Even I had a suggestion that she could be a friend.
I was going to ask you,Cyn, if it was your grand daughter.
Gail the new flooring looks great, I'm sure which ever colour you decide on will be perfect.
For those who are suffering illness, I hope you all feel much better soon.

I just got a great phone call. Pain Management called to tell me that they had a cancellation on Monday, and asked if I wanted it. Of course, I said .

I'm not enthusiastic because I don't enjoy being in the dental chair when my back is on the warpath. This will be uncomfortable. But I do need to tell them that I'm gonna need a root canal in tooth #19 fairly soon.

My ability to receive email has been down for 14 hours. When I called the provider, they told me that they're having a serious problem and everybody's is down. They hope to have it back up soon.

Now I can't send either. I'm in negotiations to buy a pair of Plum-headed Parakeets right now. I can't help myself. It's a zookeeper problem that I have.

HI MAMA, so glad to see you back. I was about to ask if anyone had heard from you, and there you are live and in person! Hope all has been going well with you.

I have gone on strike, no more packing boxes till I know I can move. I am cleaning some things that will be moved, like the spice containers, and the canisters. I collected different sealable glass containers for storing everything from flour to rice, beans, dry mint. on and on. Probably had about 30 or more. I am getting rid of many of them, just no room for them. Only the essentials. Most are one of a kind, but there was one set of 4 varying size square glass with glass lids. My niece is getting those for her new house.

Gail, hope you survive the installation of flooring with minimum upheaval. I like the idea of bamboo. If we had ever finished the domes, that was what I wanted for flooring.

Heidi, yeah on the closer appointment for your epidural. I hope the dentist is not too uncomfortable for you. Your new birds sound interesting.

Cyn, that is scary, that FB sends out friend requests for a 12 year old, all on it's own. I am glad that her father is on top of things and has taken her site down.

OK, that is all for this page, if I flip back to refresh my memory I will loose this post. Besides we have a t storm coming at us, I am just beginning to hear the rumbling in the distance. Hugs to each of you, with extras, till later.

I just had a major scare. Robert mowed the lawn this afternoon. When he was done, he went home. About 15 minutes later, my neighbor George called. There was smoke pouring out of the tobacco barn. Robert had parked the new zero-turn mower, with a hot engine, on top of some old hay. The hay was in flames!!! George helped me pull the mower out of the barn before the gas tank could explode, then we emptied out a huge fire extinguisher, then poured bucket after bucket of water on everything in flames, smoking, smoldering or within 5 feet of them. We got the fire out. I then called Robert and yelled. I think this was the first time I ever yelled at him. I'm going back out in a few minutes to pour more water on everything. Fortunately, I had a full 100 gallon water tank only 15 feet from the fire.

Scary, Heidi, and it could have been disastrous for you if your neighbour hadn't spotted it. I think he deserves a few drinks as a thank you for his prompt action. I hope everything is totally out now and that you didn't aggravate your painful back too much.

I've dug through the debris around the fire area, found several hot spots, and soaked them down again. I'm going out for a 4th time in a few to soak everything down again.

OH HEIDI, that was a scary happening. So glad you got the flames out, hope there are no more hot spots. Thank goodness your neighbor saw that and helped get it all out. Very good you had that 100 gallons of water nearby also.

My house smells good, I baked pum-kin muffins today. Only problem with this recipe is it makes 18 muffins. I will send some home with Joy, and freeze some for later. they would make a good breakfast around moving time. Add a piece of fruit and a cup of coffee, and call it breakfast!

IH is always yelling at me for having water reservoirs around the place. He says that they're great breeding grounds for mosquitos. I want back up water supplies in case of emergency. I'd rather have a few mosquitos and not lose the barns and house. Right now, I'm so mad that I'm considering firing Robert.

Hi all. Just a quick hello. I have been really busy getting my room ready and helping mom. She is moved but now we have to unpack all the boxes.

Heidi, I agree with Gail. Wait a day or two and talk to him. He has been a good worker for many years. I know this is a big mistake but give him the benefit of the doubt. Also, could you find someone to replace him?

Heidi, glad you are going to cool down before making a decision. From the way you talk about Robert, I imagine right about now he is feeling very bad. And this is one mistake he will never make again! How very scary ... a fire is one of my worst fears. How fortunate you got the fire out - it would not take long for a hay barn to be totally engulfed.

Good Evening from Illinois! I hope to read and comment a bit tonight! Here's hoping that all news will be good news! I'm just going to start on page 488.

Gail, I like your happiness quote!

In the floor covering color discussion, our experience has been to prefer a lighter color when choosing between two. When we visit D's house, their wood floors are lighter still, so when we come home, our looks darker to us. If we were to do it over, we might choose a lighter color than we did.

Theresa, I hope you are feeling better!

Bean, take good care of yourself and feel better soon! Did the coughing wake you up? If you have Vicks VapoRub there, I have recently read that putting some on the bottoms of your feet and covering with cotton socks when you go to bed helps some people reduce their coughing. I hope you got a nap or two during the day, as 3 hours of sleep at night is not going to help you get better!

