I saw that on a fridge magnet at my D's place when I went to feed her animals a little while ago. I thought it was cute.

Hi all. Just got back from a neighbor's birthday party. She is turning 10 and my boys play with her older brother. They had a blast. Mitchell started a Driver's Education class this morning. It is 9 weeks, from 8-12. I guess I will finally have to start teaching him to drive. He has already been informed he is NOT getting his license at 16, maybe at 17. His insurance will be about $2500 per year and I can not afford that right now. I am also not letting him drive until I am completely comfortable with his ability and maturity.

Good morning all
Heidi, enjoy your Indian dinner. Yum!
Theresa - hope that storm eases off before it gets to you!
We went to Col's niece's wedding yesterday, which was lovely and such good weather for an outdoor wedding on the foreshore of the bay. Best bit was when the bride and groom's 3 yo son says loudly during the vows, 'Mummy, I need peepee'. We all laughed and the celebrant said - 'Well, I've never heard that one before!!' A relative took him away and dealt with it.
Now, today I am off to a jewelry auction, may snap up a bargain, got my eye on a few things.

I walked out on my back porch a bit ago, and did a double take. There was a mule standing next to the house next door. Now I did not say anything when they got a goat, or a big black dog they leave tied on their front deck. Dog barks at me every time I step out my door. But a mule? I came inside to get my cell phone, was gonna snap a photo, mule was gone when I got back. I saw what I thought was a lead tying it to the side of house. turned out to be a water hose and just appeared to be tied to the mule. I wonder where this animal belongs??

I felt really sorry for the dog earlier. Their front deck is not covered. Dog is on a short leash there, and there was no dry place for it when another thunder shower came by. Poor thing was trying, unsuccessfully to crawl under a BBQ grill for cover. dog would effectively keep anyone from coming to their door, and would announce anyone who even drove up in their or my yard. It barked at me when I turned into MY driveway today. Huumm, could have used his services when someone broke into rogers travel trailer back some weeks ago.

Heidi, hope you enjoyed the dinner out. I have never had Indian food, a bit afraid, since I do not like hot kinds of spicy foods. I am sure there are dishes that are not hot hot, but I would have no idea what they were.

Theresa, I also like your TOPP. Reminds me of something I read on my sisters fridge. Friends will help you move, but your best friend will help you move bodies hehehe.

Heidi, I see you already have cooler weather. Ours id cooling and the dew point, humidity levels are dropping also. Happy for the lower humidity. NOW if we can go without rain for 2 days, and Eddie can come cut grass Monday morning fore he goes back to work, would be very good. My grass is almost tall enough to bale as hay.

Anyone have any ideas on what to make with 5 pounds of chicken legs? No thighs, just drumsticks. That was the meat portion of the food bank offering today. I thought boil part of it and make a good chicken stew, with carrots and onions and noodles. I need to get some celery from grocery tomorrow fore I can make that one. That would be good for half of it, cause if I made it all into stew, I would have to eat it for 2 weeks hehehe.

Catch you all later, hugs to each of you, with extras.

I think the universe plots against me. We got to the Indian restaurant only to discover that they'd closed.. out of business... as of today. We ended up going to the steakhouse next door. I had an excellent steak, but it was a major let down. My taste buds craved mango lassi, garlic naan and lamb vindaloo.

Hi folks..
Lots of reading to catch on..
Glad you had a good day Broni.

Cyn I joined only a few months [4] before you and 5 before Broni.. We have all had some massive upheavals in our lives over the last 5 years.

My mum died not that long after I joined, P. & I seperated a few months later, struggled with my mother-in-laws needs [she didn't know we had split for good..too distressing at her age], her funeral, settlement of her estate [& family rift]..my brothers illness and death, brother in law and a much loved uncle... A special FV friend who understood why I needed the 'game' to disassociate myself from the harsh reality that was my life.. She understood because she used FV the same way. I miss our phonecalls. I would never have connected with her if it wasn't for her mum being here.. RIP Sharon.

So much grief and pain and who has always been here... this family of ours.. We all know how supportive we have all been individually and collectively.

How did I ever survive without you all??
Who were the two people who 'talked me round' when I was in a state of shock when after receiving not so good health diagnosis..

You all make my life immeasurably richer.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart

I've just realised what prompted that long post.. it was Tricia's comment about Al.
We have supported each other through so many firsts.. but I hadn't realised that Al was so young... makes my heart ache even more. How precious is every second of our life. The ones least wasted have been spent here with you all..

