"The impossible we do immediately. Miracles take a little longer."
Came across a little note book of my Mum's, given to her by a friend. The friend had written out lots of quotes and this is one of them.

Wonderful news Cyn. We need news like that.
Back to recycling. We have bins like Gail, once a week household rubbish, alternate weeks, green and recyclable(metal, plastic and paper) and twice a year we can put out large items on the curb. (No motor parts, building material, gas cylinders or batteries). The council also has a place to take computer parts at certain times (no charge). "Profession collectors" come around and take stuff off the curb, do it up and sell it at markets or garage sales. Saves the council paying to dispose of it.

Went to Belinda's yesterday. Laura had a great time playing with the new puppy Belinda bought a couple of weeks ago. The foal is still on antibiotics but Belinda is taken it somewhere else today as it is costing $100 a day where they are now. (her friend breeds horses and it is where the foal was born) The cost will only be $20 per day and there will be someone on hand at all times.

Morning all,
June, $100 a day had my jaw on the floor! I'm glad she found somewhere more affordable. I hope the antibiotics are still working and that he's still drinking from mum.

Belinda put photos of the puppy on that other page. It's really cute!

Gail, I'd rather you got the day wrong than she was late because something bad had happened. But I still want to know about TAFE!

Heidi, I looked at the name and got all confused. I'll have to read your instructions again.

Heidi, I guess it would make more sense to me if I knew you maiden name, or even your married name...

Hubby had a collie whose kennel name was Sharlindamar Solar Eclipse and another called Sharlindamar Sweet Sue. He actually called them Eclipse and Sue.

Sharlindamar = Sharlotte, Linda, Margaret.. though the S feels weird to me.

Back from the Christmas dinner and gift exchange. I ended up with the worst gift in the exchange... a creche. ( I am an atheist.) Nobody would trade theirs with me. Gil wound up with a really useful tool set. The 2 gifts we brought were among the most popular.

Heidi, put it in your re-gift box ready for next year. I'm sure you have a friend who'd love it.

I offered it to IH for a holiday decoration in his office. He didn't want it and he's religious.

Greetingsfriends, a do nothing day here today. I did wrap a few presents, we wil do Christmas with my family on the 17th. We may not pend more than $1 for a gift, and buy for everyone, but we may re-gift and give home made things. All the guys are getting new caps from me, baseball or truckers type caps, Al had 2 sacks full of never worn caps. The little boys, age 8 and 10 are even getting caps in their favorite colors. I am over half finished and have not bought anything yet. We should have more people at this gathering than we have had in ages, it will be fun.

Remember my sister and BIL please, his mother died just this morning. this is the sister in Georgia. Other sister and BIL and I plan on going over for the funeral, once arrangements are made. Miss Kitty has wanted to die ever since her husband died last year. I think her death was a surprise to all, but once they give up the will to live, who knows.

Heidi, sorry you got a totally inappropriate gift for you. I am not surprised your gifts were among the most popular, you do spend some thought on things like that.

Morning to you Rolanda. How is your Mum? How are you doing?

June, I can see why Belinda is moving the foal, that is a considerable savings.

Here, we have no recycling pick up. If you want to recycle anything, you must find a recycler and take it to them. Some of the towns do recycle garden waste. It is ground fine and made available as mulch. Sometimes the schools have "paper drives" where people can bring bundled newspapers which are sold, the school making a few extra $$$.

Today was unseasonably warm, to make up for the unseasonably cold weather coming by Tuesday. Rain tomorrow and for 3 days, not looking forward to that. Our trip to Georgia will probably be in the rain, bummer.

Nuttin else going on here, so leaving hugs for each of you, with extras.

Where I lived in CA had big bin recycling every week. The State introduced a law that the cities had to reduce their landfill by some percentage or other or face massive fines. Nothing had to be washed, just dumped in the bin. Some cities actually had binless recycling which meant people went through your trash and picked out the recycling. Not at your house, at the dump somewhere.

Congrats on doing such a great job with your Xmas gifts MizT. It would be hard to come up with gifts for $1 (that would be worth having) other than making them or finding something useful like you have. I'd probably end up buying everyone chocolate!

Have a good trip, MizT. Celebrate her life, and be glad that she has rejoined her husband like she wanted.

Sandy will be giving me a peaceful night tonight. I had a bolt rusted shut on my whelping box and had been unable to flip over the top to make an escape proof puppy pen (it was designed to do that), so this morning I got busy with my power tools and cut that bolt off. Angel can still get in and out now, but the puppies won't be able to escape until they're 3 months old, and by that time they'll be out of there and housebroken anyways. Collie pups usually housebreak themselves around 8 weeks old if given the chance.

I have a Dentist appointment at 9 am tomorrow. They're finally going to be cementing in my bridge. The whole thing is loose and one of the anchor posts has fallen out, so every time I eat, the root canal fills with food chunks. It's getting a bit inflamed now, so I'm more than ready. I was supposed to have this done 2 weeks ago, but was at Al's funeral instead.

MizT, I thought about your BILs mother today. I've seen that happen and it's very sad, but it's also a wonderful reflection on the life they had together.

Broni, big hugs! Fainting must be scary when it's not something you do much. My first thought would be low blood sugar or pressure, both of which can come and go but neither of which are too serious. Doesn't matter if it's nothing serious, it's still scary! Glad Bella is feeling better too.

Gail, any news yet?? Tapping foot.

Alie stayed home from school because she's still sick. We did sneak up to the school tonight for a peek at the art exhibition (Alie had a couple of things in it). There were some really amazing pieces, and some average pieces. Alie's probably fell somewhere in the middle and I was very proud to see them there. She's now in her room singing her heart out because a teacher told her the people she auditioned for are coming to the school tomorrow for another listen and she really wants a second chance at getting in. I've been told on the quiet that it's hard work, not a lot of fun, a lot of time out of class and not worth the tonne of money you have to pay out. Alie really wants it so I'm not saying any of that to her! I'll say it if she misses out and not before.

Hi, Everybody! I'm just popping in, but not staying. It's way too late! We met with several couples this afternoon for hors d'oeuvres, then dinner. Two of the couples had a child who got married over the summer (one a destination wedding and one a small wedding) so none of the other couples had been at the weddings and there were pictures to share. We were there EIGHT hours. It took 45 minutes each way to get there, so that's 9.5 hours gone from my day. Luckily, I practiced after breakfast!

I put washing on the line yesterday and we had a storm while e were at Belinda's. ken went out and said they was dry when we got home(late and dark) so folded them into the basket and brought them in. This morning I told him the clothes were all very wet! He had put them in the plastic basket without emptying out the rain water!

Where I live I have two big bins. One for trash, one for recycling. Recycling gets picked up every Friday. My mom gets hers picked out of the garbage. She just dumps everything and they pick it out at the dump. I think she does put newspaper separate.

MEN, June that is all I can. Unfortunately I had to laugh.
Cyn, pleased with the news about Andrew's lady friend.(couldn't remember her name)
Recycling here in the UK is getting better. We have bins and boxes for recycling (in Stevenage, it differs around the country) brown bin for cardboard and garden waste, boxes for tins, plastic bottles, paper and glass. Black bin for normal waste, recycling and waste are collected alternate weeks. Large items we have to get rid of ourselves or pay the council to come and pick them up.
Hope Hannah is back by now!

Sorry, forgot how much she can talk!!!

Had a great time, no dramas, plenty of time spent on the beach, glad to be home, in shower!

The letter is a bit ambiguous, basically says she has met the criteria and they are offering her a place, but it's not official until mid-Jan, she has to make her preference choice, but as she only has the one, her choice is made. I think it means she's in...
