Hold tight to memories for comfort.

Lean on your friends for strength, and always remember how much you are cared about.

As you comprehend this profound loss, let yourself cry knowing each tear is a note of love rising to the heavens.

Greetings, Everyone! Looks like I missed a day or two here. It's been so busy, I'm not sure when I last visited. My apologies to those who hope to see a condensed version of comments. Hopefully early next week, things will calm down.

Suzy, sending lots of {{{HUGS}}} and positive thoughts to your Mum, you and family! You are in our thoughts and wish we could be with you in the next days!

Thinking of all my cyber friends here on SA. Sure wish we all lived a lot closer and could be where we want to be and offer the support that is in our hearts!

Suzy, I just wanted to tell you I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. She sounds like an amazing woman who will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. She is now free from pain and I'm glad for her sake that she went quickly and did not linger in pain for months.
I wish we could be there with you but please know that you and your family are in our hearts and thoughts. RIP Carol.

Gail: How well said (TOPP) Thanks for letting me vent!! Here we go!!!!
Let's put it this way (about Pueblo). Darrell was looking forward to everything about seeing the area. I was looking forward to a better bus system (than what is non-existent here). He & I went to the area where he was accepted for a job, but he found out the job was not what he was hoping for. The training was about 5 years BEHIND what he has done for the last 7 years. The bus system goes in a loop (rather than most metropolitan areas--north/south or east/west. SO if I was going to go back to retail or part time work, I could NOT work more than 4-6 hours a shift. As Tami knows, you NEED to work a night or a weekend shift (or two...). It would work for me Monday-Saturday. SO, Darrell declined the job. We went to the Depot where he was going to apply, met with the training officer and that is when all the issues with this particular facility came to light. We decided there were WAY more CONS than PROS...Glad we figured this out BEFORE we moved!!!!!
Thanks again for letting me vent!! I feel better.
Love you ALL, always!!!

Hi folks.
Suzy your mum sounds like a woman after my own heart... don't think the police where ever called in for any of my pranks tho.

I'm anxious about Mama.. aren't we all... thank you Tamni for keeping us in the loop.

Cyn this is as purple as I've got... Interestingly i had a similar convo with a friend the other day.. when his wife moved out their son [who was a well managed 19/20yo] had another seizure. Hadn't had one for ages. He was/is very distressed by the absence of his mum in his life. Interesting the effects of extremes of emotions

A very emotional day. Although I was not close to the person it was a full Mass of Christian Burial and I kept thinking of Sharon and Suzy's Mum. The Priest was also one of our Bowlers from the club. The family had overestimated the numbers so we had plenty of food left over.

Suzy when you are ready we look forward to hearing from you.

Ken gets back from India tomorrow night. He has bought me a new camera as mine was being a bit temperamental. I forgot to ask him to buy a post card. Sorry Tami as I do not think there was one from there in the package.

Thanks for all the purple avatars - I meant to change mine this morning. It's done now.
Another great day - pancakes for brunch at Elephant Pass, followed by Bicheno (to my mind it's Tassie's Noosa - overly expensive and over-rated)- pretty beaches though and a blowhole. Then to Freycinet National Park where Col took a flight over it - no, I did not go, not in a light plane! Then to a lookout overlooking Wineglass Bay. All in all a nice day. Sick of eating out and rich foods, we have a microwave in the cabin so bought frozen dinners for tonight - how bogan!
Heard from Saylz, seeing him and Janet on Wednesday.

It's been an emotional day for me today too. When someone else loses a loved one, it brings your own loss back to the surface. So as well as keeping Suzy and her family in my mind, I thought a lot about my Mum today especially when I got out the only purple top I had to wear today and it was one we bought for Mum not long before she passed that she never wore but it has her ID laundry tag in it still from the home.
Love and big hugs to all who are remembering loved ones today - Suzy, June, Rolanda, Tricia, Gail, Bean, Judy - oh, all of you really!