Nola, keeping you and Judy in our prayers! Hoping for improvement for her and peace of mind for you! {{{HUGS}}} for both of you!

Broni, good news for your friend Teresa and her D and family! Very encouraging that little Arran is doing better

Vicki, I'm assuming you are feeling better, since you took a drive in the new car. Prawns and oysters for dinner also suggest that you are on the mendl I hope the new furniture is what you expected - or better! Nice the the dog can still have a place under the new coffee table!

Gail, I hope the painting is progressing well and you'll be ready for the flooring when it's ready for you!

Cyn, no wonder you and Col were shocked when fb suggested that you friend Hayley! Hopefully everything will be straightened out soon and Hayley will not be blamed by others at school for any consequences to the action.

Cyn, {{{HUGS}}} and lots of support for the 1-year anniversary! Share the happy memories and know that your Mum is in a better place.

Afternoon all,
Firstly, thank goodness Facebook recognised the connection and recommended Hayley to you! She would never have sent a request because that would give her away and this way you (and Dad) knew and could nip it in the bud before it got too far... I wouldn't have let Alie anywhere near FB when she was in Primary School, she was bullied badly enough as it was, imagine if cyber bullying was added to the mix!

Heidi, sorry to hear about your fire. I hope the thunderstorm dropped lots of rain so you didn't have to worry too much. I'm sure Robert will learn from this, he's not Gil after all.

Gail, 2 weeks seems okay. A tight enough deadline to ensure you get stuff done, but not so tight that it's impossible. I hope it works out that way!!

Broni, that sounds like a better schedule. I hope it's what you want...

Hugs and thoughts to everyone, especially those I haven't mentioned.

We are cursed...went to pay the deposit and guess what...stocks wont be delivered till the 6th (worst case scenario) so work wont start till the 10th unless it comes in sooner! It will be cutting it fine for the deadline, just so we can have it done and dusted, but still gives us breathing space. Today I painted two more doors of the big room (first coat) and I can officially say half of the skirting/woodwork is done in that same room *sigh* Will it ever end?
As soon as I have done that, I will be painting the kid's end lounge...glutton for punishment!
If you look at the colour link for the flooring again, the lighter colour of the sample called French Bleed is about the colour of Sandy, so not too light but not bland either. French Bleed was very nice, as it had those black streaks through it, but in reality it has more black than is shown in that colour swatch and it would have been too much and 'busy' in the big room, so Sandy it is...if it ever comes in

WARNING: Gross stuff.
Poor Tahli! She has shown no signs of being sick, none. It doesn't help that she is a grumpy bum at the best of times. Today we took her to the doc because she had a discharge from her ear (first idea that something might be wrong). She pulled on the other ear for the first time in the doctor's waiting room. Both ears are infected, and her throat! The one that had a discharge had it because her ear drum had burst and the pus was coming out... She has been finally acting sick since the doc pulled on her ears and stuck a stick down her throat. :(

Good evening folks...

Heidi that was a lucky save.. remember..'act in haste repent at leisure'..but you know that. Understand you feeling as you do and also that you haven't made a decision to do that. Having escaped that potential disaster I suspect you will now have the most conscientious help around..

Cyn..1st anniversary's are so hard.. (((BIG HUG)))

Broni you have such a warped SOH.. how do I know... because I was thinking exact the same thing and giggling at the thought.. hoping they wouldn't lose their way.. probaly wouldn't have aired it.. he he Glad you are working less.

Thanks Julie.. I read that somewhere before as well. Saw the doctor today and he said my chest doesn't sound good and has started me on antibiotics. I'm very short of breath and wheezy..all the gunk I'm bringing up is making me nauseated but it is best out of my lungs. My cough is looser and less painful tonight so I'm hoping I've turned the corner.

I'm going to throw some stuff in the slow cooker before I go to bed and will have pea & ham soup ready for lunch... love my slow cooker..

Have been catching flies..best hit submit and go to bed ...

Everybody is assuming Robert will learn from this. I'm not so sure. He's no rocket scientist. I've had problems with him before because of carelessness. Like the time he was driving around in the tractor with the doors open for ventilation (he forgot that the windows opened, and the tractor had air conditioning) and he shattered a glass door on a tree. A new door cost me a thousand. There have been other incidents that I cannot think of right this minute. I don't think Robert WILL learn.

Poor Tahli!!! She must have a massive pain tolerance! That ear drum must have HURT!

Now I'm out the door to go to the dentist's. Byeeeee.

SO glad I could give everyone a laugh.

Back from the dentist's. We've scheduled a root canal for #19, like I thought we would. Also, the fracture in #14 has gotten worse, and since that tooth has a) already had a root canal, and b) it's an anchor tooth for a bridge, I'm gonna have to have it pulled and an implant installed. I think I'm the reason that my dentist can go on such lavish holidays around the world.
