He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

Just had a yummy light dinner. My car picnic today was lovely, and a tad late in the day, so I was not ready to eat again till late evening. I had some leftover chicken vegetable soup, home made, and some strawberries, frozen of course, but whole berry frozen without sugar. I do not defrost them completely, so they are not mushy, sprinkle with Splenda, very good.

I have discovered that if i take my pain meds with either orange juice or grapefruit juice, they begin to work faster. No hours of sitting in pain waiting for it to work. Last 3 times, worked in about 45 minutes or an hour , MUCH better. Now If I will just not wait till pain is great fore i take again, I might get this under control. I just hate taking pain meds, think it will get better on it's own. It has proved that thought wrong over and over. You would think I could remember that, eh?

Thursday is the day the apartment complex has a tour. sister and I are going to go. I do want to see a one bedroom apartment, and without balcony, that doe change the floor plan a bit. also need to make a list of questions. Gas or electric stove? Is there a dishwasher. the hand held shower, is it a massage head, or just shower head. How big is the closet by the front door, just across from the kitchen? I need to fit that out as a pantry for pots an pans, plus groceries. Is there a garbage disposal? Where is trash collected? Where are laundry rooms and how many in building. i saw one, but it only contained 4 washers, 4 dryers, surely not enough for 140 apartments.

Tricia - hope you get satisfactory answers to your questions and wise to think of everything and write them down - some may be answered as you do the tour.
And I hope you get into the swing of taking pain meds before the pain gets bad! Big hugs to you.

What a dreadful day it has been It was 32*c and very humid. An awful day for playing bowls outdoors in the sun.
Lost the game but the company was good.
Came home and emptied the fish pond (100 litre pot) as the water was very green. That is cleaned and filled, water treated so will put the two fish back tomorrow. Did not make my back happy. Now inside with the AC on.
Not sure if I like the weather forecast.Predicting up to 300mm of rain in Southern NSW in the next few days and we are driving to Melbourne leaving here late Thursday. We are hoping to see Kyle (9 year old grandson) play baseball on Friday night. We will fly home next Tuesday.

Rolanda, hope you all had a nice day. A time for lots of reminising and a few laughs and a few tears.
Cyn, watching Monty would be fascinating. You will be exhausted after the weekend but I am sure you will also enjoy it. It is also the cleaning up after they go home. I end up doing craft, cooking etc which means there are things I have to put away. Actually I have not seen Laura for over three weeks. Not sure what her father is doing.

Broni, We owned the car Sharon was driving. We did offer it to Laura's father if he wanted to buy it from us and said he could have it at a good price. He never gave us an answer (he has two vehicles that he can use for work, and other than for his mother and her walker he did not need the expense of this one. I am sure he thought we should have just let him keep the car. A Toyota Camry about 5 years old and in good condition) so we are giving it to our son. The car Neil is driving to work is nearly falling to pieces.

Hi, Everyone! I hope you have had/are having a great day!

Rolanda has had a busy day with builders.

Cyn has added Em, Andrew, and Monty the Python to the household.

Heidi has a new heifer calf and had a yummy dinner with the Lions Club. Hopefully the rest of the hay will be moved in the next day or two. Unfortunately, her tongue is still numb. She will be helping her friend's adopted daughter.

MizT is continuing to feel better and hoped to make her trip to the store into a car picnic.

Rolanda got beautiful flowers and she and her sister went to visit their aunt.

Heidi continues to provide The Jabberwock in installments for TOPPS! What a fun way to enjoy that poem!

June, so sorry for the sun, heat, and humidity during your bowls game, but, as you said, there was good company.

Tricia, what a great idea to have lots of questions prepared so you can make the best of the tour of the apartments. I hope you get all the answers you need, and hope there will be an opening as soon as you hope to be able to move there.

Cyn, I hope you enjoy your full house during the weekend!

Broni, I'm glad you asked about June's travel, as I was also confused about driving one direction and flying the other.

