The one time I had a tornado go directly over me, we had hail first, then the express train sound about 20 seconds later. Today, we had THREE bouts of hail with roaring wind, but I didn't hear the express train. So, close, but no direct hits.

Bean...... I think all puppies consider toilet paper to be the perfect plaything. Some children do, too.

Heidi just wondering when they will grow out of the puppy stage.. they are WELL OVER 12 months of age. It is hard not to laugh at their antics. They wouldn't settle down last night. Woke up with 3 dogs on the bed with me... Lachie had constructed a 1.5m [~5'] barrier across the kitchen to keep them up my end of the house.. where they couldn't see possums through the 2.5m plate glass windows in the sun room.

Rain rain rain here. Three inches have already fallen, two more are expected in next 2 hours. gusts of wind blowing this rain horizontal. If our road is not flooded now, it will be shortly. I am glad I do not need to go out tonight.

there are no warnings now except for flash flooding, small streams out of banks. the cold front is approaching, there is a lone of storm stretching across 6 states. Heidi's weather is over, the storm has passed her. Ours was supposed to be gone by now, but I estimate another 2 hours of heavy rain.

Daughter Tanya phoned me a couple of hours ago. she has taken her father to ER. You might remember, he is doing peritoneal kidney dialysis at home, over night. He had some problems last night, had to phone his nurse on call. tonight fluid would go in, but not drain out, and that excess fluid in abdomen was making him short of breath. I do hope this is an easy fix for this, and that Tanya can step up and handle this minor emergency.

did I say the phone text alerts are working nicely? Phone rang when it shold hve, good to know.

that's all from here for now.Hope i can go to sleep soon, but this blowing rain is noisy. I do not think I could stay asleep, no problem getting to sleep but one of those noisy gusts do wake me with a start. hope i can wait it out.

Love and hugs to all, till later.

Hi, Everyone! Just popping in, then soon to bed!

Suzy, I can't think of anything to say that hasn't already been said. We are here for you in any way that we can be of help. Sending prayers and healing thought to your Mum, you, and your family! I hope all goes well at the Melbourne hospital!

Heidi and MizT, please be careful and stay safe! It seems this spring's tornado season is going to set records.

MizT, I've enjoyed your description of the retirement apartments. They really sound wonderful! The place where my Dad was also had birds, but this was back before SA and all we've learned from Heidi. There were also a couple of senior dogs who seemed to be free to visit any of the residents.

Heidi, I hope the new birds adjust quickly and find their new home to be to their liking! I hope you soon feel better!

Tami, I hope Dylan's game went well and his new bat was effective!

Broni, I hope the boat will soon be finished - for this year.

Bean, I knew cats liked rolls of toilet paper, but didn't know that about dogs.

Hi guys, in Melbourne and about to be settled for the night. Mum is physically finding it a bit tough, but mentally is very strong. She says it's okay 'I've done by bucket list'.

She fell asleep in the middle of a sentence today when we got to the hospital/hotel. We left and went back later only to find her asleep again. They'd woken her up to eat and she'd gone back to sleep. We left and will go back in the morning.

Had a very busy day - with a huge family reunion with all my cousins from Dad's side of the family, so with that, and my house guests, I can think straight, have read but not comprehended anything much other than there has been some ferocious weather around Tricia's and Heidi's home - stay safe.
And, of course, Suzy - you, your Mum and family are in my thoughts.

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.

Suzy, continued thoughts and hugs going out to you.

Bean, I don't know when dogs grow out of the puppy stage but I am still waiting for the beastie boys to outgrow the "terrible two's" and they are 15 and 11.

Julie, they did not have a good game. They lost 19-0. Dylan had a good hit, but was thrown out at first. They were just a better, more experienced team.

Tricia, the retirement place sounds nice. I hope things work out quickly for you.

Heidi, glad the storms did not give a direct hit to your farm. I am watching the news and it is horrible.

Suzy...love your Mum's mental attitude...praying that her physical weakness will improve enough to be able to bear the end with out too much discomfort and to revel in her greatest joy...her children! May the dove of peace and well-being walk with you all as you travel this well worn road of time.♥((((HUGS)))))

Bean.... I think dogs are like us. Some of us will always be kids at heart. I do know that the larger breeds of dog are considered to be puppies until they turn 3 years old. It's a mental development thing. Kind of like human kids really don't become adults, mentally, until they turn 21.

