We have snow and freezing rain moving in within the next hour. It's the same storm that has already arrived at MizT's.

Happy Valentines Day everyone!!

No bubs yet, though there are more signs that it is near. TMI type stuff though, but I thought I would be posting from the hospital this afternoon.

For Valentines every year I buy everyone (including myself) chocolate of some type. Hubby sometimes buys me flowers, sometimes not. We celebrate with the younguns 'cause we love them too. Not this year though! I bought flowers as well as chocolate, Alie is having dinner with her bf, Dana is having pizza on her own and hubby and I are going out for Indian food. It was Dana's idea btw. She will probably enjoy some alone time. I haven't done anything without her for weeks now. Sigh. It has brought us closer, but...

Heidi, Dana wants to know why 'crumb crusher'? I thought it sounded good, but wasn't able to explain.

Hope everyone is having/had a nice Valentines day. I gave hubby a card and that is as far as we celebrate. Sometimes he has given me a card and once someone persuaded him to buy some roses at the end of the day when they were selling for half price!
I had a fantastic day at bowls. Played like a champion and won two small prises. Most times my game is very ordinary! My cakes all sold very quickly.

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone. Hubby bought me a box of chocolate-covered cherries, which are a favorite of mine, actually anything chocolate is. We don't do much. Dylan has the little cards to pass out at school. Mitchell has a small chocolate piece to give to his "sweetie" at school. My boy is growing up.

All I can think Suzy is that your two never made any crumbs when they were little. I know mine did so I understood what Heidi meant by the term.

My favorite aunt always called babies "crumb crushers". Babies make messes with their hands of everything they start to learn to eat. I thought you had two of them, Suzy?

I've always thought that "crumb crusher" was a cuter, and more loving, nickname than "rug rat".

Heidi, I agree, never did like rug rat for a nickname.

Nuttin going on here, guess that is good. Our rain lasted well into the night, just cloudy and yuck today, but much warmer out. I could use a little sun, though, since I am part plant I really need the sun.

Heidi, how much snow did you get? We had sleet and a bit of snow mixed with rain, but nothing stuck, temps were too warm. I remember growing up, we often had snow the week of valentines day. Our church had a sweetheart banquet, girls in fancy dresses and skimpy shoes. I remember trying to wade the tiny b1/4 inch of snow in open toed shoes, they were like shovels, scooped up all that cold white stuff.

See you again soon, till then, hugs to each of you, with extras.

I dislike always getting voice mail when I call a business, and a promise to return a call within 24 hours. My experience has been they do not return calls. I got a bill today I disagree with, cannot get a real live person. If they do not return my call tomorrow, I shall just pay the part I owe, and see how long it takes for them to contact me after that.

About the crumb-crusher and rug rat nicknames, I once read a book that referred to kids as house apes. Don't remember the book but I remember the dad in the book calling his kids by that nick name.

Morning all, no bubs yet.

Mine didn't make crumbs they made sticky goo!

MizT, I've heard many times to only pay the part you believe you owe as paying the rest can be considered accepting the debt. I hope they wake up and call you before it gets to that though. Now I think about it, perhaps not calling back is a deliberate tactic. Perhaps many people will pay the bill in full to avoid trouble. I've never tried to wade through snow in open toes shoes, but they are very good at scooping up stones so I can imagine being even better at scooping up snow.

Heidi, I would have agreed with you about rug rats except that I love the cartoon! I haven't seen it in years. It must only be on cable.

Hubby just walked in as he is going out 'in the field' and needed his steel capped boots. I asked him how one of his projects was going and he was in the middle of telling me when his phone rang. He left while still talking to them!! I'll have to have a go at him when he comes home tonight.

I'm going to make myself a cup of coffee, visit that other page for a while, and then get stuck into some ffuts!

Back from the Cattlemen's meeting. It's SO strange, and annoying, to eat with the tongue STILL numb!
MizT... it was a tiny bit too warm for the snow to stick here, too. We got the same combination that you got.
I agree with you about voice mail. I don't think businesses should have them, except for after hours. If I'm not important enough for someone to talk to me, they don't want my business.

I followed IH to the mechanic's on the way to the meeting, so he could drop it off to be fixed. He was having difficulty steering,,, he thought the power steering was out. We stopped by on the way home, and he found out that the joint connecting the steering column up had broken. He'll be without transportation for several days. He's too cheap to rent a car for only a few days, so he's back using mine.

Late Night Greetings, Everyone! I hope everyone has had an excellent Valentine's Day! We don't celebrate here, either. We send flowers to the girls. Hubby would occasionally bring home a single rose that he bought at the end of the day (school fund-raiser). Neither of us left the house today until we left together to go to the wood club meeting.

It's good to see your posts, MizTricia! I bet your house smells yummy with all of that chicken cooking! So sorry you're still having computer difficulties! Stay warm and be careful!

Rolanda, wonderful news that you'll be having a "visitor" from Melbourne for Easter. Are you counting the days?

June, how thoughtful of you to also make gifts for the baby! You must be like the "Energizer Bunny." You accomplish so much every day! FOUR cakes for the bowls fundraiser! And, of course, all of them sold quickly! At least you didn't stay up until midnight making covers for the bowls! Was it a good book? So sorry for the lost post! Now to answer your question about other instruments, I had flute lessons (borrowed flute from an older cousin) in sixth, seventh and eighth grades and played in the band through high school and college. I wanted to take piano lessons, but had trouble reading 2 clefs at once, so just used an easy chord for the left hand. (That was good enough for the years when I taught Kindergarten.)

Broni, thank you for sharing the information about Orianne! I'll try to stop by her page when I finish here. Enjoy your work!

Suzy, I'll be thinking about Dana! Don't fret over her weight loss. Everything will be fine!

MizT, I totally agree with you about voice mail! I can't remember ever getting the promised "return call." MIL didn't understand at all. If the message said to "Press 2 and leave a message," she would hold down the 2 the entire time she was trying to leave a message. As you can imagine, she NEVER got a return call! We would try to make calls for her on the weekend when we didn't teach. Some places would not accept the information or requests if they decided the call was being made by someone other than the person named on the account. I used to practice my "little old lady" voice, and apparently got good enough that I finally could make her calls for her.

Heidi, I'm hoping the feeling will return to the end of your tongue soon! Wouldn't you know IH would have vehicle trouble again! Be sure you check mileage before he takes your truck, then check when it's returned. It might give you an idea of where he goes.

Gail, what super news! Hannah is loving her course - and - has had her braces removed!

Suzy, good luck to Dana and baby, whenever baby is ready!

Must head to bed! Positive thoughts, healing vibes, prayers, and {{{{{HUGS}}}}} for each and every one of you! Good Night!

Thanks for your musical history Julie. Makes it easy to understand about you learning the cello.
Suzy, did the parcel arrive? I only posted it yesterday afternoon so did not expect you to get it before Thursday.
I just read another of Anne Frazier's books on the Kindle. Murder mysteries but books I just want to keep reading when I should be doing other things.