Suzy, I hope things are calming down at your house and communications remain open!

Really must head to bed now. Hello to anyone I missed. It was unintentional! Healing vibes, positive thoughts, prayers, {{{{{HUGS}}}}} and for everyone, whether you were able to pop in today or not! Good Night!

Out of allowance so I'm doing this on my phone, not my favourite way.....

I had to come on though so I could share our happy news with you. I say happy because there was some serious excitement, lots of oh my gods and huge smiles. Yep another SA package has arrived. Dana is really blown away by your generosity Heidi and absolutely loves the moccasins. Perfect! No photos until we get our internet back unfortunately

How did I get so lucky and find such a wonderful, generous group of friends?

Thank you all my friends for my birthday wishes from last week. I had said that we were not going out for my birthday, but I was wrong. Our youngest, Emily, came home from uni especially for my birthday so we had to go out. Unfortunately Andrew was at work so I will do something with him. It is his birthday this Thursday so we will go out for that. He has taken a weeks holiday, mainly to decorate and refurbish his room, we will have to get a move on as the new carpet is being fitted tomorrow. His new bed frame has arrived but the mattress isn't coming till next week, so he is using his sister's room until then. We need to look for a new wardrobe too but that isn't essential.
((HUGS)) to everyone who need or even wants them.

Just had a nice dish of ice cream with stewed rhubarb and strawberries.
Phoned Laura tonight and got told she was going to come to us this weekend. Unfortunately we will be away. Anyway at least he was talking to us tonight.
Nice to see that you had time to drop by Julie.
I bet those moccasins are cute Suzy.
Hubby has turned the AC off so I am getting hot and sticky so I will go to bed and put the one on in there. Hubby can be very generous and the next he is penny pinching for a few cents.
I intend being comfortable.

Thank goodness Suzy mentioned the parcel - I have something to send - got the address from June last week - then all h3ll broke loose in this household and it has been sitting on my dressing table since. I'll write myself a note to get it ready in the morning and post when I go to get my hair done (got to have no grey hair showing when I meet the Melbourne crew on Sunday week - so excited!!!)

June, I turned off the A/c after I finished dinner and it's really hot here now too.
Well that's all done - after 4 days of packing, storing and cleaning, Andrew hands back the keys tomorrow and goes back to work, which he says will be a doddle after the last 4 days!! Love it when men have to do krowesuoh! Hehe!

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself. Sounds like my friends have been having busy days and could use a cup. I can make it iced coffee for those down under I can not live without AC during the summer here. We get temps in the high 90's (35+) with very high humidity. Feels like is usually 100 (37-38).

Time to get to school. Glad all is well. See you all later.

SO glad that you and Dana like the baby moccasins, Suzy. I figured Natahlia had to start off life right. To me, moccasins are the ultimate footwear. Two pairs were hand made by Native American craftsmen/women that I dealt with directly. The other pair I just thought were cute.

Greeting friends, a damp, grey, yucky day today. Good day to wrap up in a qquilt with a good book, and that is what i did. It is not cold, it is just the damp can seep into old bones.

Joy will come down for dinner tonight, making a couple of stops for me on the way. they did not have half and half when I went shopping yesterday, and about. coffee is just so much better with a dollop of half and half.

I cleaned out a console table and a chest today, well almost finished the chest, I listened to my body and stopped when it said stop. I got 2 small trash bags to trash, and couple of boxes to go to yard sale. neither of those had been cleaned out in YEARS, things Al did not use but did not want tossed. i think he just did not want to do the work or make the decisions. Old VCR tapes, blank and ones promoting a product he sold many years ago. tossed the promotion ones, and put the blank ones in yard sale, that type thing. did not find anything that i had to keep.

speaking of coffee, I just made some, damp days are good days for coffee. hey, any excuse hehehe.

I did read, i did forget. Remember heidi breaking the site, and no one would come repair it till Broni woke up, thanks Broni.

