Oops, nearly midnight again here. - or is it - ?

Tami, thanks for the brownie the other night. I was certainly not expecting any left-overs from school! So glad the beasties were willing to share! Your "shopping trip" for supplies sounds like a great idea/program! So glad you were able to find things you could use!

Heidi (and MizT's sister), thanks again for the Al updates! I hope all is going well. I suppose he will be in the hospital at least for a few days, which makes it difficult for both Al and MizT!

Heidi, I can understand your concern about having too many males around, so glad you could just do a delivery directly from pick-up to drop-off! "Heidi's Shuttle" at your service! (I hadn't realized that you were planning to breed Angel and Patch.) It's nice to hear that Dexter should be easily placed in his new forever home!

Theresa, I'm SO glad you and your hubby had a relaxing and enjoyable day - with 2 "gails" thrown in for good measure! Wow, it's amazing how quickly D's surgery was scheduled this time! Hopefully she will get through recovery and much of therapy before winter sets in! It's important that she feel secure with her walking before ice and snow appear to make her feel insecure!

Suzanne, such great news that summer's high temperatures seem to be abating! I hope they won't return, as I can also imagine what electric bills might be this summer!

Gail, I'm so pleased that you were able to go to the reunion and that it proved to be all that you hoped for! As I went to a small high school (probably never more than 425 students while I was there - and now closed), they always have all classes for reunions, with emphasis on the multiples of 5-years and 10-years for special recognition. As I'm one of 6, I knew quite a few students both older & younger, so it's nice to have all years at the reunion! Sounds like yours was similar. We also found that once you get past about 10 years after graduation, everyone is just glad to see each other so there's no more posturing and trying to impress. Yep, keep those reunions going! They get more important as the years pass, and you find you can get along with pretty much everyone! Hooray for you, your brother, and the other 80 or so who attended! (It's well worth the occasional lack of sleep.)

Suzy, I think I understand why you wish the child Dana is babysitting had been around and teething a few months ago! At least she is getting paid (I hope) for doing something! Does she have any other job?

Gail, great question and TOPP! I was wondering the same thing about how Suzy could hear the baby!

Suzy, I hope Dana has been feeling better of late. I guess the babysitting is good experience for what is to come . . .

And now, I must head to bed. I want to be bright-eyed for water aerobics tomorrow morning. (I haven't missed a day since we got back, I think. Hubby, on the other hand, has only been to class once or twice all summer. There always seems to be an excuse - just doesn't feel up to it, is really exhausted, needs to eat, etc. I've decided to just go, whether he does nor not.)

{{{{{HUGS}}}}}, positive thoughts, and prayers for all! Good Night!

Hi Everyone,

I wanted everyone to have the link again if you wanted to send him a card. He is in SICU #3 for his room number.

https://www.bhsala.com/forms/CareCards/indexShelby.asp

That link should take you to the card selection screen. I hope the link works this time!

Thank you,
Joy (Al's daughter)

Heidi thanks for the reminder for sending cards to Al. It's one of those addresses no one wants to put into favourites list, so I couldn't remember it.
Have sent a card.

Richard and I have had a little bit of a social life this week, usually unheard of us being out more than once a week.
Wednesday we went to see Los Endos a tribute band to Genesis, we did a gail before hand. Friday we went to our normal pub, which has recently changed hands. As we don't go out until 9:30 we missed the 'Morris Dancers' but there was only one other person in the pub apart from staff and the new owner. We were there until after midnight it was a good night talking. Last night we were out for another meal for a friend's 50th birthday. I should now be getting ready to go out to a BBQ. Weather doesn't look as if it is going to be very good, fortunately our friend has a large house so it can be moved inside. Must put the finishing touches to a raspberry trifle before getting changed.

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.

Gail, thanks for posting all the details of your reunion. It was fun to read and it sounds like you had a really good time.
Brenda, sounds like you had a busy week. Glad it was so enjoyable.
Suzy, I agree. Dana should have been babysitting sooner.

