IH gave me a DeWalt work light... without the 18 volt battery (which is the expensive bit) and 2 needed upgrades for my computer (what I asked for (value $58.00). This was a major improvement from previous years.

Heidi, Happy to hear that your gift this year was an improvement over those in the past...Hope springs eternal. Wishing you a release of some of your pain...I have no idea how you do all that you do with so much pain, and am almost as eager as you to have some relief found....We, in S A have a hard time dealing with the pain you continue to have and want it to end for you sooner rather than later.... Help can't come soon enough for all of us here. ♥ Peace!

Supper is over and company gone. Today is the 20th anniversary of buying this farm, so we had Don and Barb over. I served pork chops, twice baked potatoes, broccoli with cheese sauce, cinnamon apple sauce and sparkling blueberry/grape juice. My tummy is happy, tho' my back is screaming at me. We let the puppies in the living room (normally a dog-free zone) so we could lay on the floor and play with the pups. Don took some pictures and promised to email me some.

Thank you all for your happiness and wishes for Chloe and Trent, can't remember who asked but no date set, it was my first question too :) I think it will be quite some time as Trent has just taken out a loan so he can finish his flying hours with the aim of getting a commercial pilot's license.
I said to hubby that now I have a goal for losing this excess baggage I have been carrying for a couple of years!

My little boy is growing up. Mitchell has a date Friday night with his girlfriend. They are meeting at the mall for dinner and window shopping. Hubby, Dylan and I are also going to walk around the (same) mall Friday night.

CYN,I want a copy also please. Cyn, no problem about the tears, I did not really cry, just leaked a bit. for our first Christmas apart, I think that is pretty good.

I started reading and find I am behind big time, find you have started another page also. boy you get chatty when I miss a day.

Can you tell? I am back on my computer, Joy jiggled the correct wire and it started right up, yeah!

I went to the urgent care doc here today, my doc will not be in till next year. I realized yesterday and today I could not handle this alone, that it was something more than a cold. I was so out of breath time I got there, the nurse was telling the young lady who showed me to the exam room that is not good to make someone short of breath walk so far to a room, she should have found one closer. Yep, you could hear me gasping as I walked down the hall.

The lady doctor was very nice, walked in, talked briefly, stopped and looked at me and said, I am going to make you feel better, I promise, then continued asking questions. She did make me feel better, too. first thing was a breathing treatment, boy that was some good stuff. Breathing inproved quickly, then X rays, blood work. She thought I had "walking pneumonia" but test said no. Blood tests did say I had either a blood clot or plain ole every day pneumonia, and pneumonia is what she saw on X rays. I got am injection in each cheek and 5 prescriptions, a steroid dose pack, where you take 5,then 4, 3, then 2 and 1 table a day. Antibiotics for 7 days, an even stronger cough medication, and pills to TRY to prevent thrush again, with a refill in case it does happen. AGGHH. Please, no yeast this time. I feel better already, except for the side effects of the medications. The bronco-dilators in the breathing meds make me jittery and light headed, (same medication is in the inhaler I am to use when difficulty breathing or wheezing comes back, fun fun), the cortisone loosens my tongue and I blab blab blabber and it keeps me awake nights. So if you seem me here odd hours this next week, you will know why.

Joy had to come get me and drive me home, then her best friend came to take Joy back to her car. While she was here, Joy looked at my computer, in less than 5 minutes she had it going again. YEAH JOY, she is such a sweetie, will do most anything I need, I just have to ask.

Fading fast here, just no energy. I think I need to go hold down my recliner once again. I hope tomorrow gives me time to read what I have missed.

Cyber hugs to each of you, I would not get close enough for real hugs. I am selfish, not gonna share hehehe, and you would not want me to share these germs. Till later.

MizT, it sounds like you scored a compassionate doctor, I am so pleased for you. I know exactly what you mean about bronchdilaters, you need so much to sort the breathing problem, but it gets compounded by the speedie rush of the drug! You feel exhausted like you've run a marathon, but can't turn the jitteriness off. Hoping you are sorted out before the weeks out. Not really surprised you have gone down in a quietly screaming mess, it often happens to carers. xoxo

Brenda, probably for the same reason we would - to save petrol and time used for the drive home!

MizT, it was so wonderful that you were not only able to have all of those tests, but were also able to get the results and treatments at the same time! I hope you feel better very very soon...

Yay Gail! They were such teasers waiting so long to put it up there!

Morning all. coffee is ready, help yourself.

Brenda, I don't feel like driving him there, going home, back for him and then back home. He is going to Sawgrass Mills so there is plenty of space for all of us with little chance of running into each other.

