HEIDI, I know what you mean and love the "slightly pregnant" comment, hehe. I think the doctor was referring to how much fluid was present, a tiny spot of fluid and infection. Like a pregnancy, without intervention, it would have grown. Just not as difficult to treat at this early stage.

Back is screaming, pain meds not working as long as they should, I am giving the TENS unit a good workout. it runs for 30 min as set now, and I know this is the 4th time I have turned it on since 2 pm. I think I will go and hold down the recliner some more. I was up and about to make a pot of coffee, see if that would help the pain meds to work.

I'm so sorry to hear that you're hurting so much, MizT. You might want to soak in a hot bath. I find that helps to ease up the spasms.

Great to hear Mama is improving. Pleased you can spend some time with your Mum Suzy. Busy as I am off to Belinda's place later. Have to pick Laura up after school and take her with me. will be home late Saturday.
Ken left for India this morning. A person from the bowling club asked several weeks ago if Ken would organise his wake. He passed away last night , and of course Ken is away so I have been busy on the phone and Email today. We do have all the food ordered and everything in place (the funeral is on Monday, before Ken gets back).
Keep getting interrupted with phone calls. must go and pack.

Hi, Everyone! Another long day has come and gone. It's after midnight, and I need to get up at 5:00. I'm sending up a white flag of surrender - for the next few days, I'll get here if I can, but won't drive myself crazy if I can't.

I'm so glad to hear that Mama is doing better each day! Continued prayers for her and her family.

Also thinking of Suzy and her Mum and sending prayers in that direction, as well.

MizT, I hope you will feel better tomorrow.

Heidi, I'm almost glad your work plans for the day were delayed, giving your back more rest.

I hope Viv is getting some relief from her injections.

June, I don't know how you do everything you do.

Huge thanks to Gail and Tami for keeping us alerted to Mama's condition!

CRAFTs has set in, and I am headed to bed! Thinking of all of you and sending much love, , {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, positive thoughts, healing vibes and prayers. Take care of yourselves. I'll see you when I see you.

Missing Theresa.

I was reminded today that it is 32 years tomorrow since my father died, I don't think it would be very nice for them to share that anniversary

Hi everyone - finally have the time and a decent enough connection to come to SA. I've mainly been going to FB for a few minutes and giving up. Having a great time - one week to go!

Suzy - just because I haven't been here doesn't mean you, your Mum and the rest of your family haven't been on my mind.
I'm glad her pain levels were lower this morning - I wish her comfort and peace as she faces this and I hope you get to spend enough quality loving time with her as you need. Big hugs to all.

Oh - I think I was in eaa's neck of the woods today - the wild NW coast of Tasmania. Saw a place called 'The Edge of the World' - extremely wild, windy and cold, and directly west from there in a straight line, the next landfall is South America!! (Misses South Africa)

CynB... I wish I was with you on your trip. It sounds like the kind of place that I'd love to see. "The Edge Of The World" is a name full of wonder.

June... My hat is off to you, and I salute you!!! Is there NOTHING you can't handle? My new nickname for you is: Wonder Woman!

I slept until nearly noon. My back is really enjoying this rest. It's still feeling a wee bit tender after the epidural, which means that it WAS a good one!
Robert may be able to make it here this afternoon (his car is being repaired this morning... hopefully) and it's supposed to rain tomorrow. I need topick up all the debris that the puppies left on the grass and get the lawn mower started and start getting this place presentable. The farm tour is in just under 2 weeks.

greetings friends, an all afternoon rain is here and may stretch into the night. I had planned to take some clothing to the dome, BIL made me rods to hang them on now. I got a cart filled with jackets and coats, but it started raining. If I can find some stickers in here, I could at least price them, and perhaps made a few signs for prices. I am NOT going to individually price shirts and pants, and most jackets, they will be one price, I just need a sign to hang in that closet.

I did go to sleep in the wee hours, sometimes pain and/or pain medication will keep me awake, last night was one of those nights.

June, you do have a talent for doing so many things, and are always helping someone. I do wish I had your energy. I have so many things i want to do, just not the energy to carry them out.

Heidi, glad the extra rest has been good for the back. I do hope this epidural lasts and lasts.

I will go find my blanket and my book, it is cool and damp with this rain. Hugs to each of you, till later.

Good maEn everyone!
Popping in without readinng. Went driving around Pueblo, nice city...Bus system weird. LOTS of one-way streets. Better service for busses than our in Utah, but the busses are not like most areas, they loop around the town and then loop back. They do run Monday thru Saturday from 6 am to 6 pm. We happen to think more cons than pros for living here.
Love & Hugs to all with extras!!!

