I was reading yesterday that the groups of people who were making those 'your computer has a virus' calls have been stopped. Then I opened a letter 'To the Householder'. I nearly didn't open it as they are usually 'houses for sale in your neighbourhood or political advertisements. This one was signed by the Chief of Police, the head of the crime and corruption commission and a couple of other big names. A similar scam is going around about investments. Cold calls and so convincing it is catching even seasoned investors! Just hang up!

Gekko my friends.
Zusy, I used to play with the computer ones, asking them to wait, asking what computer I had and so on, funniest one is when I tell them I do not have a computer, they get all flustered and hang up. Call rate dropped dramatically after a couple of calls.

Broni, I used to do the same thing. One time I had a call about cleaning carpets and I said I didn't have any carpets. Then they said they also clean upholstery and I told them I didn't have any furniture at all. They don't know what to say then!

Today is day 4 without the statin drug and so far not much change. Yesterday morning I had no pain, but then it came back. I wore the orthotics for almost 7 hours today. I just want the pain to go away and I want to be able to sleep at night without my feet hanging off the end of the bed!!!

Am very late with supper tonight. The stirfry is almost finished.

Hope everything is OK with MizT.

He can be home without me knowing it because we have the house, the lab and his office on the property, with 3 separate driveways and 3 separate phone numbers.

Suzy - I like impressing people by informing them that I am a grandmother and then pointing out that I have an iPhone and know how to use it and am (umm, very) active on Facebook and other sites. And that I knew what YOLO was, as well - that one was my grandson - he was impressed. I told him I learned it on Pinterest - and he said 'what?'. One up on him!!

Thanks Heidi, Gail and Suzy for pulling my coat...that was an expression that let my kids at school think I was cool...but pleas..what the devil is YOLO? I had to ask my grandie what smh meant...and I still don't know what TTT means..and Susanne always includes it in her sign off...w/o teens in my life I'm out of it...LOL.
Sorry, I have to say what I'm thinking before I forget and forgot my manners in doing so...It's going on 11pm here so maeN all...
Theresa..hope your feet soon react positively to something so that you can once again be pain free, at least most of the time in that area. Often we are told to suck it up, but its so hard to enjoy life when in pain all the time...
Broni..enjoy the weather and have some fun since you don't have to work today...its always nice to have good weather when you aren't expected to do any thing other than you want...
Suzy...i understand your mixed feelings about Dana's move...and the resultant quiet...a real adjustment in the making. Wishing Dana all the best..you have helped her get started on the right road, but its time, and you guys will get to enjoy the visits that will come...lol.♥ BTW...glad its just a fan-girlie thing with Alie...and yes, I can remember several in my early years... Gonna run for now...be good to each other, but more importantly...be good to yourselves.Peace.

WooHoo! I'm here before 10 tonight! (And need to be in bed before 11, if possible!)

Greetings to everyone!

Nola, thinking positively about the job! Also keeping Judy in my thoughts and prayers!

Gail, how fun to recognize the cats by their walk/run/slide across the new floor!

June, I hope you can find a way to get some rest while you are back at home! Please remember to take care of yourself!

Theresa, the explanation of what doors can do to our memories is fantastic! Perhaps it also explains how it sometimes helps to go back to the original room to try to remember.

Suzy, a well-thought Christmas present for Alie!

Cyn, I have never seen Jersey Boys, and it left Chicago quite a while ago. A few years ago, hubby told some friends that tickets to Jersey Boys were going to be his Christmas gift to me. They never materialized. We're not big on gifts to each other, as you may have guessed. What usually happens is we buy something we need and say that it's our Christmas (or Birthday or Anniversary) gift. As our Mac computer is probably 8 or so years old and has not been able to be updated for at last the most recent three or four updates and is running REALLY slowly now, a new computer will probably be this year's 'Christmas gift.'

Heidi, I wish there were something we could do for your back! I know you're determined to participate in the parade. Good luck to you and your friend Tammy. I hope you're both up to the challenge!

Mama, I love your new avatar!

Suzy, I'm guessing that the drive and parking were enough for hubby to back off on his Jersey Boys idea. I think we would both have really enjoyed it. (I know I would have!) It's just that it can take 1-2 hours to drive into Chicago. (It's about 36 miles, I think.) Parking, if you can find it can be $20 or more. Then another minimum of 1 hour to drive home.

Terrific TOPP for page 521, Suzy!

Hooray for great weather on a day you don't need to go to work, Broni!

Uggghhh! Don't you hate the scam phone calls and emails!

