And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

Heidi, MizT hope you stay safe and power outage free.
Heidi as normal if you want something done you are going to have to arrange it yourself.
I ache all over, I know it is my own fault, as I have been doing painting in Andrew's room. Skirting boards and door/door frame all undercoated. Will have to do the gloss tomorrow. I know why I normally pay a decorator to do it.

The subdivision next door to Robert's apartment has just been hit by a tornado. Most of the houses and trees are gone, along with businesses nearby. Robert sat and watched, while drinking a cup off coffee. His apartment is unscathed.

Not too long ago, I found postcards for our area at Wal mart, on one of those carousels at the front of the store. They are also often found at rest stops on the freeway, at State welcome centers, and at places like Cracker Barrel, Stuckey's, and other "freeway franchises". I hope that helps you locate some, Heidi and Mama.

I am making twice baked potato for my lunch, adding some ham, broccoli and cheese, it is smelling good.

Forecasters have missed again, you are right Heidi, nothing anywhere near us, no chance of T storm entering the state by 1 pm.

Timer went off, time to claim my 'tater. Hugs to each of you, till later.

The puppies found my rainbow feather boa that I wore at Fionafest. Not only has it provided hours of unrestrained joy, but I have the most colorful lawn in the neighborhood.

there is now q tornado watch for counties north of us, closest is about 70 miles or so, till 9 pm. I hope they do not extend it south, would meanwe got it middle of the night. I do not want to stay up on tornado watch tonight.

heidi, national news barely mentioned your first "possible tornado" nothing about the one you just reported. perhaps to early to make the news yet, I should look for a kentuky news outlet.

My twice baked tater was as good as it smlled, and very filling. Might not even need dinner, but will make that decision later, not now.

hope we hear from Julie soon, one tornado hit harrisburg Illinois, not sure how close to Julie that is, but reorted 6 dead in that one town. It also hit the medical center there, taking out a wall, exposing patient rooms and offices. Patients reportedly had been moved to interior hallways before the tornado hit.

Hugs and stay safe.

It's quieted down here. The storm is over.
MizT.... all I know is what Robert reported to me as an eye-witness. He saw the tornado, and watched it destroy. He said that the house in front of him was lifted off its foundation and rose 4 feet in the air before crashing down. He watched roofs being torn off, and cars flying around almost like kites. Robert, like me, has a very poor sense of self preservation, so he sat and enjoyed the show. He told me that most of Hodgenville (our county seat) was blocked off by the police because of downed trees and power lines. He told me of one lady he talked to, who had been sitting in her easy chair in her living room. The tornado hit, and destroyed her home while she sat, leaving her living room, and her, untouched. I plan on going and looking around tomorrow. I figure that they don't need sightseers right now.

I haven't been a bad girl in a while, so I just bought some new birds, a species that I've wanted for awhile. They're Forbes Parrot Finches. I bought 2 pairs from a breeder in California. They're probably flying out here in 2 days. I posted a picture of one, but it doesn't show off the bright red rear end well.

Morning folks.
Stay safe Heidi... tornado's sound far too scary for me...
June is the road to Melbourne still going to be open? So more many evacuations happening in NSW..flooding in Narrandera, West Wyalong, Jerilderie... I really don't know what would be the safest bet. Doesn't look a lot better closer to the coast.. Cowra is in BIG trouble..
Stay safe EVERYONE..
BIG hugs

Just checked the NSW road hazards...scary stuff for travellers... the route I would normally take is cut in a multiple places. My sister had a nightmare trip trying to travel from Melbourne to Swan Hill on Monday with many detours to avoid the rising floodwaters, flying debris etc.

The internet news is studiously avoiding talking about the tornado here. There was another one that hit Liberty, KY, and they won't admit that it was a tornado yet, despite people seeing it. How many people have to see a tornado, and how much damage does it have to do before "they" admit that it was really a tornado?

Late night greetings to everyone!

I apologize to anyone worrying about me because of the tornadoes. It has been a busy day, so I wasn't able to pop in to let you know all is OK and I'm far away from the tornado's destruction. I live about 20 miles northwest of Chicago, which is in the northeastern part of Illinois. Harrisburg is located in the southeastern part of the state - about 57 miles (92 km) southwest of Evansville, Indiana, 111 miles (179 km) southeast of St. Louis, Missouri, and is included in the Illinois-Indiana-Kentucky Tri-State Area.

Seems like there's a lot of rain on several continents. Unfortunately tornadoes have accompanied some of them. I hope all is well in your area, Heidi! Prayers for those who lost their lives or their homes.

I forgot who suggested finding postcards at a "dollar store." That is where I finally found mine. They were for Chicago, not the city where I live, but they were nice. A call to a nearby town's historical society museum found a couple more postcards, but I didn't have time to drive there to get them.

I see Heidi has provided more of "The Jabberwock" for us. Such fun! I once had a teacher who recited it with such expression that you almost felt you could understand what he was saying.

Heidi, the Forbes parrot finches are beautiful! What a great addition they'll be to your aviary!

Suzy, thinking of your Mum and hoping all is well in her area! What horrible weather!

Seriously need to get ready for bed here. Positive thoughts, especially for those having weather-related problems, healing vibes, prayers (for everyone), and {{{{{HUGS}}}}} - plenty to be shared. Good Night!

Hello all, back on my phone but this time because I have Natahlia on my lap. Enjoying some Grandma time and giving Dana a break. Natahlia has been very fussy today.

Dana is doing all the right things, butI'm sure all the mums remember what hours of a fussy baby is like. This time she settled after a diaper change and acouple of burps, but earlier today that didn't work, go figure

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.

Rolanda, glad to hear that the service went well.

Julie, the two postcards you already sent are enough. They are both beautiful and the kids will enjoy them. I am not putting the postcards on display until I can laminate them or they won't hold up.

June, THANK YOU SO MUCH for the envelope of postcards. They are amazing. I brought them home to show hubby and kids but will bring them back. The other teachers are enjoying them also and I am sure the kids will think they are amazing as well.

Heidi, the new birds are pretty. I hope you enjoy them.

Suzy, glad that Natahlia settled down for you. Sometimes they just want grandma. Both boys preferred being with grandma than me or so it seemed.