Tricia, glad you went to the doctor and she made you feel better. Please rest and get rid of the pneumonia.

Cyn, got the email. Right family looks like fun. Could be a great party game. Congrats again on the engagement. I wish the happy couple all the best.

MizT. Being so physically and emotionally stressed out for so long definitely lowered your resistance to pneumonia, but please don't let it win. Take care of yourself. So glad you found a caring Doc at the ER. So few seem to have any common sense.

Up early because I've been worshiping the porcelain god again. There's such a fine line between taking enough pain pills to knock the pain down a few notches and and taking in enough food to buffer the meds, while trying to lose weight and taking few enough pills to keep the tummy from getting upset.

Hi folks.
Seem to have missed a couple of days... Christmas is exhausting even when you have a quite one!!
We escaped the worst of the storm damage..usual water feature reappeared in the kitchen.. need to get somebody else to check out the flashing.. last person to check it said it was fine .. the puppies [now 14 months old] are becoming less freaked out by thunder and lightning..weren't so sure about hail. I was was watching the rain striking the roof on the bungalow and it was actually bouncing straight back up in the air about 30cms and before being caught in the wind and blown sideways..and that was before the hail started..

Today has been much kinder weather wise..
Pete came over for lunch yesterday. I was exhausted after he left and have done a lot of sleeping since. I had invited him over for lunch on the 25th but it ended up being too much for me with the crazy hours we keep here.

That said I should finish cooking and pottering in the kitchen and get to bed.

Great news Gail..congratulations to the engaged couple.

Cyn please add me to the list.

Tricia I'm glad you have had a few health issues sorted. Take care.

Love & hugs to all.

Heidi you have popped in while I've been typing.
Don't think much of the god you worship..it is such a fine line that balance! Good luck.
Tami that makes a lot of sense.. must confess I reacted a little like Brenda. My 2 younger brothers invited themselves on the first date I ever went on.. we ditched them at the cinema.. I think they just wanted a ride in his Caddilac.. the only one in town...

Bean, I really don't want to see him at the mall. I just want to be near in case. I am a worrier. I trust Mitchell, I just don't trust the other people in the mall. The mall they are going to is the 6th largest in the US.

Suzy, that is one reason I like the urgent care centers, they can get the tests done a few steps away. Are you familiar with them? They are growing in popularity here. Now there are many more of them in convenient locations than when you lived in states. They help fill in the gap between Primary Care Physician and emergency rooms. Wonderful if you really need to be seen now, but you do not have a immediate life threatening problem like stroke, heart attack, major trauma, auto accidents, gunshots, stabbings, drug overdose that require more staff and even more equipment . You get the idea. they have fast results on many lab tests, X ray.

IH is gone until tomorrow night...... with my truck. (His truck will be fixed then.) He had to haul a bunch of lambs to the plant and no rental car can do that. He did rent a car for me to use so I'm not stranded here. I still would be happier if I had my own truck. So now to go back to bed and rest the back and tummy.

Tami - I just checked out that Wikipedia link to the mall - 221472m2 and compared it to our largest mall/shopping centre, Westfield Chermside, which according to Wiki is the second largest in Australia - it is only 144,351m2 and is bewildering, so I can see there's little chance of meeting one another in it!

Tami, Heidi, I remembered who has appointment Jan 3, that is my #1 daughter. And you might remember it Tami, cause I did write about it here.

Feeling a bit better now, had some trouble with side effects of meds that are now wearing off. I just may have to put up with it, as the meds are helping. Thankful today for better living through modern chemistry.

Joy, Roger and sister Edna have kept me company via phone today. resting in recliner is boring, my headache kept me from reading, and can tolerate just so much TV, Having them check up on me and entertain me is nice to break up monotony. I am under dr orders to rest, no exercise or exertion, the antibiotic has a possible side effect of tendon damage if you are up and about. Not fun.

I have all kinds of food here in the refrigerator and freezer, have milk, coffee, 1/2 and 1/2. I think I have juice enough for several more day. It is so nice to have a well stocked fridge and pantry.

then trips to computer to read, I will make it, Just this week starting tomorrow we were gonna clean out and sort the little storage building, and I wanted handyman terry to come rip out the sewing room damaged floor and repair. I would have to move all my fabric, Not gonna happen. He has 3 days off over new years, so enough time to do the job. I have the materials, it was a GOOD plan, and he needs the money. his money disappeared from his checking account over the holiday weekend.

Heidi,we think he got cleaned out by a group that has put electronics into card readers at local fast food establishment. they see and record all the information needed to use your card. At least that is what happened locally over thanksgiving, it is thought they did it again Christmas, when noone could report it, banks closed more days.
