...and Suzy
The coffee isn't too dark, but it does darken the room, which is sort of the opposite feeling we are trying to bring to certain areas of the house.

Will it not be too yellow for that room Gail, if all the walls are light yellow??
Either way it will be nice

Happiness is within you. When you stop the chatter of the mind and expel your worries and fears you find out that happiness surfaces from within you.

I know Rolanda, I am still wavering, but Sandy really is more of a strawberry blonde rather and a yellow blonde, so it really is the compromise between the yellow of the walls and the dark reddish colour of the furniture...and yet, the coffee looks better in our end...and yet the other living room is really the heart of the house and that is the main decider...and yet...

Gail, where do you spend most of your time? Your end or the living room? I'd use that as a guide. You're the one who has to live there!

I would go with the coffee... to me that is a noice cosier colour.
and a nice contrast with the Yellow Walls
and wood goes with wood no matter the colour..

Have you got samples Gail, that you can um and ahh over in the various rooms?

yes, we have the samples, and we have put them in all aspects of light etc. I hear what you are saying Suzy, but the middle section is the main part of the house, and a very large area, we can't get the colour wrong in that part of the house.

It's a lovely colour, I can't imagine it being wrong. But I haven't seen Sandy so really should not have an opinion!

Gail, you do have quite a bit of light coming into that room with the 'skylights' above..

Morning.

I think I feel better today ... time will tell. I am, however, still very tired. Another nap today will probably be in order.

Mind if I throw my 2 cents in? I say go with the Sandy. A lighter color is both more cheerful, and gives the impression of more space. And for some reason, you don't feel the need to have as many lights on (even with skylights). Even though the coffee is lovely, I think you will regret not going lighter.

Glad you are on the mend, Theresa. Your body says it's still healing, so please listen to it. If it says ''nap'', then nap.

Nighty-night, Heidi. I did go for a nap and it lasted an hour and a half. Just the right amount of time so that hopefully it won't interfere with my sleep tonight.

LONDON - The Queen's husband, Prince Philip, was admitted to hospital Wednesday with a recurrence of the bladder infection he suffered earlier this summer, Buckingham Palace officials said Wednesday.

Palace officials said he would likely stay in the hospital for a few days for investigation and treatment.

The 91-year-old royal consort was hospitalized for five days in June with a bladder infection that may have been aggravated by his prolonged appearance at a flotilla pageant marking the Queen's 60-year reign.

Wishing him well!!!

Oh it is so not good to have woken only 3 hours after falling asleep. My chest hurts. Wondering if I have coughed enough to be able to go back to sleep. Breathing a bit easier but it feels a bit raw.
The dogs are happy.. Lachie arrived home from work an hour ago .. they don't have to share..they do like to have their very own person.
Have just been watching some old footage of Julia Childs on GMA.. fascinating.
The bushfires over there look terrible.

Might do a puzzle & try to get some more sleep.
Wish me luck.

No nap. Robert showed up minutes after I typed that last post. We've been working hard on that fence, though it doesn't look like we've done much. We hung the gate, attached 2 livestock panels, pulled a 40 ft tree off the fence, picked up a lot of fallen branches in our way and Robert is now digging post holes by hand. The tractor can't get back to where we're working. Too many big trees.

Prince Philip. The man is a character. He seems to get a kick out of people's reactions when he says exactly what he wants to say, with no regard for political correctness. And he sure doesn't look 91.

We all have times when things go wrong and issues keep piling up one after the other. This is one of those times. Looking forward to seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
Thinking of you all with love.

Hi all. Busy day at school today. Had to go to a training class that was a 30 minute drive. Another teacher rode with me and half-way there I got a call that a 3rd just found out they had to go to. Boys are coming with me tomorrow to help finish up my room.

Gail, like the floor. Have to go back and look at colors again. I agree with Heidi, if in doubt, go lighter.

Hi all!
Gail, I like the coffee colour but just wanted to let you know that our timber floors have gone darker over time. I assume that's got to do with the estapol/polish they apply. I don't know if that's something you might need to be aware of.
MizT, I hope they can sort out a unit for you soon. It would be nice if they could offer you the next unit that became available instead of waiting for the repairs on the current unit.
Belatedly to Laura and Scott. It sounds like they both enjoyed special days.
It was the Ekka (show) holiday yesterday. The weather was perfect (10-25C), clear blue skies and just a slight breeze. I slept in until 10:30 (that's unheard of for me) and then I dragged hubby out for a bit. We took the new car for a drive and it has now done over 100ks. We ended up at the bay and bought prawns and oysters for dinner.
We've also unpacked the new coffee table but not the new tv cabinet yet. We can't be bothered unpacking everything out of the old cabinet, moving it and replacing it all - probably on the weekend, though. The dog is happy as he can still fit under the new coffee table. It's his favourite spot to lie when he is upstairs.