In summer here, we just are rarely able to torn off the AC come night. It stays to humid, and too hot also most nights. I do think it takes more energy to pull all the humidity out of the house come morning if you did try to turn it off, than to keep AC on overnight. Clumsy sentence, but best i can do at the moment.

Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Quickly perused comments before leaving the site!

Sorry you're out of allowance, Suzy, but can't wait to see the baby moccasins!

Brenda, enjoy your second birthday dinner as you celebrate with Andrew.

June, the ice cream with stewed rhubarb & strawberries sounds yummy! It's a good thing you talked to Laura and found out in advance so her plans could be changed. I hope you can stay cool! (I'm lucky, in that hubby doesn't like to be too cold in the winter or too hot in the summer, so is willing to adjust the thermostat.)

Cyn, I'm glad to hear that things have calmed down a bit - and just on time for them to get crazy again for the weekend! I can understand Andrew preferring to go to work instead of doing krowesuoh and ffuts!

Gotta run! Maybe back later.
Tami, I hope you had a good day at school today! (Just heard on the radio that a girl gave birth in an area high school bathroom today. Aren't you glad you're in a middle school?)

Heidi, how thoughtful of you! On a different subject, wouldn't it be nice if the calf would be born before bedtime - or is always overnight?

Hi, Broni! So glad you could drop by and fix the site so we can continue posting!

Welcome back from your busy weekend, Vicki!

You are in my thoughts always Rolanda ♥

If I have deciphered the days correctly, I think today is the day Stella is laying her mother to rest. I think the theme of the service was hats, all were going to wear a hat because I think her mother loved them. ♥

Please post on Stella's Sudoku page, as I don't think she comes to SA enough to see all our messages of condolence xoxo

I'm checking out tornado damage in the area from a half hour ago hit.

"Reports of damage from Wednesday morning's storms are coming in from Elizabethtown in Hardin County.

Officials say a factory was damaged near the intersection of Kentucky 210 and US 31W. Also a home was damaged and powerlines were downed in the same area. Also, damage was reported at a mobile home park in the area., where reports say several mobile homes were destroyed. So far, there is no word on any injuries.

LEX 18 is tracking the storms and will have more details as they become available"

Robert called me to tell me that people are trapped in the Dow Corning factory, and word has it that there are deaths. We are under tornado watch for a few more hours. Another violent wave of storms is about to hit here in about 15 minutes.

Heidi, thinking of you, hope the second stormss by pass you and you have power restored soonest. Did you ever buy q generator after the year you were without power so long?

that same cold front that is causing heidi's storms is due through here this afternoon. they are saying no tornadoes, just high winds and lots of rain for us. I do hope they are right. I have signed up for a weather alert message to be text to cell phone, if my address is within the smaller polygon warning area, NOT an entire county, but that box seen showing where the tornado is apt to go. MUCH better than the warnings that covered entire counties and often more than one county if the inconsiderate tornado was near a county line.

Yes, "I" bought a huge generator, and IH said that he would arrange for it to be wired in to the house, to switch on quickly when needed. That hasn't happened, despite almost daily fights over it. So we have a generator that isn't usable.

I've been watching your weather as well, MizT, and all of the tornado producing storms will be well north of you. You will still get wet, though.

Afternoon All,
Nasty weather forecast for near-by areas, but we're simply having all day rain with possible thunder storms later in the day where I live. Reports of storm damage and increasing death tolls in areas hit during the night...hope those affected are okay for now. Heidi and Tricia..stay safe.

Tami, I've tried without success to find postcards...perhaps when I go into the city I'll be able to find and send some at that time. I do feel badly, but am also wondering if we've passed an era where the postcard was a keeper? They are not used to stay in touch as they once were, but still represented a great way to have wonderful visits of places visited. Seems a shame that they are so scarce.

I'm now drawing a blank about comments I had wanted to respond to, so will say so long for now with hugs for all....Peace.
