Morning all. Coffee is ready, help yourself.

I agree that $120 is outrageous for delivery but I think that is their standard fee. I don't think it is preying on the elderly. I think it is bad company policy. My parents just happen to live close to their biggest store and warehouse. They also want to buy two beds, a dresser and night table for the second bedroom. They have to have a place for their grandsons to spend the night

I had an awful night. Legs and back in agony. I think I've now gotten the pain meds levels up high enough that I might be able to survive today. Might. I do know that I'm gonna crash afterwards. Maybe I can make IH go out and pick up a loaded pizza for supper tonight so I don't have to cook.

ARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHH!!! One of my boots vanished! I've torn the house apart and can't find it anywhere. I'm having to compromise with some custom made moccasins that look like buccaneer shoes. They don't make the same look, but I've no choice.

I have returned. I am exhausted and my back is killing me. I'm off to bed for several hours. But we had a blast. It was worth it. We ended up being joined by another member after all, so there were 4 of us. Large numbers of people wanted to take our pictures, particularly Tammy's (she has a perfect Jack Sparrow costume with wig, beard and mustache) and I handed out large numbers of pirate coins to kids who came up to us before and after the parade to ask about pirates. Tammy and I got into several sword fights during the parade to thrill the crowds. And they were thrilled. All in all a good day, and worth the pain afterwards.

Did Captain Jack scare everybody away, or does EVERYONE here have a life? I'm feeling abandoned with nobody to talk to.

The back and legs feel better with several pain pills and a nice nap. I made it!!! I survived the parade!

Good to hear you are feeling better Heidi.
Meant to be 35deg today and not much breeze around my area. Bella is feeling the heat even though the house is still cool.

Good maEn everyone!! Read some pages since my last post, I can't remember ANYTHING!!!
I wore purple for Lizzy last week. Didn't know her well (other than here). Got our halloween decor up yesterday. Darrell cut the yard, put outside decor up (I took care of inside). My buddy Helen took me out for a bit. We went to the grocery store & she treated me for lunch. We are going to SLC with Patricia Wednesday. There are some Eastern Star ladies who are selling some of their formal dresses. Helen gave me 2 pairs of shoes today. One dressy, one casual. Will try them on to see if I can wear them.
Not much else going on this weekend. Love, Hugs & Healing Vibes to those who need them with extras!!! TTFN

Just a quick visit to say Hello and Good Night!

Suzy, how nice that Alie has found a potential singing partner. Good luck to Dana in her new 'digs.'

Cyn, I hope the beach was more enjoyable than the drive to and from! There are some crazy drivers on the roads.

No time to read any more. Sending the usual {{{{HUGS}}}} and and vibes, thoughts and prayers! Take care of yourselves!

Evening all,
Heidi, I don't think there was any doubt you would survive the parade. Determination will do it every time! It sounds like it was a lot of fun.

Broni, much cooler here today than that, though still warmer than yesterday. Although it seemed to rain consistently all day, it was only a drizzle so we only ended up with 6 or 7mm. Hopefully enough to rescue the lawn which is already looking pretty brown and it's not even summer yet! I hope Bella is feeling better now that it's later and, hopefully, a little cooler..

Finished a book today. Wonder what I should read next?

Heidi - glad the parade went well and that your back feels a bit better after some pills and a rest.
Suzanne - Happy Birthday - not showing on here but it was on FB.
Broni - it was awfully hot today, wasn't it? It's cooling down nicely now though.
Having early dinner tonight, Col has a week and a bit of early starts so our routine is disrupted. I hate these early starts, I don't sleep well.
Oh well, Melbourne in less than 2 weeks!

Hi folks.
Feel like i have been MIA for ever.. this emotional rollercoaster that that this last week has been finally dumped me last night. Couldn't stop crying yesterday afternoon.. Lizzy and other very personal stuff that has been piling up. A friend rang last night and asked if I'd like a massage. Proved to be just the tonic I needed. We shared the woes of each others broken marriages, absence of significant others, health issues, financial woes, lawyers, concern for the future and I returned home a much happier chappie :)
Now to get back on track... and catch up on reading starting with page 519...
Love and hugs to all in case it takes me awhile to catch up on your news.

Laura has gone home so I am catching up with some mail etc on the computer.
Heidi, sounds like you had a great day. I do hope you do not suffer too much.
Suzy, nice to have Dana with her own accommodation but you will miss them both.
Pleased the work is coming your way, especially with Christmas on the horizon.
I hope the boy just becomes very good friends with Alie. That way they could become a very good singing/supporting friendship without all the emotional hangups.
Talking of Christmas, Last night Laura said Christmas is getting close and she had no idea what she wanted. Then asked if I had any suggestions of what she might like. Then she said 'I would like My Mummy back but even Santa cannot do that'. All said quite matter of fact. I kept calm at the time but had a few tears later.
The pups are starting to open their eyes so Laura saw them tonight on Skype.

Hugs all around.

Suzanne, what is Eastern Lady?

Busy day today - have to get the groceries and make the pies. Chocolate mousse pies are very yummy and very rich ... unfortunately I won't be able to have any.

No change in the feet, so I will have to pace myself today.

Very coolish right now. We had a low of 2C overnight. We went for a bit of a drive yesterday to look at some of the fall colours.

Bean, if we lived closer we could go bar hopping. I haven't done that in decades, but I could use a few drinks!!!!! I haven't had a drink in a few years now, so I would be a 'cheap' drunk! Take care of yourself, young lady.