Fortunately, I DO have a lot of purple clothes.... including several pairs of loose, flow-y purple batik pants. I'll have to get dressed now anyway, because IH didn't pay the power bill and they cut off our power in 1 hour. It's a 40 minute drive each way to go in and pay it in person. Of course, HE has to go to the plant instead of doing this. I have to have the power on because of the birds. I have some delicate finches, some on eggs, that can't get too chilled. We WOULD have to go back to more seasonable temperatures as of yesterday.

CynB, I think frozen dinners is a good solution to eating out so many times. My sister was in Hawaii, the Big Island, for 3 weeks. they had a kitchen in thier isolated cabin, they did the same thing for about half their meals.

Frozen dinners can be lifesavers if you're really too tired to cook, and need to serve a nutritious meal. Or, in my case, they kept me alive as a child. My mother is the world's worst cook (ask anybody who's tasted her cooking) and my brother and I stayed alive on frozen dinners as kids.

Give saylz a hug for me, CynB. He and I have a lot of interests in common.... he breeds and races Standardbred horses (The only horse IH ever owned was a Standardbred closely related to some of saylz's horses) and is a dog breeder/fancier/dog show judge.

Morning friends, up early today cause I sent to sleep in my chair early, was to bed early, slept good again!

I have many shades of purple shirts, one of my colors. I wear colors on the blue side of the color wheel, and mostly shun the yellow side.

did I tell you what my BIL brought to me the other day? cutest colorful watering can with silk flowers in it, a very spring looking boquet. On closet exam, the "stems" of the dozen flowers are a good writing stick ball point pen! He heard me say I could never find a pen when I needed one, and challenged me to loose those hehehe. He made this. Just attached flowers to the ball point pen, filled the watering can with glass marbles, stood the pens in the marbles, and there you are. With the flower top, they should not be able to hide from me.

Waiting waiting, for my coffee, keeping stomach empty for the med.

Heidi, once again Gil supplies the drama for the day. I am not sure how you put up with all his incompetency. It seems he floats along without a care ofor mundane things, cause he knows you will take care of it for him. He knows you needd the electricity more than he does, he could go without electricity longer and probably would, just waiting you out.

Evening all,
It has been a tough day here today. We were shocked to discover that the things you think will be the hardest are not. Arranging the funeral details was okay until they asked us to pick the phrase to go at the end of the newspaper announcements... It's the little things that hurt the most. I had a visit this morning from a person who found out from facebook. Everyone knows who we are because they know everyone here and they know we have strange cars. That is super weird, they notice that a strange car is parked in mum's driveway!? They knew I'd stayed at the hospital when my car wasn't here! Big O mouth here!!! I thought I lived in a small town but it is nothing on this place....

This morning I went to buy petrol and the lady behind the counter knew who I was - we'd never met. When I was paying for my petrol I said I hoped I would remember my PIN as it had been a tough few weeks. She said I know, teared up, and told me how much my mother had helped her son who has anxiety problems. Of course I lost it. That is happening over and over here. People keep asking why we haven't moved the funeral to our home town where mum lived for over 30 years and that is why. This is the place where they truly appreciated her for who she is.

I feel so selfish talking over and over about my mum when I know that many of you have been through the same and worse, but it really helps so I hope you don't mind.

I read the recent updates about Mamacita with sadness and hope. I hope she knows that we are all thinking about her and wishing her the best and I hope she is back here soon! Thank you Tami for keeping us up to date.

A hard thing today. I had a call from a lady who was obviously elderly. She didn't tell me her name but was not coping so I didn't ask. Her support person, sister/friend is in Melbourne and she wanted to know the details of the funeral to tell her. I keep wishing I knew her name so I could visit her and check on her.

Yes, June's words are wise, go with the flow, emotion is going to overwhelm you at the oddest of times and places, mine were in the shower and hanging out the washing. That is when I w3as alone and able to commune with Mum, tell her how much I missed her. Let it out now, it really helps.

MizT.... IH does NOT need any utilities here. He has electricity, phone and water in both his lab and office, and doesn't think the house is his responsibility. I told him that I'll accept that if he signs a statement to that effect. He won't. So we fight. The thing is, he never lets me see the bills, so I don't know when they're due. He likes to be the first one to get the mail, and he hides all the bills in his office. Does anyone but me think he's hiding something? The thing is, I don't care if he is hiding something any more.