Awake again. I've been sleeping excessively. IH just walked in, felt my forehead and said that I have a fever.

Preparing a quick and easy beef lo-mein for supper, I'll feed the puppies and water the birds, then back to sleep.

Just having a break from the show. How come at this age I am plating up horses etc. There must have been well over 1000 horses there today from all around NSW.
Laura went in three events and got one yellow ribbon. Her riding shoes were too small which spoilt her presentation as she had to wear the wrong ones. Not too bad as she has not been on the horse for over 6 months or more,
She did take out a couple of the top prizes in the art and craft section. We think she may have won $50 for best overall. (first prize in any setion is $2)
Cyn I am sure you were in eaa's area.
Hugs to you all. I am on Belinda's computer.

Just a quick call-in from Launceston. It's snowing in the mountains not far from here.
Heidi, the area we've been in for the past few days has a lot of dairy farms and the cattle were so big and beautiful.
June - I contacted eaa and I was in her area and she was home but by the time we decided to go, it was too late and too hit and miss to contact her without a phone number and anyway our mobiles (Optus) were next to useless on the West coast. We decided maybe next time!

Up early, for 2 reasons. One... We're having a thunderstorm, and the dogs are upset, so they glue themselves to me for comfort. And two... I'm still feverish, and stay in a perpetual state of soaking wet with sweat. I suspect I know what's causing it, and it's not good. The fever started 1 1/2 days after the epidural, and the epidural site, while not swollen (yet) is sore and red. I may have gotten an infection in the injection site. Which means that I have to call my GP, or Pain Management doc, in a couple of hours and ask to be put on antibiotics. My GP will be easier to get hold of today, I think.

Oh Heidi, I do hope that you can get that fever treated and get over that fever. any infection is not fun, but one with spinal cord , as you said. is not good. Hugs to you, get well soon.

Rain and more rain yesterday and last night. Joy came down late last night, about 8 pm, we had dinner, and we designed and started making signs to put at the turns from town to our sale. I think it was Bean who asked when is the sale? Week from today and tomorrow, March 30, 31.

My phone is out, noticed yesterday afternoon, soon after the big rain. I called and reprted, they wanted me to go out to the box nd trouble shoot, taking a corded -hone and plugging into the box to see if I got dial tone then. i just was not able, waited for Joy to check it out, but had to go out with her anyway, as I had not made clear which "grey box on the pole beside driveway", she was trying to open the electrical box. No signal, it is phone co problem, not my house wiring. It took Joy forever to get through via phone to a person. They will have someone out by tomorrow 8 pm, for sure. I am so glad i did change cell phones to get one with good reliable signal here.

I think I shall try bed again, just had my no food med, I could nap till I can have coffee.

Hugs to each of you, with a huge basket of extras to Suzy, Mama, Heidi and anyone who needs them.

I was right... my Pain Management doc is incommunicado today. I've left a message with the RN at my GP's place, and it looks like she'll be phoning in a 'scrip for an antibiotic. I'm just waiting to hear back from them that it's for sure.

I ordered some chicks at the local farm store, and just got a call that they've arrived. I didn't order many, just 15 cornish (darks, buffs and white laced reds... for show and breeding) and 10 cornish/rock crosses for the freezer. I'll pick them up when I go to the pharmacy.

The chicks are settling in nicely, and I've started on the antibiotics. My doc told me that if I get any worse, I'm to go to the ER. Don't want to fool with a possible spinal infection.

Heidi, so glad you have the antibiotics now. also glad to hear the instruction about ER if it gets worse. Al's brother who was her today gets epidurals for his back, and said his instructions has always been "Any redness at injection site, go straight to ER." Take care of yourself, as you said, no messing around with a spinal infection. Hugs, and get well soon.

Congrats on the new chicks. Are they old enough to go to the pen you have outside already>

Hi all. Finally home and done. Did the food shopping and now I can relax. My days are going to get crazier. Starting next week I will stay after school for an hour a day (M-Th) to open the computer lab. I do get overtime so that will help.

Heidi, the chicks sound cute. Please rest and take care of your back. We don't need you to get worse.

Tricia,I love garage sales and would come to help you if I was a little closer. A 12 hour drive does not appeal to me right now.

This is so annoying. The temperature outside is 73℉ / 22.5℃, I have windows open, I'm lightly dressed, and I'm dripping wet with sweat. Hmmmmm.... maybe I'll sweat off some weight?
