Good morning all
Viv - congrats on the Avon award. Loved your outfit and bag for the banquet.
Rolanda - congrats on getting a contract on the house, now for the wait for finance approval.
Judy - hope you all can find a place quickly for your Mum. Stressful time!
Heidi - glad you got a September appointment!
June - glad Ken's home today.
MizT - I hope the engineering team can fix the Washington Monument safely. It's so sad to see an iconic building destroyed (like the Christchurch Cathedral earlier this year).

Oh - someone pushed me to the top!

No language can express the power and beauty and heroism of a mother's love.

I'm not a fan of the Washington Monument. It looks like a phallic symbol, which is ironic for a man who had no offspring. I'd like to see them come up with a more appropriate memorial to the man.

Good evening friends. I made a trip to town, more milk for fornula, bananas to put in it, and cat food. Cannot be out of cat food, you know.

It is so dry, I forget how long since last rain, but my grass is feeling crunchy under foot. Hope we get a bit of rain soon.

About the caffeine, I drink de caf coffee, de caf tea, and caffeine free colas, so I am used to doing without caffeine. But the doc's office says there is a bit of caffeine in the de caf stuff, so it is forbiden. I do not expect the shakes, has been no problem today my last coffee was before noon. I have had lemonade and milk to drink today, and water. I am not a big fan of water, have to flavor it with something. Bottled water is OK, our tap water lately has too much chlorine. I have to remember to fill a pitcher of water and let it set over night for the chlorine gas to dissipate.

Eyes getting heavy, need to make that long trek to bed. till tomorrow, sending hugs to each of you, with extras.

Hello again!
Hope all the people in pain get some relief soon. ♥
Thank you for your kind thoughts about my Mum. Yes it's going to be a busy time, but on the plus side - we've done it all before! There is a place quite close that we looked at before, but Dad wouldn't even consider it because it was the "wrong" religion! Mum wouldn't care, so hopefully it will be easier ... ? Plus, I believe they make allowances for people who need places quickly ... have to check it all out properly, of course. (This place is just a few minutes away from us, so very handy, and beautiful gardens too.)
Nice day in Melbourne this morning, sunshine! - but clouds now, and getting grey. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. :)
Time has whizzed by while I was distracted ... seem to have missed lunch! Better see what I can find - catch you all later. :)

Good afternoon - after a visit to the solicitor to get the will and probate process started, my sis and I had a long lunch - wine, coffee and chocolate indulgence included - reminisced, got teary etc but it was nice.
Judy - up here, and it probably is the same down there, if the Doc decides a case like your mother's is urgent, they get bumped to the top of the list - my Mum did.

Happy Birthday to Rolanda's Mum plus the other members of the family.
Add my brother to the list of birthdays. It is tomorrow - he'll be 61, but I suppose he won't feel much like celebrating. Strange thing is that my Dad passed away a few weeks before my sister's 60th birthday.

Good Evening, Fellow Sudokuaholics!

Cyn, we are glad to see you posting. Don't feel like you need to be anything for anybody here. Pop in when you feel comfortable just to let us know you are all right. There still is much to do, and we understand! Thinking of you! {{{HUGS}}}

June, how nice that Ken is back home! I hope you didn't worry too much about things, just enjoyed the lunch and the company! Thinking of you! Allow yourself as much time as you need! {{{{HUGS}}}}

Congratulations, Viv, on a spectacular accomplishment! Love all the pictures! Your awards are well deserved!

Judy, quite a shock to suddenly realize you need to find a place for your Mum quickly! All the best as the decision is made!

MizT, what a great idea to make decorative cushions/pillows for Joy's new couch & love seat! Good luck with all of the tests - and dealing without food or coffee! Clear fluids can be very aggravating!

Rolanda, what great news! I hope the Financing goes through for the young man! Having the house sold will relieve a great deal of weight from your shoulders! All the best to you!

Heidi, I'm so glad you were able to get your prescriptions and a Sept. appointment for your next epidural! I'm hoping it will be a REALLY BAD one then! In spite of the pain, you got a lot done today!

Another page to go, but I'm dragging. Lots of , positive thoughts, prayers, and {{{{{HUGS}}}}} to all! Good Night!

Hello again.

Happy Birthday to CynB's brother.

Well, we didn't REALLY think it would be easy, did we? Just been talking to my sister, who's just been talking to my brother, who's been talking to my other brother ... now I'm seeing all kinds of problems ahead!
(Ok, just deleted a few lines of invective ... now breathe in! breathe out! and smile!)

