A computer remote is primarily for radio (changing stations and volume) and for playing DVDs and CDs, as well as controlling almost all settings on the computer, movies, TV shows, podcasts.... and I can go on.... pretty much anything that doesn't need to be typed in. I like to use it when my back is hurting and I want to sit back in an easy chair with my feet up, but use the computer at the same time.

We have now started on another room...the to-do list has sort of been bypassed, but I keep telling myself we still have a couple of months to go before the family gathering!
The kitchen cupboards have been put on the back burner for now, hopefully hubby will get to them soon, some doors need to be botched up from others we have taken out when we out in the exhaust over the cooktop thingy (can't think of its name right now!). We have put in some drawers and they need fronts plus the cavity under the sink needs a door. Not really worth starting to paint them until this is done, then we can do it all at once. The easiest way to do them will be to take off all the doors and do a sort of conveyor system of cleaning, sanding and painting.

Anyway, back to the room we have just started...originally this was Hannah's bedroom when we first moved in, it is the smallest of all the rooms and hubby had claimed it as a music room, so he can clear the music stuff out of his man cave! We will use the same creamy yellow that we have used in most of the house, we have a massive bucket of it. The woodwork will be the colour we were going to use on the cupboards but decided against, it is what we used in the bathroom...should look ok. I have just gone through and filled all the nail holes, will sand in a couple of hours, then apainting we will go...again! The fella that built this house obviously had the use (overuse) of a nail gun, but I think he had it set to machine gun!

I don't have a credit card, and Apple doesn't do PayPal, Gail. I just swallowed my pride and asked IH to let me use his card to order a new remote online. It will be here in a few days.

Up early after another awful night. The cows alerted me that IH hadn't shut a gate that he was told repeatedly to shut. The cows decided to get out, while bawling their heads off. My neighbor George stopped them from getting on the road, then I drove them back in.

Hoo Boy. I just had an ugly discussion with IH. His plant is now under foreclosure, and he wants to use the farm to finance a large loan to pay off the bank that's trying to foreclose on the plant. I put my foot down HARD. He's trying to convince me that his plant is a healthy, viable business which is a good risk. I had to explain to him that the fact that it's under foreclosure, and it has never made a profit is proof otherwise. He just doesn't get it.

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.

Heidi, I don't even know what to say. Keep that foot firmly planted on the ground. I can think of another place to plant it, but I will be a lady and not say it here

I had to remind IH about a similar situation that happened to someone down the road. He took out a loan, using his farm as collateral, without his wife's permission. They are now divorced, and because he signed her name to the papers without her knowledge, the courts awarded her one million dollar settlement. Above and beyond alimony. I informed IH that I have already consulted an attorney about this in case he tries something.

Heidi, you know those promises you made.... I hope you are as tough as you say you are, because on here you come across as a lot softer than you'd like people to believe. Follow through! You know he's going to do whatever he thinks he has to and bugger the consequences!!!

I don't think a million will save your farm...

I frequently am a softy, yes, but IH knows from experience that when I get THIS mad, I mean business. Like the time he said that he was going deer hunting with some buddies, and I told him that since he didn't have a permit, I would have him arrested if he tried it. Well, he snuck out of the house with his shotgun, and I called the cops. I told them what he was doing, where he was parked, and gave them the make and license plate number of his car. He was caught shooting a deer and was arrested. He had to go to court and pay a $3,000.00 fine.

Stay strong, Heidi.

Doctor's office (his nurse) called yesterday (twice) and tore a strip off me for not taking better care of myself, i.e. eating, exercising. My blood sugars are way high. I have to see him next Monday and he will probably put me on insulin. Bit down in the dumps, but it is my own fault.

CynB posted a photo of a nice muffin and coffee on that other site. she inspired me to kooc! I made a couple kinds of muffins this morning, my house smells yummy!

Theresa, glad the doc caught the need for blood sugar control. you can do it. If you need help figuring a food plan, let me know, I am available.

Now I need to shower and get me to town. A few errands that I never got around to this week.

More hugs, till later.

Morning all,
Woo hoo! Rain where it is needed.

MizT, glad you got some sleep, even if it wasn't exactly when you wanted it...

Theresa, don't beat yourself up. Hearing about the work MizT put in initially (and still), it's almost a full time job getting blood sugar under control through diet. If you're like me and don't like to cook - an impossible job!

