Great news, MizT!! No spots!

You can do it, Theresa. If the craving gets too strong, substitute. Try a straw in your favorite drink, and sip instead of puff.

Good night friends. I shall try getting to bed early, but not sure I will sleep. Told the doc today my worse scar was itching terribly once again, and he shot it with cortisone. For me, even that bit that gets into circulation makes me jittery and wide awake. Oh well, I slept in really late this morning, I have the computer plus a good book, I can entertain myself if I am awake.

Hugs to each of you, with extras where wanted. Till tomorrow.

Afternoon all,
I can't tell you how my day was because the hall monitor will throw me off if I do.

Theresa, I know the feeling! You can do it girl! The patch will help. If you smoke most early in the morning, make sure you get the one you wear 24 hours, and enjoy the dreams! I reckon I could have made a mint if I could have remembered them for long enough to write them down!

Afternoon all from me too,
Theresa - I join with the others in sending my encouragement. I do know the feeling of wanting a cig but, think of your health, and keep putting it off. Heidi's idea of drinking through a straw (even just sucking on one) sounds like a good one.

June - thanks for dropping in. You sound busy but, I suspect, being busy will stop you dwelling on things that can't be changed. You're all in my thoughts as Friday, the next big hurdle, approaches. Hugs for Laura too!

I didn't get to comment here yesterday - far too exhausted from helping my friends pack up. I did read though, but the thought process wouldn't work to comment.
Rolanda - I'm withdrawing my offer to help, even with airfare paid. I'm just getting too old! It seems to me every time anyone moves, good old Col and Cyn help. I've lost count of the number of moves we've helped with, not counting the 3 we've made since we've been together. Bahhhh!

Was lucky enough to catch Mum's doctor while I was there today. Her kidney function has decreased dramatically, which is what we thought and a sign that she is shutting down. He is trying to adjust her medication but could not promise anything. I got a spark of recognition today and she was awake enough for me to get some lunch and a cup of thickened liquid into her. She is not a happy bunny when awake though. And what she communicates to me seems to be asking 'What is happening to me?' Poor old darling.

Hi, Friends!

Wow! Looks like I haven't read since page 168. Our lives are amazingly busy right now. I think of all of you, but just don't have the time to get here and let you know. I hope sanity returns soon - maybe a day or two after D's wedding.

For now, I will say,"So long and Good Night." Positive thoughts, prayers, and {{{{{HUGS}}}}} for all of you!

Can't sleep, so I thought I'd pop in here.

MizT, no spots that need removal -- way to go!!!

Thinking of you and your family, June.

Julie, what can I say, hope you get to relax soon. Take care of yourself.

Thank you all for your support. Yesterday afternoon/evening was bad for me. I must remember to buy some straws.

Gail, you won't be able to hear the things that are said, but you could look at her paintings... They talk about a dunny and that the lady's undies aren't showing. Well the visitors to the auto repair shop had a vote and she now has undies!!

Love it Suzy!!! Even if your Mum wasn't named, I would have been able to pick her. What a wonderful community for her. I'd love to drop in there, do some paintings, have a coffee. Love her murals, especially the dunnies!

Suzy, I have no idea what or who you are talking about as far as the link you gave is concerned. I didn't see a "Carol". I'm sorry, I'm just not with it the last few days - what am I missing? What's a dunny?

Off to bed now - massive headache.

Suzy, the link worked for me, and I did enjoy seeing your Mum and her paintings. I liked that mural at the school, and got a chuckle at the sign "open most weekdays" The auto shop was a lot busier, so I did not enjoy it as much as a whole, but the individual pieces in it were really good. Your Mom seemed to be really enjoying herself. Thanks for sharing.

I did sleep some last night, but keep waking. In the early morning I thought of getting a sleepy time herbal tea, and slept for the longest time of the night after that. Not as jittery this morning perhaps it is wearing off now.

Teresa, hang in there girl, this is day three. Hopefully the physical addiction will be gone after today, once your body has rid itself of the nicotine in your body. the psychological dependence is what lasts so long, the habit of it. I learned to substitute something for the habit, do something else when you once had a routine ciggy. I rearranged my living room so I did not sit where I always sat to watch TV and smoke. Instead of an after dinner ciggy, I had an apple, and cut small slices with a knife, to have something to do with the hands, then took tiny nibbles, hand and mouth both occupied for a while. I am sure you can find things that suit you for a substitute.

Hugs to each of you, with extras. I will be back later, a bit of ffuts to do now and the cat wants out.

Theresa..... a dunny is an outhouse.
I hope that headache gets better soon. I think it's all about your body detoxifying and your metabolism changing. Today will be the worst day. I promise. It will start getting a tiny bit easier each day from now on.

Yes, when I hit play on Suzy's video it went to a different one, Yukatawra or something. Okay, I am not the most computer literate person.

Morning all,
Theresa, good luck with today! You are amazing!! Thanks to Heidi for explaining the dunny. Mum told me that the old pumps looked ugly so she built little sheds around them to look like outdoor dunnies..

Rolanda, hope you get good news about your house sale soon. In Sydney I think you would have had to have already found your house to rent or you may not get one - that you would want to live in anyway..

MizT, glad you eventually got some sleep. Hope tonight is even better. I agree about the repair shop being too busy. Maybe it looks better in person. I wish they'd shown the bus stop as I heard all about that one as it was happening.

Tami, a great day for you! Lunch and a good deal on pants!!

Heidi, I hope you are taking it easy. It's a long time until your next shot so I'm hoping no animals get stuck in a dam or anything like that so that your shot has a chance of making it the extra time. I think the women in the gallery would love it if you could drop in to buy a painting too. Their sales are mostly during the Yabby Races - a big do once a year that brings in thousands of people, and the horse races, also once a year. They have had their work displayed in other galleries in bigger towns too. Mum priced a very large painting at over $1000 at one of those and it sold! She only charges those kinds of prices for her oils. The emus are generally done in acrylics and are a lot cheaper.

Cyn, huge hugs, I am thinking about you! Now tell me how you knew which one was her??? Yep, people have called me Carol.

June, you're right about that country town. Everyone gets involved in everything that happens and it is very inclusive. Apparently some of the farmers' wives can be a bit snooty, but nobody can be snooty around mum for long. I am thinking about you constantly.

Daily anecdote: Yesterday a student decided that I reminded her of Nigel Thornberry. That sent the class into peals of laughter. One student, said, No she doesn't. Nigel Thornberry has ginger hair doesn't he, well Miss doesn't (I kinda do) and he has a really huge nose and Miss doesn't(I kinda have that too). I can't work out if she was defending me of letting everyone know why I do look like Nigel Thornberry!