Cyn and Suzy, you Go, Girls! There's no moss growing under your feet. You have iPhones and know how to use them! You know the lingo! Very impressive!

Suzy, all the best to Dana as she and Tahli gain some independence!

Well, I didn't make it by 10:00, but only missed it by about 18 minutes. Sending , healing vibes, {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}, positive thoughts and prayers for all who will benefit from them! Good Night!

Today is final yard clean up day before the weekend. Whoever wants will be here for a barby tomorrow night, but we are not really sure who will be here but it will be very casual. The 'official' get together will be Sunday lunch which will be a buffet of roasts and accompaniments and desserts :)

Oh My, I see I am pages behind! what will I be in a week.

I want to take my Aussie friends to the Sloss Furnace museum tomorrow, a historic
landmark, early to 1971 steel making site. Close, Free, and we cannot check in at the condo
till 4 pm . Plenty of time to do that. G the male part of the couple, worked in a steel mill for 36 years, he should enjoy this.

I went to doc, got hip injected, have script for therapy for hips and foot,
will start epidural blocks for back pain after I come back. if all of this
does not work, he will get me a scooter or electric chair. Said he did not
want me staying in my Living room in my recliner, not enjoying the activities,
just cause my back and hip was hurting.

Tomorrow is it, vacation day, one more thing to do and I am to bed. I will finish packing food
tomorrow am, check suitcase one more time, put in meds and drugs.

hugs to each of you, might can check on with friends laptop IF the promised wifi in condo is working.

Thanksgiving weekend for us here in Canada. Lots to do, lots to do. We will be celebrating on Monday. No turkey though, except for turkey cold cuts. We will be bringing stuff down to where MIL is staying and there's really no place to warm things, etc. Panini buns, cold cuts, veggies, snacks, chocolate mousse pie. There will be at least 7 of us, and there is a room at the facility that they will let us use. Pumpkin pie is one of MIL's specialties, so I am not even going to try making that.

Morning all,
Just been listening to Roll over Beethoven, posted by Mr Brenda...

MizT, you probably won't see this until you get back, but I hope you have a fantastic time!

June, The aquarium sounds great! I hope you get to sleep in a little today.

Gail, I will be thinking about you and hoping everything goes brilliantly this weekend. With all of your work and planning I can't imagine it being anything but a complete success!!

Theresa, have a wonderful Thanksgiving! I didn't enjoy pumpkin pie in the US, I think it was because the ones I had were loaded with cinnamon. I love cinnamon, but not so much in pumpkin pie...

Heidi, have a ball at the parade..

Well I have to off and do some finishing touches to my house as Alie has a friend coming over today - to jam..

It is Friday and I am happy. It has been a stressful week but that has ended. Tomorrow I am going with my parents to buy a kitchen table and chairs. They found a set they like but the place wanted to charge $120 to deliver, a distance of about 3 miles. I will use my van instead and deliver it. Hubby and I should be able to put the table together.

We've worked out our plans for tomorrow. I'll be meeting Tammy and Michael at noon and we'll be getting our parade number, then entering the crowd to cause pirate mischief. The parade isn't until 2 pm, and is only 5 blocks (a half mile or so) long. I probably won't have many, if any, places to put my pain pills on me, so I'll have to leave them locked in my truck.

Hi All...
Tami..many thanks...I had thought the 3T's might have been you... and I like YOLO!
Rolanda, you asked my next question too, thanks...Keeping fingers crossed for your move in date to be carved in stone..
Heidi...enjoy the parade but do take care when doing your pirate stuff..fingers crossed that all goes well for you.
Gail you and hubby have worked so hard...hope you are not so tired that you don't get to really enjoy as much as the others surely will. You renovs look wonderful!
Theresa..Happy Thanksgiving...enjoy your family togetherness..the food sounds yummy.
June, hope you get the needed rest to regain the upper hand on the aches and pains that can mess up a day.
Whatever the weekend brings your way, smile and know that if its good you need to file it away...but if its bad, it will soon go away because nothing remains the same..and we are blessed with that knowledge...Peace, love and soul....♥♥

Back from shopping and about to have a quick bite to eat for lunch. First job after that is cut up the veg for the two soups, starters for tomorrow's lunch, then make up the jellies for tonight's dessert and the choc ripple cake for tomorrow. In the morning we will put the roasts on early, and I will whip up a pav for the dessert buffet :)
Really only a couple of things left to do, have to paint around the door handles of the last room I did, hubby is just going outside to clean up the barby area...luckily we have an area under cover because it's drizzling out there and probably wont stop! At least we were expecting it...
Ok, that's it for me. Have fund Pirate Heidi, catch you all when I get a chance :)

Good Evening, Everyone! I'm just in for a quick visit, as we have another early morning coming up. Starting tomorrow morning hubby will be gone for 1.5 days, so all puppy care and walks during that time will be my responsibility.

