Heidi, I love the Liriodendron trees. Mum had one in her garden, although it was not really the right climate. There are some beautiful ones growing in Ballarat Victoria. Another favourite is the dogwood. I tried to grow one. i did get a few flowers but the climate here is a bit too humid for them.
I spent some time tonight updating the family tree on the computer. Now I am too awake to get to sleep.

Robert just called. For some reason, he seems surprised at how much he's hurting today. You'd think that he's had enough accidents to remember that you hurt a LOT more the day after the accident. That last one, when he was airlifted out, was only about 6 months ago.

He got mad at his sister last night. She kept trying to tell the paramedics and ER doctors that he has epilepsy. He didn't want to tell them, since he hasn't had a seizure in 6 years.

Heidi, I am glad Robert's sister told the doctors about the epilepsy. He may not have had a seizure in 6 years, but they need to make sure they don't do anything to cause another one.

Robert's sister did NOT tell anyone about the epilepsy. I thought it was a foolish thing to do, but Robert had suffered severe discrimination in the past over the epilepsy, and prefers to hide it. I think the doctors need to know everything, especially about prescription medications he's on. But it's his life. He just works for me.

Oh, no, Theresa! I grew up loving "The Band". My favorite songs of theirs were "Across The Great Divide" and "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down".

How could I forget "Up On Cripple Creek"? Levon Helm's drumming was some of the best on the planet.

Dylan's baseball team made the local paper. A reporter was at the game the night he fractured his hand. Here is a link.

Morning friends.
June I chuckled when I read your comment.. burning off garden refuse or using incinerators are banned in most municipal areas in Melbourne as well... people just ignore the regs. We used to have a large incinerator in the back yard.. it was more like a huge fireplace.. could have been a handy part of an outside living area..too late now.. is part of the vege garden.

I see your boy was mentioned :
"With the bases loaded and two outs, second baseman Jordan Barbieri lined a pitch to right field to drive in two runs, making it 9-2 in favor of the Angels. Dylan started the rally with a single and he subsequently hustled to third on a throwing error."

Oh Tricia.. people are so thoughtless... they really do NOT get it.
Woke up this morning with the bridge of my nose none existent.. is now a red and ugly continuation of my brow...yep.. a zit of mega proportions.. the temptation to lance it to relive the pressure is almost unendurable..

Morning all,
Theresa I loved the flash mob!

Tami, it took me forever to get the story to come up but I'm glad I persisted... What a great coach! I hope future coaches are as insightful <3 How wonderful that Dylan was mentioned!!

!! Went to Salt Lake today. There is a new outdoor-style mall that we want to check out, however, weather did not cooperate. Will go when its warmer here. We had errands to run at PetSmart, Target, I had to go to beauty supply store. Had a nice day, just sitting here relaxing.
I heard from my sister Melanie, sent her an e-mail two weeks ago. She's doing fine.
Looking forward to Washington trip on Saturday. We will have internet at the hotel, not sure if I am bringing my laptop.

Hi, Everyone! Just getting here for a quick read.

June, I'm glad you are feeling better after a good sleep! Wow, you even have meals in the freezer ready to be heated when you're away! Is there anything you don't or can't do?

Hoping Robert and his friend are recovering well!

Theresa, thank you for sharing that youtube! What an amazing thing to see in Russia! The participants totally seemed to be exuberant and truly enjoying themselves! Your analysis was right on! The Russian flash mob was great!

Heidi the flowering of your trees and plants are just more indication of your influence on the living things around you, just as your animals are! You are so nurturing, considerate and helpful. I can't fathom why IH would want to irritate you.

MIzT, I guess they are just trying to be considerate and not realizing that one more text is further impacting your sleep.

June, good for you for keeping your family tree up-to-date!

Heidi, a friend also met with discrimination due to her epilepsy. Though her medication seems to control it well, she has never had a driver's license and really needs to outperform others when it comes to a job. I agree it's important for doctors to know Robert's medications and conditions, but understand where he's coming from.

