Big hugs and thoughts to Mamacita

Gently hugs to June Good idea waiting until tomorrow. I used to know how to get the icons to move, but I've forgotten, sorry! My gut feel is to drag them...

Big smothering hugs to Broni!!

Tami, how is Dylan's hand feeling?

Heidi, is Robert feeling any better yet?

I hope my internet doesn't drop out again! I was starting to think I had that thingy where I would lose my connection in July, but the link says no.

It looks like Alie may actually be entering something. Of course she chose something that has one winner per state - a song writing competition. At least she is putting herself out there. It has to happen one day if she is going to follow her dreams.

Hello everyone - been reading but not posting in the last few days. My life has been dull.
Who wants to hear that I finally have a new mixer tap in our ensuite vanity after 5 days. The last one blew up and sent water all through the vanity. Lovely - not!!
And I went to my son's Housewarming party last night. It was OK but I'm definitely aging - the music was deafening. It's not that I don't like the music but I couldn't talk to anyone because I couldn't hear. Madeline would sneak over and turn it down but they'd notice and put it back.

Suzy - good luck to Alie. Glad she's giving it a go!
June - hope your aches and pains go away soon.
Mama and Broni - extra big hugs.
Heidi - I hope against hope that your friend and her daughter settle their differences before it's too late.
Tami - I got tired just reading about what goes into having a kosher kitchen.
Tricia - I hope you hear about a place for you soon. Meanwhile I hope you find something to ease your boredom.
Hello to everyone else - I've forgotten what I've read.

My Rant!
Laura's father came for dinner and to pick up Laura after we have had her for over a week. (School holidays). Front door not locked so as always he just walks in (that is OK) and I called out Hello etc but got no answer. He greeted Laura but never once spoke to me. No thanks for dinner and then hubby sticks up for him when I complain!
He has us over a barrel as we want to keep seeing Laura and to give her the female support that she needs.

Suzy, there are so many 'talent' shows etc on at the moment and I am pleased Alie is starting to try out. Even if she does not win I do hope she gets some encouraging comments. She deserves them.
Thank you all for the hugs. I am OK, just some twinges when I walk up steps and a few things like that. Suzy, it was an envelope that had fallen off the dresser because it had too much rubbish on it.
Late night last night so an early one tonight.
(Last night we went to a friends for dinner and she made this wonderful seafood casserole with prawns, crabs, calamari, mussels etc in a wine and some chili in the base. Yum!)

June {hug} I fully understand where you are coming from, and pardon me for saying, but what a pig! What sort of message is he giving Laura by being so rude to you.
...and don't even get me started about hubby!

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.

Suzy, Dylan's hand is fine. About 3 more weeks to next check up and we will go from there. It should come off then.

Cyn, post about your "dull" life. We still want to hear from you.

June, hope the achies go away soon.

Have to get the boys to Sunday school soon. Talk to you later.

agghhhhh, just lost a long ost, and I did it, silly me. Was looking for temp converter, and forgot changing pages would blow away my post in progress.

WELL< it is 51 F outside, 10 C, unseasonably cool for this time of year. I am too cool sitting here in my hoodie. I will go and read and cover under my Sherpa throw, till the sun warms the house again. YES, we have sunshine, almost forgot what it looked like.

I had nice comments to Cyn, Heidi, Suzy and Alie, June, I remember only a bit about them.

Heidi, thanks for reminding me about the pillow project. yes, I think that would be good. do you have my address for sending the fabric??

JUNE, on my puter i can move icons by clicking, draging to new position and dropping. I am imagining there is some keystroke that would move them all at a time, and Laura accidentally typed that in to move all of them.

OK, too cool, I am off to my recliner, must wait another 20 minutes fore my morning coffee. TAMI, will you keep it warm that long for me??

Hugs to eah of you, with extras.

It's 51℉ here, too, and overcast. After the unseasonably warm weather we've been having, this feels like a cold snap.

MizT and Heidi, I've got you beat. My weather for tomorrow, BELIEVE IT OR NOT, is:

Monday - Snow mixed with ice pellets changing to rain late in the morning. Snow and ice pellet amount 2 cm. Rainfall amount 15 to 25 mm. High 7.

Yikes, I think the days are moving backwards here ............

Robert is nuts. Yes, he's still hurting a lot. But he went to an all-weekend biker party anyways. When I mentioned that he did not look pretty right now so he would not attract girls, he said that he was going for sympathy and pity to get the girls.

I was born in Wisconsin, Theresa. The claim there is that Wisconsin has 9 months of winter and 3 months of bad skiing weather.

One August when I was in high school, a car stopped, with skis on their roof, and asked us where the nearest skiing spot was. This car had New York state license plates, so they definitely should have known better. We told them to take the highway heading north out of town and keep on going. They asked how far it was and we told them just to keep going until they saw snow - they should be there by tomorrow. Did they seriously think that once they cross the border it's the land of ice and snow?

