I have been fixing some drawers and scrubbing down doors and walls this morning. I have given the gardening a miss so far but hope to do some painting later. Belinda and Laura have spent the morning riding horses. Belinda is training a couple of young horses for dressage. By the way the foal has just been weaned from it's mother and has no ill effects from all the infection when it was very young.

June, the privet is an import here also, has no natural enemies here. It is native to China, at least the one that is rampant here in the southeast.

Joy and I enjoyed dinner together and a sit out on the back deck. she does not have a date for closing yet, may be end of May now. Everything is moving at a snails pace. she does not seem bothered by it though.

I am waiting for meds to work, then it is bed for me. nite Tami, sweet dreams. Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Hi, Friends! I'm just getting here today and haven't read for 2 days. I hope all are well!

Thoughts for all those who vented a couple of days ago - and all with good cause. There are far too many inconsiderate people! (Why can't they all be lovely like us?) I hope your day improved and today continues to show improvement!

Vicki, hurray for being able to make all of the decisions for lighting! It can be challenging.

Gail, I hope the car problems were nothing more than a "hiccup" and certainly not fatal! It would have been such fun to spend your time in the car with the top down and enjoying the weather! I hope everything else about your birthday was spectacular!

Heidi, I'm sorry Mama Canary gave up on her unhatchable eggs. Maybe next time? There must be some trick that no one is sharing if they're supposedly so easy to raise.

Tami, I love how you can play tricks on your beasties! I'm glad you were able to have a car picnic at the beach. Sometimes you just have to get out of the house!

MizT, good for the judge. More people need to take a stand to teach respect for others and the courts.

Tami, great TOPP on page 396 from John Lennon, a VERY talented writer and composer.

Broni, thanks for posting all of the lyrics!

June, another busy day at Belinda's. I hope you were able to get what you needed at the hardware store!

Bean, how aggravating that you lost a long post, especially when your time is limited!

Hi, Nola! At least Greg thought to bring home something to eat. It's not something that occurs at our house usually. In fact, I can't remember the last time. Ah, there are so many worse problems.

Tami, I hope your Beasties and your students do well on the state tests!

Theresa, I'm sorry you woke up from a nice dream! Think about it when you go to bed tonight. Maybe you can pick up where you left off.

Tami, thank you for sharing Michella's message.

Mama, we're thinking positive thoughts and healing vibes for you! We miss you and look forward to your cheery and well-stated thoughts! Take care! {{{HUGS}}}

Heidi, wouldn't it be amazing if IH actually got the trailer repaired!

June so sorry you need to deal with "privet trees" at Belinda's. It's amazing how some things will grow when left to their own devices. Asthma and hay fever are a high price to pay for what little the privet hedges provide.

June, thank you for the update on the foal. I meant to ask in my last post. Will Belinda ride the horses, or is she training them in dressage for someone else? The riders also need to be trained.

MizT, I'm glad the slow pace preparing for closing isn't bothering Joy. Some people would become so aggravated.

Sweet dreams to all those who are already slumbering or who soon will be heading to bed.

Lots of positive thoughts, healing vibes, prayers, and {{{{{HUGS}}}}} for all of you!

Good Night!

Did some more gardening and then got out the blower. A LOT of dust and dirt. No painting done as I am a bit stiff and sore.
Belinda is a full time high school taecher, travels about 50k each way to school and is a bit like Heidi with all the animals. She lives by herself so lots of household and yard jobs do not get done. She is spending most of the school holidays making 35 outfits for the Rock Eistetfford (a school 8 minute dance routine in competition with other schools)so that is why I am here doing some jobs.
She will be riding the horses herself in the dressage tests. Says she will sell the horses when she first gets them but she never does.

Hi everyone.
Not exactly the way I wanted to spend our post birthdays day. Today was going to be our first day with no kids at home as it has been holidays here for the last two weeks, and even though Hannah went to school on her birthday (Monday), we still had Chloe home most of the day. No big deal, we spent the day burning off those huge piles that raking produces *note to self, must stop raking!*, and we were going to finish it today. No such luck...
Hannah woke me up at 3am this morning with stomach pains of unknown origin. This is not the first time, it happened a few weeks back, but now we will definitely have to chart the dates to see if there is any cycle to it. Last time it subsided about twenty minutes after giving her an anti-inflammatory, but this time it vcontinued, so at 4am ahe and I got into the car and headed for the emergency dept. I told her not to stress if it stopped before we got there, better to be safe than sorry. My only real concern was that hubby was hooked up to the machine and I really don't like leaving him at home alone, but all was well there.
Of course it did abate by the time we got to the ED, but they still took blood and sample for testing just in case. There was no pain on palpation, and all tests were clear (her BP was perfect!)
All we can do is keep a record and have her checked with our GP for follow-up. Best guesses are it could be to do with the middle of her cycle, gall-related or a rumbling appendix. Here's hoping it is nothing...
btw we got home at about 7am, she went straight back to bed and didn't go to TAFE of course, hubby came off the machine and I went to bed after and got up about 1pm!. Have looked in on Hannah and she is fine. Burning off will have to wait a bit longer.

