Come on Mama, we're all on your side and doing all we can to help with your breathing.

Have I ever mentioned how much I hate blackberries? Not the fruit but the wild brambles that overrun your garden. Clearing out an overgrown bed...maintainace has not been very high on our agenda for a couple of years!

Something to make everyone laugh, I hope. After dinner, Dylan asked his brother what sperm is. Mitchell told him to ask dad and to ask him for "the talk." Hubby was upstairs and got ambushed on when he came down. The look on hubby's face was priceless. I told him to get upstairs and start talking. I had to give Mitchell "the talk" as him and dad got too silly. I just hope Dylan doesn't ask me if we "still do it" like his older brother did

I reckon an extra half an hour breathing without assistance is a big step! That woman has the will to live and we need her back in our fold.
Card sent to Mama, two postacards for your little school beasties Tami, signed them from Bella and me with a paw print hehe!
Judy what are you, Dag and the dagettes seeing?
Suzanne, when I was really young used to try and stay awake to hear them 'doing it' never did though.

Not me!!

I used to hear my parents doing 'it' all the time. Hated it too.

Tami, I took my youngest brother to the school night thing where they talked about all that stuff (mum had to work). Luckily he waited until mum got home to ask his question - I understand about the sperm and the egg and all that, I want to know what makes the sperm come out! She apparently said the man and the lady jiggy around for a while and it comes out.

I have sent Ouima's daughter a message to find out where to send some flowers so when I hear from her it is my turn to organise the flowers. I thought they might cheer her up. There is one on the interflora page for US called a 'basket of cheer' or something like that.

Greetings, Fellow Sudokuaholics!

Thanks, again, Tami, for your updates on Mama and asking Michella for an address for us to send cards!

June, thank you for passing the address along to those for whom you had e-mail addresses!

Heidi and MizT, the "lazy man's concrete" sounds like a fantastic invention. Mixing concrete is back-breaking work. How nice to be able to pour in dry powder, then pour in the water and be done! Heidi, you and Robert are getting a LOT done! We should have realized that you wouldn't be able to sit and rest your back knowing that the people would be touring. I'm SO glad to hear that the dizziness and fever seem to be gone!

MizT, I hope the sale goes fantastically tomorrow and Saturday! It seems like you have things well-planned and in control!

Such wonderful news that Mama is able to go without the ventilator a bit more each day! Way to go, Mama! We're proud of your determination and progress!

Judy, sounds like you're getting a lot done! Enjoy the dinner and concert with Gail and Mr. Gail!

Gail, enjoy dinner and the concert! I understand your feeling about blackberries! My Mom used to make blackberry jelly and blackberry pies. We kids had to help with the picking. We hated the thorns, but once you're in among them and already scratched, you might as well eat your fill when you pick!

Tami, wish I'd been a fly on the wall to see and hear "the talk."

Cyn, we're glad you returned home safely! Travel and visiting is fun, but there's nothing quite like being home in your own bed! (Hubby said the same thing today.)

June, how wonderful of you to think of flowers for Mama! I agree with Suzy, though! I hope it will be the last time for quite a while!

I really need to get to bed. The alarm is set for 6 a.m., as I have a 7:15 appointment for donating platelets and red blood cells in the morning. Good Night and Pleasant Dreams!

, prayers, positive thoughts, healing vibes and {{{{{HUGS}}}}} for Everyone!

Julie, here at least, lazy man concrete was not that easy. Al would take a stick and poke at the concrete in the home. Was that necessary? I haven't a clue, but poke around at it, water level in the hole would drop and i would add more, bubbles would come up, I think he had fun with the "big boys mud pies" eheheh.

Oh so good to know Mama is being weaned from the respirator and that she is making progress. I believe she is a fighter, not ready to give in just yet. It is also good that she can have a break from the hard work of breathing at the moment, and let the machine take over. That saves some energy for other healing she might need now. Ya know, at our age, only so much energy in a given amount of time. body has to have priorities. breathing is an important one.

Big Vent, you can pass on by, just typing it I hope will help. tonight I need a good night's sleep to prepare for a long day tomorrow. could not buy even a nap with a sack full of gold, wide awake, None of my night time medicine is working. part of the reason is I never got to rest today , one thing or person and another made it impossible. So I kept clenching my teeth and pushing and now cannot stop. how I hate when that happens.

when people come to help you, by necessity they must come when it fits into their lives, and unfortunately today it did not fit into mine. BIL Roger is here, friend Betty came up, twice, and Joy and a friend came late and stayed later. Perhaps I need a hot toddy tonight. something to unclench this jaw and begin the relax process. Nice warm shower might help too, thaw out tight muscles. OK off to try every thing in my bag of tricks for nights like this. If it does not work might be back later. It feels like there is always someone waiting here for those of us who cannot sleep nights .

Got a nice compliment from Joy and her friend Julie. both were impressed at how neat and organized everything was arranged in the shop. glad all our hard work shows, and must pass that on to the rest of the helpers.

Hugs to all with extras.

Tricia, your brain is working overtime thinking of all you have to do tomorrow and your sale Saturday and that is why you cannot sleep. I know what that is like.
My very best wishes for the sale. I do hope you are able to sell all the things you have and the extra income will be a big help for you.
I wish we could all be there to help.

Went to sleep VERY early last night. I had to be up early because Robert will be here earlier than usual. That's because he has to leave early. Several months ago, the wrestling company he's involved with did a benefit show, with all proceeds going to the hospital care of a young boy with liver failure. Well, a miracle happened, and he's coming home healthy today. Everyone from the wrestling company plans on being at the airport to welcome him home.