We are still having hail showers every day here. Have had a little sunshine today too.
RANT COMING
Our next door neighbour has had to replace a fence panel between our two gardens. The fence belongs to her but the last time they needed replacing we paid for half of them. Anyway today she decided to move one of the fence panels from the back of her garden, where there is a double fence. She proceeded to clear some 'dead' honeysuckle stems (my plant) while I was outside talking to her. I went indoors thinking nothing about what she had done as I thought she had finished the pruning. Later my daughter went out with the dogs, she came straight back in and said that the honeysuckle was drooping as if it was dead. Well it is actually dead as neighbour had continued (using a hedge trimmer) and she had chopped through the main stems. My lovely honey suckle is no more for the moment.

I've been having a bit of a rough time with the kitchen plumbing this last week. We have tried everything to unblock the waste water pipe. will have to call out the professionals tomorrow. Fortunately it doesn't affect the bathrooms.

Good morning everyone!
Hugs to all in need (gentle ones for June, MizT and Theresa).

I'm like Cyn - nothing too exciting happening here. The renovations on the en-suite are continuing. I think they plan to start tiling tomorrow. Wow, I now know why bathrooms are one of the most expensive rooms to renovate. We ordered our taps and fittings on Saturday. The bill included $55 cartage - to take it from their warehouse to their store - we still have to pick it up. Goodness knows what it would have cost to have it delivered to home. Hubby was not impressed!

Oh, good news, James has 2 days work this week. That will be the first paid work since Christmas.

Theresa, seems like NE USA and Canada will be the land of ice and snow the next 2 or 3 days. Snow is expected in many areas, and some measured in feet. Wide scale power outages lasting days also expected. It seems the expected snow will be wet and heavy, will accumulate on trees where the new leaves will give it a good place to stick, weighting down branches, bringing down trees on power lines. Forecasters are saying this Nor'easter is a repeat of the snow storm last October. Are you in the area where this is forecast?? Anyhow, it is all Canada's fault , without the cold Canadian air that will make it's way as far south as Alabama, would just be a big rain. It will be cold enough and windy enough tonight and tomorrow, I shall turn on heat tonight. heat?? It is almost May, but baby, it gonna get cold tonight.

I made a new recipe today, pinto bean cake. i do not recommend it.

Time for dinner, what do I have that will be good with the remainder of my shrimp?? Salad would be good, crusty French bread would be good, and pears and cheese for desert??

MizT, MizT, MizT. Our storm is caused by, "A low-pressure system moving up from the Gulf of Mexico will gain strength as it tracks north into Ontario." At least that's what our weather forecast is saying. In actual fact, from what I understand, the worst of it will miss my area. Sure hope that's true!!!!

I had leftover veggies from yesterday's evening meal at the care centre where my MIL is, so I did a stir fry and added some brown rice. I love stir fries.

Tami and Julie, my hubby is not that into veggies either. So I fix a regular meal with meat, potatoes and veggies. He eats the meat and potatoes and I eat the veggies. Between the two meals there's a balanced meal in there somewhere.

It's supposed to get down to 38℉ / 3.3℃ tonight. IH is leaving for the plant at 5 to 6 am, when it will be at it's coldest. The heater in his truck doesn't work, and he's been too cheap to have it fixed. Karma.

Good morning all
June - I totally understand about Laura's father. I have to deal with rudeness from my son's ex and since she has 2 of the kids, I just ignore it as best I can. I notice that while I'm not worth talking to most of the time - if one of the girls is sick or if she's desperate for a babysitter, suddenly I'm first choice, because I'm her only choice. Her parents would be pushed to remember the girls' names!!
Stay in their lives - that's my priority.

My life may be dull at the moment but I soon I will have to get preparations underway for my June visitor, Rolanda. Make sure the house is presentable and ship-shape. Organise a Sudoku gathering here. (Scary for me!!) Think of interesting places to show her while she's here.
Looking forward to it, though!

Good morning folks.
I cannot imagine what a quite life would be like.. perhaps I would remember what i have just read.
Need a coffee but have no milk and despite being up for two hours I'm still not functioning efficiently..
Yesterday I attended a 40 year reunion. The memories that kindled. WOW. So much laughter, chat and tears. Can you imagine 20 50+ women reliving their late teens, early 20's, spouses, kids.. It is extraordinary the distance that some travelled to share the day.

Just had a hot shower after spending an hour cutting things back in the garden.....in the rain. Only light thank goodness, but I did need to fill the 'green' bin before it is emptied today. I was quite a sight when I came inside!
Cyn, I often just put up some of the mundane things I have been doing. Just keeps us all in touch.