Hi folks.
Have had a tiring day.. attended a business workshop in the city. Tired from brain drain and all the walking involved with using public transport. Will probably end up in bed without catching up on everything.

The post I lost the other day was a very excited one about the logies. A friend of mine had 4 nominations for his ABC series.. Didn't watch all of the categories and only swapped over once Waking the Dead had finished. Love a good drama ..

Flipped channels just in time to see Melissa George win and then cheered out loud when 'The Slap' won a logie for for Most Outstanding Series. Well done Matchbox!

None of our dogs are that heavy, Indi is 14.4Kg Callie is 9kg. Having all three wouldn't combine to the weight of either Bella or Harvey, but they would take up an awful amount of room.

Morning friends, cat and I are not in agreement this morning. I was up early, took my empty stomach med, and retired to the recliner where I promptly went to sleep. Cat came running from other end of house, jumped up and landed right in the middle of me! rude awakening hehehe. After another short nap, I come to computer and she kedpt jumping on the desk, Not continuing to the computer tower, her usual place, but stopping right on the keyboard. silly kitty, not sure what her problem is today, she is just a needy cat today.

Heidi, did you ever get any rain? A lot that was headed our way yesterday just split up and went around us, NO thunderstorms, we were fortunate.

Brenda, boy Pip is growing fast! what is his expected weight when grown? Trainin a pup to his lead can be challenging, hope Pip the Pup takes to it easily.

Broni, hope the eyes are rested and ready to go back again for more computer work. I do not think I could sit at puter that long at a time.

I was talking to Joy about her back yard, just a grassy area and a huge fence. I know she is not a gardener, but was asking her about putting in a couple of small beds in the far corners, something low maintence and cheap, to soften the rectilinear lines a bit. I have some iris and day lilies we can did, some given me by a dear friend from chicage, just the old orange daylilies, but they continue to bloom earlier 9when it is cooler) than the same type that are Alabama grown. Having both of them does continue the blooming season longer and they are hardy, cannot really kill them. I also have some Stella de Orr re-blooming yellow ones. Find something a bit taller for behind, I have seed of Cleomies, they bloom all summer, reseed, and it is easy to harvest seed for next year. Only thing they need is water if we have a dry spell, and I promised to phone her when they needed watering hehehe. we will see. she is young and can dig in the dirt, also has a couple male friends who are excited about her getting a house and promise to help with projects, might have some help to dig.

If it is already June when she moves in, will be late in the season here, hot, not the best time to start a garden. they do better started in spring and fall. but it is fun to think about.

It is good to hear from Mama again, good the weaning from ventilator is progressing. I will get more stamps today, and send off another card. I know I felt so isolated when in hospital no longer than I was there. Maybe our cards provide a bright spot for her.

Now, why did I not remember Joy's offer of stamps from a few weeks ago? she bought some, thinking she had a $10 book of stamps, at Sam's discount club. turns out it was a packet of THREE $10 books of stamps, and she told me not to buy stamps, she would bring me some.

Gail, I am sure you were torn about where you needed to be most overnight. One caregiver, two patients. I am glad it turned out OK. I hope you do find out what is causing Hannah the stomach p

OH DEAR, I did not realize i was running off at the fingers that much! Let me see if I can find and paste in the remainder of that rambling post.

Gail, I am sure you were torn about where you needed to be most overnight. One caregiver, two patients. I am glad it turned out OK. I hope you do find out what is causing Hannah the stomach pains, and it is easily fixed.

BEAN, sorry the day was so very tiring for you. I can understand the problem with walking and you with ankle and foot problems, not a good mix. What pray tell is a logie? I am assuming it is something one would want to win??? And did your friend win? I kind of got lost, could not make out if that was your friend who won.

OK, coffee finished, pain meds have kicked in, leaving me dizzy, Perhaps breakfast would help. I half way planned to go to the senior center today, see what they were doing there. It has been over a year since I dropped in. I will not try driving until the dizzies are gone.

Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Heidi, I've been wondering about your barn owl box - is it inhabited?

I have been watching hummingbirds on USTREAM. Yesterday a hawk attacked the nest and the nest and babies are gone. The mom is in the process of starting another nest. This was her second set of babies so far this year, and she'll have one more I believe.

Good morning everyone! I'm very early today. I've been awake since about 3am with indigestion and it has finally settled down. Unfortunately the alarm is due to go off at 6 and I thought I'd feel worse if I went back to sleep for an hour. I can see an early night tonight.