Redneck competition?? Heidi you crack me up! Still laughing out loud, neighbours think I am crazy!
Heidi, did you kill a chinaman or break a mirror, what rotten luck, would cook it for you if I was closer. Happy Anniversary anyway.
MizT, you can always freeze part of the stew, but know what you mean have quite often eaten the same meal for lunch and dinner until it is gone. Then you have one less decision and work to do.
Hey Cyn, checked online this morning and my photo book has been despatched, submitted the 3rd sent the 7th and I was worried I would not get it in under 10 working days. Somedays are diamonds.
Theresa, great topp may be repeating someone here but don't forget a good friend helps you hide the bodies(always think about Heidi when I see that one hehe)
Tami, Mitchell has maturity beyond his years thanks to good parenting. Is there better coverage on insurance over there for a learner driver rather than them having their licence and driving your car? Understand if he had his own car insurance would be expensive.
Well outta here to enjoy the sunshine.
Love and Healing Hugs to all.

Good Evening, Friends and Fellow Sudokuaholics!

Heidi, I'm so sorry to hear of your awful night! I hope tonight will be a 100 per cent improvement with NO bad storms, NO frightened dogs and NO sore back! By the way, you are BRILLIANT! If you're the one driving, YOU get to choose which restaurant you park at. I hope you had a wonderful Indian dinner for your anniversary!

Theresa, I hope the severe weather chose another direction and didn't cause problems for you! Seems like a good weekend to stay in and enjoy your hubby's company - and the grandies, if they join you!

I love your TOPP, Theresa!

Heidi, congrats on getting the calving pasture bush-hogged! I thought you might be able to take it easy today! At least, I hope you had a fantastic dinner at the Indian restaurant!

Tami, was the birthday party for the little girl who comes over to your house and gets candy? I hope Mitchell has a really good instructor for Drivers Ed! That's a great policy to delay his license. WOW! It's expensive to add a teen driver to your insurance policy! I'm glad my kids are grown!

Cyn, the bride and groom were lucky to have perfect weather! (At least the son announced his need and didn't just form a puddle.) Good luck at the jewelry auction!

Oh, no, Suzy! A lost post! (It's always the long ones!) Some day maybe we'll find them all floating around above our houses. I hope all are well at your house!

Oh, my, first there was a mule, then there wasn't one. MizT, do you suppose it was just visiting/passing through? You'd think anyone with a mule would have it tied/tethered/fenced in. Sorry, no ideas for you chicken legs.

Heidi, what a shame that the Indian restaurant is closed! And, of course, it had to be effective today! Do any surrounding towns have one that you could try, hoping that it might be nearly as good?

Rola, so glad your weather is good, maybe even beautiful? Enjoy it while you can!

Bean, what a beautiful post! The years seem to be flying by, and many things have changed in many lives, but the one constant has been our SA friends! Do you suppose Gath has any idea what a wonderful thing he created?

Hi, Broni! I hope all is well! Your tacos sound good and spicy! 'They' say that spicy/hot foods are good for you (if you can deal with them). Enjoy your sunny day!

Heidi, I hope you have a good night's sleep and don't do TOO much clearing with the bush hog tomorrow! (I hope it has a great warranty, as you're giving it a good work-out!)

Time for me to crawl into bed. {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, positive thoughts, , healing vibes and prayers for all!

Evening all,
MizT, I know exactly what I would do with chicken legs - or get hubby to do anyway. He bakes delicious legs or wings with a spicy/sweet sauce! I don't know the whole recipe, but it has Cajun spices and BBQ or steak sauce in it.

It's very sad about the dog and the mule! I'm guessing these aren't the nice people who gave you thanksgiving dinner last year???

Al was a few years younger than my mum was...too young!

Heidi, missing the restaurant by one day really sucks! I hope you can find another good one soon.

Excitement here. Dana had very long hair that got very tangled. She wasn't good at dealing with the pain of brushing it so too often would just pull it up in a bun. It was disgusting and very lazy! Anyway she offered to pay Alie to get it under control for her. Alie got about half way through and worked out doing any more was impossible. She got the scissors out and Dana now has very very short hair. And surprise, surprise, it really suits her! It is such a relief to not have to nag my adult daughter about something so ridiculous anymore!!

Morning all.

I LOVE THIS SITE. You guys have helped me and are still helping me with stuff that life throws at us. HUGS.