Gail, you and Scott have worked so hard to prepare for this weekend! I hope you won't be too tired to enjoy your guests and accept all of the compliments! Have a wonderful time!

MizT, you have been busy! So glad your new apartment is ready for the unveiling to your visiting Aussie friends! Enjoy their company and have a wonderful time!

I hope the injection and therapy will provide relief, MizT. If/when you have an epidural for your back, be sure the doc has checked out the source of the injection. There have been some tainted vials leading to a fungal meningitis. I heard it involves 6 states, but have not heard which 6 they are.

Heidi, the concern about the epidurals apply to you, as well. Please be sure to check the source!

June, you need some time to rest! I'm sure Laura enjoyed the aquarium! I hope you enjoy the BBQ at bowls! I hope you don't need to prepare food or help with serving and can just sit down, relax and enjoy!

Gail, hooray for the computer access. Don't worry about posting pictures. I'm sure we can all wait another couple of days! Just relax and enjoy your family/guests!

Theresa, enjoy the Thanksgiving celebration with hubby, FIL, MIL and others! Being together is more important than the menu, which sounds fine, by the way!

Heidi, have fun at the parade! I hope you three pirates have a wonderful time and spread the joy! We'll be thinking of you and hoping you remember to pace yourself.

Tami, I'm so glad you have survived this difficult week! I hope you can find some time for yourself - after you perform your Tami's Delivery and Set-up services. That store should be reported for trying to fleece customers with exorbitant service charges! I'm so glad you and hubby can help your parents out! Please say Hi to Bobbi and Bernie for us!

Rolanda, thanks for asking about TOS! I couldn't figure it out either. Hooray for some dates for your house. These last 49 days will probably seem to drag for you because the important move-in date is coming quickly and you're likely to be a tad impatient. It will be so wonderful when you are ale to move in and enjoy the fruits of several months of labor!

Hi, Mamacita! All the things you said are so appropriate!

Gail, thanks for explaining TOS!

OK, folks, I'm nearly asleep at the keyboard. Sending all the usual positive thoughts, healing vibes, prayers, and {{{{HUGS}}}}! Good Night!

Just been shopping with hubby, needed pet food and we picked up a bunch of cleaning supplies for Dana. We made a deal with her that when she got her own place we'd set her up with herbs and spices. A friend then gave her a whole box full so we changed to cleaning supplies. I've also been asked to show her how to clean an oven as when she was house sitting the oven was so dirty it smoked every time she turned it on and she had no idea what to do.

,Gail, have a wonderful time!

Heidi, ditto.

Julie, have fun with the puppy!

The car is a bit bumpy so I will finish when I get home.

Alie has a friend over - jamming. They are just friends but I think she has found her ideal boy... She has always wanted a boyfriend who could sing with her - he can sing! She whispered that to me 'Can you hear him singing? Listen, he's really good'...I don't know if she's made the leap to ideal boy yet, he's just what she's been talking about for a couple of years now.

Dana pulled out a permanent marker and wrote what each of the cleaning products was meant for. I have been such a slack mother! I should have made her help me more over the years!!

Suzy - I like the 'ideal boy' thingy - I hope she recognises him as that!
TOS - I am as smart as Gail, I knew what it was, thanks to Karen from Texas, who carries on conversations between sites all the time! Lol!
Gail - sounds like you are well organised and that your place is pretty as a picture. Relax now and enjoy. Say nothing, Broni and Rolanda! I know I was a cot case.
Tricia, enjoy your visitors! Heidi, have fun at the parade! And I hope the back pain eases for both of you very swiftly!
Theresa - enjoy your Thanksgiving, even if under different circumstances from normal. I, too like the sound of chocolate mousse pie!
Tami - $120 for delivery is exorbitant!!!
Rolanda - 49 sleeps, will be over in a flash!

Spent the day relaxing at the beach with Karin and her family. They are on hols until Monday. It was lovely and restful but the drive there and back on Highway 1 - only about 70kms each way is fraught with young drivers weaving around through the thick traffic, driving at breakneck speed. Scary stuff or am I getting old?