Hubby went to the specialist yesterday and as predicted he has been given the all clear to return to work. Guess where he is going today? I've washed the work shirts as they have been hanging in the wardrobe for 10 months. He starts holidays next week so he is only working for a couple of days.

We went looking for taps yesterday. We think we've found something suitable but still need to hunt around for the right shower head. We also ordered the glass shower screen so I feel like we are getting on top of it all.

Robert and I set the last 15 posts on the west side of the pasture. The next step will be to put up the woven wire. Then we only have the longest side left... the east side along the driveway.

Now to feed and water the chickens. While in town getting the concrete, I also picked up some scratch grains and some chick starter/grower.

Anything by Mel Brooks is a scream, Tami. Especially when he gets the casting perfect. The Producers is one of my favorites. So are Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein.
Hmmmmm... I just realized that all three have Gene Wilder in them, but I've never thought of him as one of my favorite actors.

I love Mel Brooks movies too, Heidi amd Tami - I think he's a comic genius. I also love Silent Movie.
Gail - what Hannah has sounds like what Karin had in her last year at High School and it was rumbling appendix and eventually had to be removed later that year.

Good afternoon everybody.

Tricia the logie is Australian TV's equivalent of the Oscars and yes.. they got the logie for The Most Outstanding Series. It can be watched over there. Search for 'THE SLAP' on facebook and you will found out more details about it. Seriously considered joining Michaels production team in its infancy over 20+ years ago...

Greeting, Sudoku Friends! My comments will be brief tonight. I am "enjoying" a huge headache/neck ache accompanied by nausea. I would say it's a migraine, but it improved a bit when I had a few saltine crackers around dinner time.

June, I think Belinda may be like you with the extra effort she puts into the things she does. (Certainly not a teacher who walks in a few minutes before her students and nearly runs over them trying to leave school quickly at the end of the day.) She seems to be very involved with her teaching and the Rock Eistetfford every year, which seems to require a lot of extra time and effort, including the costumes. Training the horses in dressage is also no small effort. All she needs is more time. She is very fortunate to have you near enough to help out! (I hope I've been able to express my thoughts clearly.) What an amazing family!

Gail, when it rains, it pours for your family. I imagine you felt quite pulled when you had to leave hubby hooked up to the machine while you took Hannah to emergency. It must be scary for her. Luckily the pain subsides after a bit of time. I hope the data you collect will be helpful to doctors as they determine what is causing her pain. I'm glad you proceeded to emergency, even though she started feeling better, as it's something that needs to be addressed. Good luck to Hannah and to you! (I'm sure you'll find another day when you can do the burning.)

Bean, you must be exhausted after a long day and all of the walking! I hope your foot/ankle isn't worse for the wear! I think congratulations are in order for your friend!

Brenda, Pip is growing quickly. I hope the training proceeds as quickly!

Broni, that much time working at the computer is exhausting. Please give yourself some time to relax!

Theresa, it's so good to see you posting here again. You were missed.

Nola, we are missing you today!

MizT, I hope Joy is enjoying the planning to "soften" her back yard. I hope it will not be too late to do anything by the time she has the closing on her house.

Vicki, it's good to hear that your hubby has progressed enough to get the "all-clear" to return to work - and just in time for a holiday! Will you try to match the shower head to the tap in style? Will the glass door be frosted or have a design of some kind?

Heidi, great news that you and Robert continue to make progress with the fence. It's good to know that your "one-of-a-kind" learned early on not to be physically abusive.

Chalk up another of us who enjoys Mel Brooks and Gene Wilder (whether individually or in collaboration)!

It's just past midnight, so I will say Good Night to all of you. Healing thoughts, positive vibes, prayers, and {{{{{HUGS}}}}} in abundance!

Hannah went to TAFE today, and when I msged her at lunch time, she said she was feeling fine. At least we will always know the date of this last bout happening!
Hubby and I went out and did a gail today, first day with no kids around for ages. When we got back home we raked up the paths and moved some cuttings to start another burn off pile. We will wait for next week now, as our 'upstairs' neighbours are getting married on Saturday at home, I think we should do the righty and not have it a smokey day for them...not that we are invited or anything!

Home again. I was worried about driving home as Sydney has hat torrential rain and many roads were flooded. There was some low water over some roads but listened to traffic reports so used a different route home and arrived with no problems. I do not like driving in heavy rain.
Feeling the effects of a lot of the work I did over the last couple of days so a couple of pain pills and a hot water bottle might be the answer plus an early night as Laura decided she would sleep with me again last night which also meant two small dogs on the bed and a large one on the floor!

Gail, hope Hannah will be OK. I still have my appendix so did not question when Sharon was told her pain was not that. Although the Dr. only went on where she said she felt the pain with no other examination. I know you will monitor your daughter.