We lost power for 4 hours last night, right before my supper was ready. Munched on celery waiting for the power to come back on, and then finally went to bed. There was no storm when the power went off, the sun was actually peeking through. Maybe someone hit a transformer. I checked the local radio station (yes, a small town has a local radio station), but nothing was mentioned. I very seldom listen to this station because the music is not to my liking, and as it turns out they are useless as far as local information. Such is life!

We got cooler weather as well. I actually had to have a blanket last night!

Coughing a lot less today (although still coughing tonight). Julie, I have been doing some sleeping in the recliner but have to wait till Hubby comes to bed which is often after midnight (the recliner is in the TV room).
got a lot of gardening done today and even some help pruning a very overgrown Camellia bush by Hubby (it was up over the guttering). We then went out for lunch. Maybe that was to stop me finding more gardening jobs for him to do.
When out I bought some potting mix and I have re potted the long tubs at the front porch. They had some straggly 'Moses in a Basket' which I have taken out but replanted some small ones and also added some white petunias. It should look good in a few weeks.

Bean, I knew Sharon spoke to you sometimes but she never told me anything about your talks. I am so pleased you were able to help one another.
I also appreciated all the support i got from this site and I hope I have been able to give back some Of what I received.
Suzy, pleased Dana now has short hair which will be easier to look after. If Laura has knots I put lots of conditioner on her hair and then the knots come out without all the pulling.

We call a bush hog a slasher. Belinda has one and Ken goes around her paddocks when the weeds get long. He just has to watch out that he does not put the tractor wheels down a wombat hole.
I am also surprised that a restaurant would close it's doors during the weekend which you would think would be the busiest night.

Well, it is not a mule, it is a rather large donkey and yes, it does belong to neighbor. Dern thing woke me this morning, heehaw, hee haw. I was on porch looking at it, and the dog was barking at me, so neighbor came out to hush the dog and I asked about it. Just what I need a dern donkey right under my windows aaaggggggghhhh. If I am not out of here soon, I will have to report that to her landlord. You are right Heidi, her place is not large enough for a mule or a donkey, and we are not allowed livestock here. Another neighbor tried a few years ago, with a calf.

Julie you are a wonder. You make sure you remember everyone.
Love the top Theresa. You take care and watch your health issues.

Big HUGS to you all.

SUZY, I use a product to get rid of tangles, and it does a good job. When I was in hospital, brushing hair was not a high priority for several days. Wallowing around in bed had tangled mine around the clasp holding the pony tail, it was so matted hair stayed in pony tail without the clasp. I had neighbor who brought me clean clothes to bring my Cowboy Magic, and all the tangles came out quickly. This is a 'tail and mane dressing' for horses and humans and really works for me. Tiny amount rubbed into hair and onto hair brush and brushing is a breeze.

Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.

Broni, Mitchell has his learner's permit. He is listed on my insurance but by state law I do not pay for him until he is a fully licensed driver. He has a lot of restrictions now, like he must have a licensed driver in the front seat at all times, no driving at night, and more. He is mature, most of the time. He is lazy and driving us nuts. He is extremely smart, getting perfect stores on those big state tests, but gets 'F's' in school because he loses or forgets to turn in his homework. He is taking an online class to make up the 'F' he got in biology last year. His guidance counselor could not believe he failed half a year but got one of the highest scores on the end-of-course exam. This is one reason he is not driving yet.

June, you have to know, it was 6:30 am when the donkey woke me, not a time I get up of a morning. At least I managed to wake the offending neighbor. Well, her dog did, but it was barking at me. It is not the time she gets up of a morning either.

None of those products would have made any difference to Dana's hair. Alie was using products!

Grr the noisy donkey MizT. For the animals' sake, you might have to involve the landlord - if you can do it without the neighbour working it out! Your place will be empty and vulnerable. Hopefully the noise will convince them to do something before you have to...

Tami, it's incredibly frustrating isn't it?? My girls are lazy too. I hope Mitchell sorts himself out.

Our learners have restrictions like accompanied by a driver with a full license, speed limits etc, but they have to have a minimum of 20 hours of night driving before they can take the driving test.

Thanks Tami, laws change here from state to state as well. I couldn't get my licence until I was 18 in Victoria and think that is the law down there still, but up here they can get a licence at 17.
Mature in someways but not in others. Drinking laws as well.
Going to bed, brain cannot spell anymore.
Love and Healing Hugs to you all.