I was hoping to go to Melbourne to meet Mo but the timing is all wrong. I have some commitments the week 15 to 20 with an 80th birthday party on 20th. and then we leave on the cruise on 23rd.
When I sat here a while ago I started coughing again. So annoying. I have been OK all day!
Yesterday while shopping with Laura she asked if she could have this 'battle blob'. As it was only a couple of dollars I let her have it. It was a blob of purple putty and you stuck some eyes etc into it. Laura had a great time making shapes etc. She came out this morning in tears. She had taken it to bet and it was stuck all through her jammies, the sheet etc. It is a major job removing it. I have scraped it off, then used eucalyptus oil. Then a lot of scrubbing with soap. I have to do the sheets tomorrow. I will check the instructions next time I buy something like that.

Theresa, Happy Thanks Giving. The food sounds yummy.
I trust Gail has had a great weekend after all her work.
Reminded me of myself when I was that age. I always had to paint etc, at the last moment when someone was coming or I had something on.
Suzanne, enjoy your birthday.

Theresa, If I am correct, an Eastern Lady is the female equivalent of the Mason Lodge. Suzanne has been trying to join but has been getting redtape from the chapter closest to her, Tooele. The chapter in Salt Lake City has been much more responsive to her and should be accepting her as a member.

Good Maen everyone!
Theresa: Eastern Star (not lady) is the women's section of the Freemasons. We hold functions (like the fashion show in two weeks) to raise money for various charities. I was trying to get into the local chapter here, but the woman in charge of my paperwork was a jerk. Went over her head (with some help) and found that all my papers were in order, BUT she still wouldn't accept it. SO, I am joining a chapter in Salt Lake City. They are more than willing to have me!!!!

Well, I'm up and out of bed. I slept until after 2 pm, then had to help IH with installing a grass seeder on a tractor, and then teaching him how to use the hydraulics. Then I had to teach him how to drive a Mahindra tractor (both tractors are Mahindras..... the number 1 selling tractor in the US, despite John Deere's claims). My throat is now sore from yelling at him to take off the parking brake before driving it. I also yelled about him getting my 16 ft trailer repaired. He broke both my trailer and his assistant (and girlfriend) Pam's trailer the same day. He got Pam's trailer fixed immediately, but hasn't done a thing about mine. He doesn't like me yelling at him, and doesn't seem to realize that 1) I won't yell if he gives me nothing to yell about, and 2) I don't like to yell.

Suzy.... there was serious doubt on my part about surviving the day.
I really wasn't sure that my back could handle the time on my feet. There was a real risk of the pain hitting hard and fast and me blacking out from it. I would have brought my UTV along so I only would have to do enough walking to complete the parade only, but since IH broke the trailer I use to haul it in, that wasn't an option any more. Next year I WILL have my UTV available. We're doing the pirate thing again. But with more ''loot'' to hand out to the kids. And hopefully more pirates.

Thanks for the info, Suzanne and Tami. It just doesn't sound fair that one person can have so much authority for applications. I guess you could say she is on a real power trip!

Veggies are cleaned and packaged, and tomorrow I will make the pies. I realized today that if I made them, I really wouldn't have much place to store them overnight as I just couldn't make room in the fridge for three of them.

My feet are so sore from getting groceries and standing cleaning, scraping, cutting veggies. So I have a stirfry on the stove, and I'm on the computer resting my foot. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Happy birthday, Suzanne!!!!

Evening all,
Made a mistake today. I was only filling in for one day until the permanent teacher came back after 2 months away. Realised how much the kids didn't know that they should and went through some of it with them. Then I made my mistake... I said 'If I was going to have you for a while, I'd make you up some notes on this stuff'. Oh miss, could you do it anyway, pleeeeease???

Took Alie looking for her formal dress again today. Looked in a couple of shops and then in an Op Shop. Not a charity shop but a copy of a charity shop for profit. She found her dress! It's lovely! Vintage lace and beads and some kind of silk, possibly shantung. Cheaper than a store bought formal dress, but not cheap! Hubby was horrified at first, thought she was just trying to save us money, then I told him how much it cost... Alie is happy and wearing it around the house. She is probably going to wear my wedding shoes as my wedding dress was the same sort of creamy colour, in china silk, and they go with it really well.

Heidi, 12 hours down, only 11 to go!

Theresa, at least you seem to have eliminated the statins as a cause of your foot problems! Well, so far at least. From the posts I've read, convincing your doc may not have been an easy thing...

Tami, I hope you get to go to the parade next year!

Suzanne, it really was funny...

Gail, sounds like a great weekend. Can't wait to hear more when you have recovered!

One of Alie's favourite things about the dress is that it makes her boobs look smaller (well, it hides most of the cleavage, they don't really look smaller, but don't tell her that!) I got permission to post on her post on facebook about it!!

Gekko everybody!!

Just a few hours to go until the epidural!! I need to move some hay and feed the cows some before I go. The cows say that they've grazed their present pasture, but we can't move them until we replace a fence that's become defective. The calves discovered that they can walk back and forth through it and have started wandering when in the other big pasture. We hope to have the fence replaced next week if the weather cooperates. Until then, the cows will get hay.

Heidi; My birthday was yesterday. (the 7th) Still love the wishes tho!! hope you get relief from the epidural
Suzy: not denying it was funny, just a tense day between Darrell & I. After my comments to Helen (via text) she said she is only 25 (told her she has grey hairs older than that!!!) Going out with her and Patricia to look at some formal wear from other Eastern Star ladies. I have an outfit for my installation (courtesy of Patricia) but might need 1 or 2 more. The 3 of us always have fun.
That's all for now everyone! Take care, will check in later. TTFN

I got 14 rolls of hay moved, and the cows are delighted about it. They're happily munching away.

We leave for the hospital in 1 hour. I really hope this one works like magic. I hate pain.
