all.

Cyn, we're never really ready to let go. When the nursing home asked me to sign the do-not-resuscitate order, it took me months before I could bring myself to sign it. My mom had vascular dementia, which presented the same signs as Alzheimer's, and I knew the papers had to be signed. A friend of mine had a talk with me and asked me if I wasn't signing the papers because it was the best thing for mom, or because I wasn't ready to let her go yet. I signed the papers not long after. Gosh I miss her.

Theresa - my Mum has an Advanced Health Directive with her Enduring Power of Attorney in which she has specified a DNR order, so that decision is out of my hands anyway. My dad had the same but when he was dying in hospital, my sister and brother were telling them not to resuscitate but I was the EPOA and was not there. I got there 20 mins after he died, that day being one of the few times I ever went out and forgot my mobile phone, and got the message too late. I go back for the phone these days - never again!!! Eventually, the Doctor in charge ordered them not to resuscitate. Dad's was an awful prolonged death just because of red tape!! Why try to resuscitate a man of 91 with extremely advanced dementia who was having a massive heart attack?? It defies all logic!
