Greetings, Everyone! Woo Hoo! I made it here before 10:30! I hope you are all well!

Happy Father's Day to all of our friends Down Under!

Just sent a card to Al. Boy, those 100 characters allowed for the card get used up quickly! Heidi, thank you again for the updates and thank you for the reminder of how to send a card! (Thanks, also, to Joy!)

My goodness, Brenda, what a busy social life you have had this week! I hope everything has been enjoyable!

Tami, it's too bad you weren't able to go to your nephew's wedding. You're right - airfares are ridiculous! We know some of the people who had hoped to attend D's wedding weren't able to get reasonable airfares, and even thought it was during the summer, gas prices were too high for the distance they needed to travel.

Hooray for Theresa and Mr. Theresa! They can eat again! I hope it is becoming easier to say "No" to cigarettes, dear!

Tami, you are my kind of shopper for back to school! Hubby and I used to shop individually and purchase the limit on the specials. Some years he had to buy a folder to hold class materials for each of his students (5 classes of 30 students). Imagine how many trips it took to buy enough folders (usually limited to 15 per customer per trip). We always watched the ads for Office Depot, Office Max & Staples!

Heidi, I am so sorry Mandy collie has been naughty and destroyed a budgie. Is there a way to keep her away from them?

Welcome back, Cyn and Col! It's not surprising to me that you are exhausted! (We're still trying to get caught up after being home a week.)

Brenda, I'm glad you enjoyed yourselves even though it wasn't technically a BBQ!

Vicki, your planned trip to SA sounds enjoyable (and hopefully, restful)! Seems like Gail will be the perfect tour guide!

Morning all. coffee is ready, help yourself.
Julie, of the office supply stores, Staples is my favorite. They usually allow a teacher to buy 25 of an advertised item, Office Max allows teachers to double the max and Office Depot follows the ad. Walgreen's also has some good sales and will usually allow me to buy extra. It helps to become friendly with the sales people.

Hi all. Miserable morning. Worshiping the porcelain god a lot, tho' not much coming up.... just white foam with spots of blood. If it's not better by tomorrow, I'm going to the doc.

The heat wave is over, The temperature has dropped over 20 degrees and it's raining nicely.

about Al and MizTricia....

"Tricia just called & says Al will be moved to Intermediate Care sometime today. He is allowed to talk again now & is improving.

Also, they should have internet service again sometime Thursday. They had to order a new modem, so as soon as it gets there & installed, they should be back up & running."

Gotta take a shower and get dressed to go out to supper. IH and I are taking his cousin & wife to our favorite Indian restaurant. It's their anniversary today, and ours in 3 days. I hope I can keep the food down. I will have to forego my favorite spicy lamb chops and go with the easier to handle tandoori chicken, garlic naan bread and mango lassi.

Good Morning everyone.
Good Luck in keeping that meal down Heidi.
A visit to the doc is in order I think.
I still have not heard from this 2nd neurosurgeon that I am trying to get an appt. with.
Supposed to contact me last Friday but no luck.
No luck yesterday either so I rang and left them a message.
Is the Sudoku Cookbook somewhere on this site?

Good Morning all!
MizT and Al.

Heidi, if you don't improve, please go to the doctor. I hope you get to enjoy your dinner.

I'm working this weekend - we only have to do it once a year but it sure seems to come around quickly. I normally only go to the show (for newsagents) around lunchtime and stay until nearly closing time at 5. On the Sunday I get to help pack up as well. Next week will be very busy though.

I still have an awful cough, trouble sitting on the computer chair (or any chair for that matter). Just to let you know why I have not been on here. Still worrying about Al and MizT. Especially the long term scenario.

Hello, Fellow Sudokuaholics! I had thought I would get to bed earlier tonight, but got busy searching for some information on the internet, lost the post I had started here, and now it's after midnight. Thinking of all of you, but may not mention everyone as I try to reproduce the lost comments.

Cyn and June, I hope you are both getting caught up on sleep!

June, I hope you are feeling better! Have you seen a doctor? Get better soon!

Heidi, I hope the Indian food continued to sit well on your stomach! Will you be seeing or consulting with a doctor tomorrow?

Suzanne, hopefully you are finding peaceful sleep with the improved temperatures!

V Viv and Heidi, I hope your backs are feeling less "antagonistic" and more "agreeable" today.

Tami, I tend to agree that we had better luck with purchases from Staples back when we were teaching. Also, great advice to develop a rapport/relationship with salespersons in your store of choice! It can make a difference!

Heidi, thank you for the updates on Al & Tricia! Sending them (((HUGS))) and lots of positive thoughts!

Viv, I hope you soon get a response from the second neurosurgeon! It's tough to be in pain and waiting for a medical opinion!

Theresa, I hope all is going well as you stay away from cigarettes!

I really need to get to bed - falling asleep in the computer chair. Positive thoughts, prayers, and {{{{{HUGS}}}}} for all!

Thank you to all who have told me where to look for the Sudokus Cookbook.
Unfortunately I cannot open or save it.
It says the following:
Adobe Reader could not open "Sudokudos Cookbook.doc" because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded.
I have Adobe.

June, I hope your back problems improve soon. Are you getting any treatment for that? The cough too. There's been some nasty colds around this year.. I've been thinking about long term too, and getting annoyed that they brushed it off when he first went in with trouble breathing... then I take a deep breath and hope for the best.

Heidi, TMI!! I love both Indian and Mexican food!

I don't like Officeworks here most of the time. If it's not on sale, it's usually overpriced and could be bought somewhere else cheaper. The only advantage they really have is selection, and I'm okay with shopping around. I miss Staples! I spent a fortune there!! I bet if it does come here it will follow in Officeworks footsteps though. They used to blame the strong US dollar, now I wonder what they're excuse it??? The GFC - might explain it if it wasn't cheaper everywhere else but here!!

Tami, is the link to the cookbook on the recipes page? I wish I'd thought of that the last time I went searching for it...

My day by CynB (Warning - full of whining and self-pity)
Just posted something similar on FB - should have posted here first!!
Started off having a sad day as my sister and I went around to all the organisations requiring copies of Mum's Death Certificate, fortunately we were able to confine that to one large shopping centre and a visit to the Solicitor. Then we went up to the crematorium to sort out putting her ashes with Dad's in the native bush garden up there (just what they would have liked) - to be done on 26 Oct, her birthday. Got sadder with all of that as the day wore on.
Then got home to find that my Foxtel is 'receiving no satellite signal' - we are on satellite, cable not available in our area. (Insert swearing here) Then when we spoke to them, it could not be fixed remotely so I have to wait until Thurs AM for a technician. Not happy, Jan. Bad day for Col too - it's 25 years today since his Dad passed away. So he had no patience with me losing the plot and we had words - rare for us. All sorted now and I know I'm just being a complete self-centred sook!
Having my hair done tomorrow, that might mellow me out, I hope.

Hi all, I've just been looking on the BBC news and saw this http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-14798594 wondered if it had been resolved yet as it is in the breaking news headlines here.
