Hello all, I have to admit I'm finding this day very difficult - the cravings are very strong. My daughter bought me gum and sugar-free candy. I am not on the patch yet - I have to check with the cardiologist first tomorrow. My friends and family have been very supportive. I CAN DO THIS!!!!!

Home alone, hubby has gone into work for his monthly meeting and all the girls are at work or school.
Disappointed to say our local council looks like it is going ahead with the demolition of the Round Kindergarten building that has such a history for such a young building, despite what the community wants. Another example of council riding roughshod over the little people :(

I don't want to brag or make anyone jealous or anything, but I can still fit into the earrings I wore in high school.

Tami, I'm not certain I can still the wear the same size shoes as I did in high school. I think my feet are getting longer - either that or I need more room for the bunion I'm growing. I can forsee foot surgery in my future.

My grandmother never recognised us but enjoyed our visits just the same. She always thanked Dad for bringing Mum to see her (shame it was his mother). She was a sweet old dear. She passed away between being asked if she wanted a cup of tea and them returning with it.

We are having MIL troubles at our house. She is gearing herself up for a fight with her daughter who is due to arrive in the next few days.
Kevin won't even talk to his mother at the moment. He is sick of being accused of doing everything/nothing so he just doesn't pick up the phone.
Gosh, old age is a bugger!

Theresa..... YOU CAN DO IT!!! Once you get past day three, it gets easier. If you keep yourself busy, you won't think of the craving as much. I have one suggestion.... drink your liquids through a straw. When you have a craving for a smoke, take a drink instead.

The back feels great right now. No pain. But I'm still going to take it easy and follow doctor's orders.

Heidi, so happy for you that the back is feeling great now. I hope that continues for 4 months.

Teresa, I cannot wear the earrings I wore in High school! Those were the old clip back ones, and they pinched my ears even then, but at that age, anything for fashion. Now? Pierced earrings and nothing that can poke. Anything for comfort.

Morning all. It is almost 11 am and I am still in my pajamas. It is nice to be able to enjoy my vacation. Coffee is ready if anyone wants a cup. I need to get dressed soon and gets some ffuts done around the house. Dylan has volunteered to use the sucky thing. He actually enjoys using it and says that will be his new chore. I don't mind. I don't use it often, hubby is the one that uses it the most

Heidi, hope the back continues to feel good but I am glad you are still taking it easy.

Today and tomorrow will be the hardest, Theresa. Just take it one day at a time. You CAN do it! You made a superhuman effort taking care of your daughter, and did an incredible job. This should be a little easier.

I think I'll go back to bed for a few. I get to use the back as an excuse to sleep as much as I want.

I had 2 naps yesterday and went to bed early. I didn't have any coffee yesterday because coffee and ciggies just go together for me. I didn't go outside at all except to feed the feral cats. So far today is a repeat except that for today I am very weepy. My family and friends, including cyber ones, are terrific. Last night my daughter brought me oranges, apples, hard sugar-free butterscotch candies and gum. What a sweetie.

Gotta go jump in the shower before my appointment. Catch you all later.

Theresa, just keep repeating "I can do this, I can do this, I can do this!!!" It won't be easy, but you have all of us here rooting for you.

Theresa, you made day one, and a good start on day two. Way to go! Hope the cardiologist approves the patch for you. I bought the patch for me when I stopped smoing.l Considered it terribly expensive (as much as cigarettes, but I did not buy cigarettes a month at a time! ) I put the unopened box in my kitchen, and kept telling myself, if it gets any worse, I can use the patch. After a month, I returned the patches to pharmacy, and with the $$$ I bought myself a pretty new blouse hehehe.

Sorry I broke the site yesterday, that was a big break. when I do it, I do it right hehehe.

Must finish getting ready, I have an appointment today to be checked for spots.

Still haven't used the sucky thing. Ended up going to the movies. Cars 2 was playing for $1. Took my two boys and a neighbor and his 12 yr old son. 4 boys and me, no problem.

Gail, I don't get many days that I get to be lazy. I decided to take advantage while I could.

While I was with my niece and nephew, a tornado touched down about a mile or so from my house. I was clueless where I was, about 20 minutes away. There was some minor damage but have not heard of any injuries.

Wow, Tami!!! That was a close call!

My neighbor was home and he said he heard nothing. It might have been a little further than I think. They said 4 roofs were damaged but no injuries.

Good morning. Busy days getting everthing organised for Friday. Have to pick Laura up after school and take her to physi class, then have Sharon's ex for dinner and then to airport to get Neil and family. 9pm.

I am on a waiting list for an angiogram and angioplasty (on the same day) - probably September or October. I WANT A CIGARETTE!!! Spent about 3 hours at the hospital today for cadiologist's appointment, ECG, chest x-ray, blood work. Have I mentioned that I WANT A CIGARETTE???? Feeling very down and weepy - doc says patch is OK - I have it on and hope it helps.

NO SPOTS!! I do not have to go back for a year. First time since I had the first one that he did not see something, I am thrilled. I told them I graduated, doc said they would have a graduation party tomorrow hehehe.

Theresa, a very trying day for you, what with the anxiety of the doctor and the long wait. You did it without ciggies, and that is wonderful! Be proud of your acconplishment.