Just saw Crosby, Stills and Nash... FANTASTIC!
Sadly, David was ill and couldn't sing but he was on for most of the evening playing guitar. He gave a very croaky heartfelt apology halfway through the first set, but I tell ya, for a bunch of seventy year olds, they absolutely rocked it tonight.

The four of us had a wonderful evening, starting out with dinner at a wine bar across the road from the concert venue. We shared dips, had our mains then a duo of desserts that no one needed, yet everyone wanted :) We ladies had 2 scoops of housemade gourmet icecreams, and the gents had a luscious Cointreau chocolate mousse served with churros...mouth is watering again!
We then walked across the road, went into the theatre and went straight to our excellent seats, thanks to Mr Judy.
As mentioned, David Crosby was not able to sing so the three part harmony was not there, but with the help of the tour band, the backing vocals made up for it, just.
For me, the performance was very emotional to be a part of, but then I am such a big sook I cry at anything! There was a lot of chat and some audience involvement, and some laughs along the way.
I love my life :-D

Mamacita, sending my love to you, I hope you are comfortable, and one day soon, you will be able to come back and talk to us, your words of peace and wisdom are invaluable, but your life has been a whirlwind that hasn't stopped for 4 years, and maybe this is your time to rest. I know that through your wonderful children, you have heard that we are all holding you in our hearts. That will be forever ♥

Suzy, I have been sitting here for ages trying to work out what to say for you...I've erased all of them. I think what I have been trying to say is that so many of us know exactly how you feel right now, and I want to assure you that tomorrow (actually later today) will go well, and swiftly. I feel she will be honoured beautifully.

One day in the future, you will be ok, it might take a while and there will be hiccups along the way, but the raw emotion you feel right now will subside.

Bring on the love
RIP Carol

Gail, according to her daughter, Mama does not know how to rest. They had two facilities to choose from. Both handle long term care of a ventilator. One of them had a more aggressive approach and that is the one they choose. Mama has an aggressive approach to life and does not sit and wait.

It sounds like Mama is enough of a fighter to beat this.

The fence in front is up. I am exhausted. I'm taking an extended break before doing an unpleasant chore. IH spotted a dead calf in the pasture. I need to remove it and bury it.

Robert got to leave with plenty of time to go home, shower, change and make it to the airport well before the boy arrives. Robert told me today that they were able to get a liver donation for this 8 year old child, so he has a new lease on life.

Morning all,
Heidi, when I read about the benefit the thought that came into my mind was 'and Heidi gave a sizeable donation I'm sure!'. I'm so glad for the little boy. And I'm glad he gets to be a rock star for a day. Sorry about the calf.

Gail, I'm glad your evening was fantastic. We should have lots of those! My kids have never had the latest playstations/Xboxes etc. We decided money was better spent on doing than having. They have lots of experiences and memories instead.

Mamacita, if you get a chance to read this, you fight girl and feel us all behind you pushing you along! We'll switch to wide cyber arms when needed.

Awesome experience last night. A big group of us went to have dinner at the pub. (There aren't a lot of choices for dinner here!) There were a few people I didn't even know knew mum. We went to pay our share at the end of the night and the bill had already been paid! There were at least 15 of us!!! Turned out the guy who paid used to eat with neighbour and mum fairly often. He'd asked many times for a painting but she ran out of time. I found 3 hiding behind her blank canvases yesterday so we ran home and picked them up and got him to choose one as a thank you.

Mum left me her computer because she knew our desk top had died. I talked to Don last night and we are giving it to neighbour - all set up for him. His is on the way out and everyone wants him to venture into the internet so we can keep in touch easily. My brother is going to buy him a prepaid internet dongle as a thank you. Looking good so far!

One of our challenges for today is to keep my aunt out of this house. My mother would have hated to know she had been in here!!

A new video of her has surfaced. That makes 3!! This one was made by the school kids and it's about a day in her life. I can't get it to work yet, but I'm told that's a good thing. Others have watched it and they say it is beautiful - but not now...

Apparently I'm spooking them all because I look so much like her.

No, I didn't make a donation, Suzy. I didn't know about it.

Gail... I wish I'd been there. I love Crosby, Stills and Nash. I graduated from the same High School in Costa Rica that Steven Stills did. He was obsessed with music even back then. He's walk through the school corridors with his guitar, between classes, playing and singing. His favorite song then was "Puff The Magic Dragon". After that, it became the unofficial School Song.

It sounds like your aunt is not interested in honoring your Mum's wishes, Suzy, if she's trying to go somewhere where she was not welcome. Good luck with that mission.

Suzy, the more you talk about your mum the more the love for her from the small community shines out. She must have been a very special person to make all those people love her in the few years she lived there. As, I think Gail said, small communities usually take a long time to accept new comers. Hope everything goes well today.

It's incredible Brenda. I've lost count of the number of people who have said things like 'she brought the town to life', 'she will be missed', 'she has helped more people than you will ever know'. Honestly I don't know how she had time to do it all!!

Heidi you would have donated if you'd known.

Suzy, you had a Mum who made a difference and one to be proud of. We will think of you all today. I am sure it will be a sad but uplifting service.
Heard from Mama's daughter and probably no flowers because of the ventilator. As I do not suffer from breathing problems, hay fever etc it was not something I thought about.
Have a good sleep Tricia so that you can cope with a long day tomorrow. Here's to a very successful sale. (best I could do!)