Will see my sister tomorrow, hopefully have a nice lunch together and try to have a bit of pleasant time before we start the whole useless "finding a place for Mum" travesty, because I don't believe for one minute that the plan will go smoothely now ... Well, we had 2 or 3 days of optimism ... before reality hit!

Grrrrr, Alie is in big trouble because I found her hair straightener left on for the 3rd day in a row and the bin in her room smelled so she moved it into Dana's room, her clean clothes have been sitting in a basket in the lounge room for a week and still haven't been put away, and their is a pile of tissues too tall to see over all around her seat in the lounge room.... No MSN until you get that all fixed! So she went on facebook chat!! Bloody cheek!!!

Then she said, well you're sitting down when I told her to get up and do it!

Dana has just called me for the 10th time today. She has really bad morning sickness and is worried. She spent an hour and a half on a drip at the hospital last night - I found out today. I've told her that a lot of people have really bad morning sickness so not to panic, but to call her doctor first thing in the morning and to go to the hospital again if she can't even keep water down again. Don't know what else to do...

Oh dear, Dana, having a baby isn't all beer and skittles, is it?
That said, I really do hope all is well and feel for anyone who gets morning (or all day) sickness.
I think that's what turned me off chicken for good - I remember driving past KFC and smelling the chicken and having to be sick. Yecchhh!

Oh Judy! Is you mother with Vets Affairs? I ask because both my parents were and we have a hospital here in Brisbane that was once the veterans repatriation hospital. They still have a secure vets ward there and that was where Dad was put immediately it was needed, under DVA auspices, until we found him a place. Once he was in the ward, their social worker did all the leg work and we found a place within a week or so.
I do hope something turns up soon.

Poor Dana I feel sorry for her a little, but didn't we all go through very much the same thing having children. As Cyn said I hope she is ok.
Cyn the smell of fish did it for me, to this day I cannot eat fish or bear the smell of it, which makes certain aisles in the supermarket a no go area for me.
I think you are going to have to remind Alie of all the running around you do for her taking her to and from her various commitments.
The other day I had to go into Emily's bedroom to take some clothes in (she was in Cheltenham so couldn't do it herself) and noticed that scattered around her room were at least 9 drinking glasses, three cups, two plates and two cereal bowls. No wonder my cupboards were looking a little bare.
Judy hope you find somewhere suitable for your mother. I agree with Suzy get your siblings to help rather than hinder the operation or do it themselves, then they cannot complain.

Had a lovely lunch. Sat in the sunroom and it was 20+c so a lovely warm sunny day.
All our sons played rep baseball (for NSW) together back in the 80's so we have known one another for a long time and travelled together to watch the boys play. (three of the boys did go to America to play some games. My son was in Statsboro, Alabama for 6 weeks)
Very tired tonight so I might go to bed.
Hair appointment at 9am then off to lunch with some friends I used to work with.

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself. Wish I had time to bake a birthday cake for all the birthdays. Please send birthday wishes for me.

I was also fortunate enough to not have morning sickness. I did get a little queasy at the smell of root beer and coffee, but that was only for the first few months. As long as I walked away from the smell, I was fine.

Where I am is not going to be affected much by Irene. We are supposed to have rain today but not enough to close schools. If they expect high winds that may cause a problem for the school buses, they will shut the schools down but there are no high winds expected. Darn it! I was hoping for an extra day off.

I am out of here for doc appointment today. I did read a bit, but was interupted by phone call, and forgot what i wanted to say.

Tami, sorry you do not get a weather day today, but this is just the first week of school! You should not be tired of it already

Morning sickness, with my first, I had every morning, including the day I delivered! Unlucky that the meds for it did not work, I would not throw up but be nauseated all day. Without meds, I threw up every morning, then was fine all day. I chose no meds.

Suzy, tell Dana I had good luck with my patients with really bad morning sickness, with having one frozen grape every 15 to 20 minutes. The cold and the fruit sugars seemed to help it a lot. Other things that worked for some were one bit from a frozen Popsicle same frequency. Something about keeping that small amount of sugar in the system seemed to work. NOT the whole thing, just a tiny bite.

OK, must go now, hugs to each of you with extras. Till later.

Does anyone want to go have theses tests for me?

Maybe I'm evil, but I hope Dana has a really rough pregnancy. Lots of morning sickness. She has behaved badly and put Suzy thru' too much stress, so she deserves to be hoist on her own petard.

Heidi, I would not wish that on anyone. Dana is still Suzy's daughter and we all love our children, no matter what stress they are putting us through. Dana being sick only gives Suzie more stress.