Tami, thanks for sharing the newspaper article about Dylan's team. It seems that their coaches and manager have the right approach to the game. It's nice that Dylan was mentioned, but too bad that his hit was also his demise. I hope his hand isn't bothering him too much!

Rolanda, I hope S's GF's appointment with the surgeon goes well! Enjoy the visit with her mother!

Bean, I hope the shopping went well! Some days just seem to work much better than others when shopping and errands are involved.

RIP to Dick Clark, Levon Helm and Jonathan Frid.

Thinking of all of you and sending healing vibes, positive thoughts, prayers, and {{{{{HUGS}}}}} for each of you, whether I mentioned you or not!

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.

The reason Dylan was mentioned in the article is that I am the team score keeper and the reporter came to me for all the names. I told him he better mention my kid. Also, my husband plays softball with a friend of the reporter's so the connection helped

Morning all. Cool day of 9C here today.

Julie, thanks for asking about my health. My shoulders are still sore at certain times, but not as bad generally as before. Right now I am just having a great deal of trouble getting my blood sugars under control. I really need to lose the poundage that I gained when I quit smoking (almost 9 months now). D is doing very well. Her limp is barely visible. She is down to her goal weight and looks like she did when she was in high school. I am so proud of her.

You should be proud of her, Theresa. That is quite an accomplishment. She stuck to the PT to get back to walking well, and stuck to her diet.
I just wish that it wasn't so hard to lose the weight you gain after you quit smoking.

I checked my cherry and apple trees to see if they've set a lot of fruit. I'm disappointed with the cherries. Very few have set, but they're young trees. I have 2 varieties that are supposed to be good cross pollinators: Queen Anne and Black Tartarian. The first is a golden sweet cherry and the second is like a Bing, but a little darker. Then I checked my 2 apple trees. They're loaded! One is a Winesap, and the other is an Arkansas Black. They're my 2 favorite apples. I would like to try to add a Pink Lady someday. It's a very sweet apple. And yes, it is pink.

Good Morning friends. I would like to report a theft. someone stole our sunshine! None at all this week and none now forecast tilo middle of next week! I do not like gray cloudy days. One good thing, the temps are mild, no heat needed nights cause the clouds hold in the heat, no AC needed daytime cause the sun does not heat up temps.

Theresa, good to hear the shoulder is better. Good luck with getting your blood sugars under control. I am also proud of your daughter loosing to her goal weight, way to go!!

TAMI, enjoy your housewares party tonight. I remember when I was young, Tupperware parties were the thing. I went to and hosted more than my share of those.

Julie, the meals to be heated while June was away, seems my hubby was of the same school. that is what he expected, also, and what i did. I had 2 weeks of meals prepared and frozen before i went in for my thumb surgery. Al could cook, but he would not have, would have lived on sandwiches or takeout.

BEAN has priorities right, go shopping when the dogs (or cats) need food hehehe.

I need to make a plan for the day. somehow i did not accomplish much yesterday, time just slipped away. perhaps if I make a list today I can accomplish something.

Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Suzanne, I could use a weekend away ... take me with you! BTW, after your "something inspiring" comment, I'm wondering if you and TTT were related in a previous lifetime????

MizT, someone stole our sunshine as well!!!! I had the heat on this morning just to take the chill out of the air.

Is Tupperware still being sold? There are so many cheaper containers sold at the Dollar Store that I doubt people are willing to pay the price any more. Tupperware certainly lasted a long time.

We don't seem to have Tupperware parties here. More Pampered Chef and candles (cannot think of the company name) both extremely expensive so I'm pleased not too many of my friends do them any more.
One friend started selling Body Shop goods, unfortunately you could buy it cheaper on-line which wasn't good for her and very bad of the company for not giving their agents discounts too.

It's looking bad for my friend with cancer. She's in the hospital now, and they're giving her painkillers every 10 minutes. She just called me and said that she wants to see her daughter. So I called her daughter and let her know. She's heading to the hospital as fast as she can.