My nephew is getting married away and I am unable to attend. The wedding is in Columbus, Ohio and the price of air fare was outrageous. If it was over the summer we would have driven.

I have never been to, or even heard of, a class reunion from my High School. It's in Costa Rica (Colegio Lincoln) and the class members ended up all around the world in all sorts of countries.

It's the most wonderful time of the year ... There is a store in Canada called Staples (office/stationery/computers) who uses this Christmas song for their back to school sales. I think it's clever, but the oldest grandie doesn't - school starts again on Tuesday. They will be in grades 1 and 3. Anyhoo, I've had that song in my head all day.

Off to get the big haul of groceries. Yahoo, we get to get again.

Theresa, there is a Staples down the street from me. I am on a first-name basis with most of the employees. They are sick of me. They have the best "penny" sales for back to school. I am there everyday stocking up for back to school. I have the most well stocked closet in school. I have the "teacher supply store." When teachers need something the come to me. I have been know to make a good profit.

Mandy was just a bad dog. (She's one of the 2 most recent rescues). She got the cage door for the budgies open and killed a budgie... a pretty young lutino (solid yellow with red eyes). I am displeased.

Oh Heidi, sorry to hear about Mandy killing one of your budgies, thankfully it wasn't more of them. You will have to devise a way of loking the cage so she cannot do it again.

The BBQ turned out not to be a BBQ as the weather was so bad. There was no change that a bbq could be lit the way the rain was coming down. Our host cooked everything in the oven. It still tasted good and the company was great too.

Good morning all - we got back from our lovely weekend away yesterday afternoon. I came here and read the pages, got interrupted by Father's Day visitors, daughter and family, and just didn't get back. I found myself going to bed at 9.50pm last night. That must be the earliest I've gone to bed in years. Why am I exhausted from a fairly relaxed weekend? Probably because I never sleep well in a strange bed and I got up at 5.30am on Sat morning to catch the sunrise over the ocean.

MizT and Al are in my thoughts. Hope it's not too late to send a card, will do that shortly.
Heidi - that's not good about Mandy getting to the budgies.
Brenda - I love the British tradition of calling in at the local pub. Doesn't happen that way here.
Theresa and Tami - your Staples store sounds very much like our Officeworks here in Australia - a veritable treasure trove of stationary and office gadgets.

Cyn, glad you had a nice trip. It does seem that time away makes us more tired.
Brenda, glad the day went well even if it was not a BBQ.
Heidi, I am sure you will find a way to secure the cage. I hope that Mandy does not try again.

Hi everyone.
I must admit that I've heard ot the Staples stores - possibly because I'm in that industry and there is talk of them setting up shop here in Australia.
Sending my prayers and get well wishes to Al. Love to MizT.
I'm glad to hear that Cyn and Gail both had wonderful trips away.

Well I've booked my holiday to SA.
We are leaving on 20th and returning late on 27th September. We are staying at Glenelg (on the beach) for the week and just day tripping around. That will be much easier than moving around and putting bags in and out of the car since I'll be the one doing all that.

We had been under a severe T-storm watch all day - it just ended. We had a few rumble through, but they didn't sound too close. The hydro went off once, just long enough to knock all the digital clocks out. We went for another gail today. Tomorrow we are going to rhe outlaws.

Thanks Gail, You can put them up here. We will go visit the wineries and are also looking at visiting Victor Harbour and going across to the Murray (maybe the Coorong). Anything within about 1-2 hours of Adelaide is good. I don't know if we'll get to Kangaroo Island yet, we haven't discussed where we want to go so any ideas would be welcome.

Good choice to stay in Glenelg, lots to see and do around there.
Definitely the Barossa Valley wineries, McLaren Vale wine region, a day trip to Hahndorf, Cleland Wildlife Park, Monarto Zoo (highly recommend this, went for the first time a couple of years ago, giraffes at eye level feeding just in front of you!), cruise on the River Torrens on Popeye.