So quiet here. I'll see you all tomorrow. I've got to pick up fence posts tomorrow, to continue the job. I won't be doing much work this weekend since the State Fair starts tomorrow, and I'll spend Sunday there, finishing up with the Oak Ridge Boys concert.

I don't think the 'puppies' have seen me really sick.. great concern at all the coughing.. Zoe in particular. Lana wandered in and prodded me in the forehead a few times over the night.. checking that I was alive ..when breathing became very laboured. My very own apnoea alarm!! I think getting caught in the rain last night after class didn't do my chest any good..

Hi, Everyone! Just popping in for a quick Hello! Everything feel into place that needed to be done today. However, I didn't know there would be 6 grad students attending my cello lesson today and taking notes. On top of that many/most knew one of our Ds, or both. Would have been better if I were some random person they knew nothing about! Oh, well - just followed Gail's post from fb today and did the best I could today.

Sending lots of , positive thoughts, prayers, {{{{{HUGS}}}}} and healing vibes for everyone! Maybe I'll have time to read tomorrow!

Evening all,
Nola, I'm sorry Judy is not improving yet. And so hard not to be able to give her a hug. Thoughts, wishes and SA vibes heading her way!

Broni, great news about Arran! Kind of sobering reading your weaning comments. He'll be a tough little bugger after making it through this! Thoughts wishes and SA vibes to him and his family too.

Isn't it great that we have enough thoughts and wishes for everyone! When the number of people needing them gets really big, there are enough of us to strengthen them anyway.

Gail, what a load off your mind not having to think about it anymore! How long will it take them to process your order and start installing? Too long I'll bet!

Vicki, you didn't say how impressive your new car was. I hope it was as good as you remembered from your test drive. Are you happy with the furniture you have assembled so far? I hope it's yes for both. When you invest time and money into things it's great when they are everything you'd hoped for!

Oh Julie, how intimidating! I'm sure you did very well.

Hello all - been quiet on SA today.
Broni - pleased Arran is improving daily.
Nola - hope Judy starts to feel better very soon.
Beanie - you too! Take care. Smile about your live-in Apnoea alarm!
Julie - I'm sure you did great at your cello lesson!
Vicki - you didn't say if you were feeling better, I hope you are.
Gail - I like both colours (bamboo) - but I guess only you can work out which would suit best or if the darker one would darken the room. We have an L-shaped house and in the L angle is the outdoor area roof which tends to make our kitchen and dining rooms in particular quite dark (skylight in the kitchen only helps in strong summer sunlight) - then to top it off, our floors are grey slate tiles. Never again, but to change them would mean such upheaval. One day, one day!
Love and hugs to all!

A fortnight Monday it all starts, first the lifting and removal of the existing carpet then a few days of laying. I have two weeks to finish painting the woodwork in both rooms, and I have been terribly slack this last fortnight :(
Tomorrow after shopping, head down, tail up! There's work to be done!

Big upset in our family today - during the afternoon Col and I were sitting here both on our laptops, both on FB, when up pops a friend recommendation, not request, for Hayley (eldest granddaughter 12yo). This shocked us because it was still school hours, said she'd joined 7 minutes earlier and she'd been told - no way until she was at least 13, next May.
I waited until her father finished work and rang him to see what was going on, he was already on it.
Apparently she was in class and another girl helped her join - strictly forbidden at school.
Result - she has been deleted by her parents (one thing they agree on) and her Mum will be fronting up at the school tomorrow to ask how that happened. Something tells me a few kids will get into trouble tomorrow - and possibly take it out on H for getting caught.
Peer pressure at 12 - in primary school!! What the h3!! is to come???

Off to bed now - big day tomorrow - avoiding the elephant in the room (1 year since Mum passed away) by having Mother/Daughter day with Karin at a big Westfield centre (Carindale) that has recently been extended. Then meeting my siblings at the cemetery followed by dinner with them in the evening. Although I will be observing the day, I hope not to dwell on it too much or feel too sad - she is at peace and with my Dad.

You'd think Hayley would have been smart enough not to send friend ''requests'' to the people who had forbidden her to go on Facebook! Is the age when she's going to be allowed on there been moved back to 14?

She didn't send a request, but must have added enough details for fb to put two and two together and come up with Cyn and Col as a suggestion...fb is crafty like that!