It was a quiet night with no storms, for a change. But my body hurt so much that I didn't sleep well. I think it is a 'flu bug. I must thank Robert for it.

IH left me a note saying that there is a new calf, but he couldn't get close enough to see who the cow is, or what sex the calf is, much less tag it. So I gave to get bundled up against the mud and do it myself. These storms have brought torrents of rain and the mud is now deep. The worst thing possible for calving.

I don't know why IH had so much trouble getting near the cow/calf pair. I walked up to them, ID'ed the cow, looked under the calf to check gender (heifer) and snapped a tag in it's ear. Without so much as a struggle. And this with a fever, body aches and dizziness. I'm heading back to bed. I hate the 'flu.

Here at the Epworth hotel. I sure hope the rooms are as luxurious as the reception area, and that there are as many staff as at a luxury hotel

I am glad the tornadoes have missed so far, have to admit to feeling sorry for Heidi's poor cows in the hail storm

Hi everyone. :)
Suzy, I'm so sorry about your Mum. If there's anything I can do for you just let me know. ♥♥
I think Rob's Mum was at the Epworth for a while.
Nothing much happening here - alternating rain and sun ... did some gardening work, but lots of mozzies out now, so headed back inside!

We were out there for five minutes Judy and got eaten! They don't normally bother me but they were feasting :(
Hubby is such a bloke, he just used his chainsaw for I think the 4th time since we bought it, almost 10 years ago! We had the top of a dead gum break off a couple of days ago and we thought it had landed in no-man's land, but I just did a walkabout and saw that it has landed on our tiny little Robinia. The sapling had bent over to the ground but not snapped so I am hopeful. Also, one of our pittosporums had rotted at the base and fallen over on the rose garden, so both things have been cut up in short enough sections to enable us to get them off the plants for now. We will deal with everything properly another day, a day when the mozzies aren't so hungry!

Update, mum is having another brain s can tomorrowand then , assuming it is operable they will remove the lesion (sounds better than tumour) on wednesday.

They chose the brain rather than lungs or pancreas because she is starting to wobble when she walks. It's all about the quality of the time she has left.

Hi, All! A relatively quiet day here. Thinking of all of you!

Suzy, {{{HUGS}}} and for you! May your Mum's doctors carefully do what needs to be done and provide some relief for your Mum! Prayers for all involved!

We had a long day, starting with a drive to my home town (about 3 hours) to visit the new historical society/cultural center for a display on "work" (farming, railroads, manufacturing in small towns, etc., and a short movie on railroading which included interviews with several people from our home town who had worked for the railroads. Then another 45 minutes drive to my sister's for haircuts, followed by dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant there with her, her hubby, her youngest son & his girl friend. Finally, back home, and soon to bed.

I'm sending positive thoughts, healing vibes, prayers, and {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}} for all to share!

Thought I had a day off from the boat but noooooooo did the fibre glassing this afternoon. Should have the day off tomorrow to catch up on swearing and swearing. Have learnt how to cut out wood rot, treat the timber with two pack hardening stuff, rebuild the area with plywood and the other two pack glue stuff and do the fibre glassing. Should be an expert by now.....bet Heidi knows what I am talking about!

I had to take Mum to the optometrist and to get her hair trimmed. I did her shopping while she was at the hairdresser. It took Kevin and I 20 minutes unlike the hour or more it takes when she tags along.
To fill in time while we waited we wandered up the mall to see Jamie Oliver talk outside his "ministry of food" shop. We didn't have tickets but just wandered into the church grounds beside where he was and could see and hear him clearly. I hope the 650 people who had tickets didn't have to pay.

I better post or I will be accused of breaking the site. I am enjoying a quiet Sunday morning at home. Boys are at Hebrew school and hubby is playing softball. I am doing some work for school. I am getting a new group of students in a few days. I will be getting one class of 8th graders who need to "make up" work or they will be retained. The students can fail two courses a year and still get promoted but must recover the class or will not go to high school. In the past, they were given a packet and if they passed it, they "recovered." This year, they are going to be doing a lot more work, all computer based. I just set up my online classes and assigned the students work, based on their grade. I will be getting all of the problem kids in one room.