Greetings, One and ALL! We're home from another meeting. The BIG PUSH is on, as the three-day seminar our club is sponsoring starts in 21 days. After a year of planning, organizing, promoting, etc., it will be nice when we can say it was a successful undertaking!

Heidi, thanks for the explanation of the computer remote. I really had no idea what it was or what it could do, so I was glad to learn that information! I'm sorry you needed to ask IH to use his credit card. I hope he doesn't hold it over your head or act obnoxiously because of it!

Gail, I'm sure you're just taking a brief respite from the kitchen cabinets, doors and drawers. The creamy yellow color you'll be painting sounds like a good choice! Other than the cutting in with paint, taking care of all the nail holes (or pops, in our area) is a big consumer of time. I'm sure in a day or two, you'll be enjoying your new creamy yellow room!

Heidi, maybe you need to resort to pinning a reminder note to IH's shirt, the way my kindergarten teacher used to do with important notes. What a pain to have to get up during the night and drive the cows back into the field they would have stayed in if IH had shut the gate! Thank goodness for your neighbor George!

Oh, dear, Heidi, I just read about IH and his plant in foreclosure. How awful for you! You really need to rein in IH and be sure he has NO way to access anything that he could even remotely use to bail out his business. I know you're strong, but with a soft side. Please remain on high alert to protect yourself and your farm!

Heidi, I guess there's no need to ask if it was a problem that the workmen arrived an hour early. Seems like you were already awake when they arrived. Were they there during the confrontation?

MizT, I'm so glad you got a good night's sleep, even if it lasted to mid-morning to get it!

Theresa, I'm sorry the doctor's nurse felt it necessary to make you feel bad, or, should I say, worse. I hope the appointment with the doctor goes well! {{{HUGS}}} It is better to have the need determined and treated than ignored. Good luck!

Hooray for Heidi's rain, and for the rain that teased MizT's 'dry valley'! Would be nice if it could visit on a regular basis!

I'm sending lots of positive thoughts, prayers, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, healing vibes, and for anyone who can use them!

Julie - I just don't know how you have time to fit everything into your life - and come here - and also visit FB!!
Heidi - good on you. Some things you can afford to be a softie on but not when it comes to your beloved farm!
Tricia - That muffin pic I put up, it was a bought muffin at a coffee shop although I did make some nice apple cinnamon ones last week. I promised Em we'd make choc-chip ones but we both forgot.
Gail - you make me tired reading your to-do list - we should make one of them but bl00dy Scouts interferes with everything. Wonderful organisation but not if your hubby is Group Leader. They have a Camp on the weekend of Karin's 40th in September - told him he'd better be at the party or he'll never be forgiven!
Love and hugs to all!

This coming Sunday, we have Birthday Dinner for the Melbournian Son.. only he says he is not coming.. I can not understand why???
The other son and his gal, MIL are all coming.
We will Skype with the almost 23rd old.
(His birthday is not till next week Thursday - 19th July).
On the menu.. will be Lasagne, Salad, Garlic Bread, followed by sweets (I am still deciding what to have)
The boy was no help in suggestions for his Birthday Menu, in fact he was quite rude about it..
He is hoping we will not enjoy it.

Rolanda, take care of yourself and get those health issues sorted (I know easier said than done) I'm sure once your house is finished and you have your mother's place sorted and other affairs in order your stress levels will lessen. Pleased to hear that the house nearly has a roof on, once that is on and it is water tight bad weather will not hold up the completion of the house. Then Peter will have to start his work fitting the cabinets.
I wonder why S#2 was rude about your planned celebrations for his birthday... he moved so far away from you not the other way round

Heidi, I think Broni's idea, of informing your bank not to accept your signature on any paper work without checking with you, or witnessing you signing it, is a good idea. You have said before that IH has done this before.

I'm a bit worried about him taking off to the plant. You know he's planning something!! Desperate times and all that...

Rolanda, changing something significant about your lifestyle is a good start, not necessarily to do with food, because everything else seems to change with it. I think it's funny that S2 is finding out that the world goes on without him. A hard lesson for young ones - us too when we were young, though I don't remember learning it, I must have! Yay a roof!!!

Cyn, I hope Col makes it to the party, at least for a little while...

Gail, I'm not even game to write anything down because I might go into a panic!
